Magnus is as generic as you can get, so I would be deeply angered. Dark Pit would be okay, but only because I would assume they included him to save time on modeling.

I'm wondering if they were anywhere near as good in the Japanese version before localization. If they were, Sakurai is indeed a god among men (Considering he wrote all the japanese dialogue himself for KI:U)

ALL of the gods and goddesses were flawed. That's kind of the whole point, not unlike the Greek originals. They're petty at times, shortsighted at others. The three-way battle between Palutena, Hades and Viridi is what drew the Aurum to Earth, for example. And Viridi's arrogance and Palutena's ignorance resulted in the Chaos Kin being freed. And Hades paid the ultimate price for his hubris, as did Pyrrhon. NONE of them "have their shit together," and that's what makes them great characters. :-D

I sometimes wonder just how did Uprising managed to pull off having such good writing plus great cast of characters PLUS and entertaining (if poorly paced at times) story PLUS a fantastic English dub (like, it's seriously one of the best in gaming) all in one, and also managed to be a great game on top of all that.

Viridi still manipulates the Forces of Nature while guiding Pit, fighting the Underworld Army while giving Pit some Special Ops work. They show up fairly often during her missions.
Palutena makes middling use of the centurions except during the Chaos Kin chapters when suddenly they're really good.
I didn't mean "moaning and complaining" literally, but I'm talking about exchanges like in Chapter 4, with her "We Gods Fight Too" spiel. So what, send some of those exotanks and cherubots into the underworld and get over it. It's not Medusa's fault she hadn't been keeping up with R&D and just sat on her hands in her 25 year vacation.
Only because of the truce with Viridi, otherwise the game never would've ended.
And the game's self-aware enough for that to be a legitimate reason.
I'll be back to a Palutena avatar after a week. This is to appease the Splatoon gods and guarantee a successful new IP.
Sakurai wrote the original script, but a former SNL/Onion writer rewrote it in English and was given creative liberties with the humor. That flexible approach then served a brilliant VA cast perfectly.

Wouldn't be all too bad if they focused on various weapons side of Uprising with him, similar to how they focused on the powers you can equip for Palutena
Personally, what I hope that Pitoo tease at the end of the trailer meant is that the Uprising cast gets codec conversations, and there are different ones if your alt color is Pitoo's

Wow, you really do hate Palutena for no reason at all. A mythical creature has been found in the wilds of the internet...
They both played to the best of their abilities but ultimately got overwhelmed by Hades because he had his shit together the most.
Viridi just cuts ahead by not being afraid to send her troops to war and also not getting a bug bite halfway through.
You say, quoting a post with subjective opinions and examples from the game.
My distaste for Palutena is mostly due to my preference of (almost) every other character in the game, over her. It's not unbridled hatred and I'm not turning tea tables over her inclusion in Smash, I just stand by her not being the best character in the game.
I can see people being upset about that but I would be okay with that.
It's funny. Dark Pit is the only character that I am 100 percent against, but would still be totally excited if it happens.
I'm a big fan of the character. However, as a fan, I feel that the best way to represent him would be an alt. costume for Pit with a voice change and replacing the Palutena Bow with the Silver Bow. There's no point in making him his own unique character. Giving him the exact same moveset as Pit makes way more sense.
I can see people being upset about that but I would be okay with that.
Of all the foils for heroes that'd be clones, Dark Pit would be the one I'd want as a different character.

I'd say it's less that Hades had his shit together and more that being the god of the underworld gave him an overwhelming advantage in terms of being able to muster troops in more than one way (Including being able to revive his lieutenants like he did for Thanatos as well as just the grunts)
Admittedly Hades has the deck stacked in his favor just because everything anyone else did ends up being a victory for him, however minor.

Sleeping on the job while humanity was on the brink of collapse and lying about moving the waves when it was Poseidon seem like flaws to me.
While he wrote a lot of the story and dialogue, it's hard to tell how much was added with the localization.
