Both Patrick and Vinny said it was a personal/family decision. Both moves bring them closer to family.Vinny highlighted the price of living is San Francisco is horrible - not sure if that was part of his reasoning for the move though (NY must be expensive too),

I live in NYC area. Does Giant Bomb do fan gatherings too?

Vinny said that he's actually not even in NY proper. In none of the boroughs, so apparently the prices are more reasonable.

Do they erroneously ascribe SE's many failings to Nomura, or do they dump on his dumb character designs and the bizarre nonsensical direction of Kingdom Hearts?

Edit: You answered. That's dumb. He didn't make either of the two trainwrecks that destroyed the FF brand.

Both. Patrick at one point actually attributes basically everything terrible about FF to Nomura, but then later dials back saying "Of course he couldn't single handedly do it but~"

Also man.

If you hate giantbomb shitting on things.

Don't listen to the latest bombin' the AM.
Grated I don't have much interest in the games they talked about, but the latest Bombin felt really boring. It was like they were trying to have a light hearted discussion but the banter just fell flat.

This would be awesome.

Dear Diary,

What is "Castlevania"?

Oh no, I don't mind giantbomb shitting on things, even if it's stuff I like.

The hate in this episode is intense though. Near Jeff Gerstmann-esque

That's the gist of it yes.

lol, Nomura has never been involved in any Final Fantasy gameplay or story design before Versus.

Man, these guys have been doing this for years. You'd think they would have caught wind of corrections people have sent their way over the years.

I've always wondered, whenever a new semi-regular person gets introduced into the GB family, does Jeff/Vinny have a word with them about what to expect from the fanbase?

Basically, I'm asking if there's ever a conversation warning guests about the weird photoshops they're about to see their faces on?

If only that was the extent of it...

I think it'd be cool if Alexis was on the bombcast more. I like Rorie but he was a bit much on the bombcast. He's better on UPF when everyone is just messing around.

As far as I know, Alexis is HELLA busy. He seems from what he's let on about he nips in to videos either because he has 15 minute break and it's more fun to do that on-camera with the crew than a breakroom or it's friday afternoon and he's done (and that went sideways last time).

Scoops and Wolf, if it were only that simple.

Also, imma steal that word.

Oh man that Vinny/Alex BEAST video is just great. I really have high hopes for what they will do in NY. That comment Alex had about just being happy to get out of his apartment is so true. Working at home seems so great at times, but then there are just almost weeks where you barely leave and it really can wear on you.

edit: The Robyn woman from Tvguide really did seem great. I don't have cable anymore but she seemed to already have on-air experience so I'm guessing tv guide channel stuff? Don't they basically do E! type interviews and all of that? So I bet she already has great "improv" type chops.

Hey guys, remember that Oblivion marathon Greg Kasavin did centuries ago? Is there an archive of that somewhere? Gamespot and youtube only have the highlights.

Dynasty Warriors can be fun for a game or two. It this Patricks first exposure to the series? The fact that they have been making the same game for 15+ years with nothing but bad cosmetic layovers and very little game play upgrades is what makes the series terrible. Its basically Madden at this point but with some cool historic backgrounds.

It's not online, and Jeff mentioned once that that file is lost - GS could not reupload it even if they wanted to

What kind of game is Dynasty warriors nowadays? Is it like still that core formula of destroying dudes with these whimsical attacks? Did they switch it up? Kinect support?

I wish there was a site that covered these games and had more hands on impressions with the Dynasty Warriors series.

Enduring would be a word if I needed to describe the game. It just keeps on running.

Non-Stop

The core Dynasty Warriors game hasn't changed since 3. It's gotten a lot faster since, the horse now magically appears when you call for it, and there's some variations to the combat, but the core is still light and heavy attacks trying to take out enemy generals. They've basically been tuning it like COD has been tuning since that started, and some ideas appear in one game, and get dropped in the next. It's fun but not particularly engaging.

Same basic games, but they are always adding new systems. Most of them with the goal of making you switch up your equipped weapon throughout the level.

a lot of good bonus modes too.

What I'd think would be neat is some sort of nobi nobi boy online feature where either online clans or even just separating it up to good vs bad sides were competing with each other and building up stats and the clans popularity or you choose to be either a villain or good guy and every time you fight each other's armies you start to "win" on the global scale. Maybe even the better you get as am individual within your clan you get rotated into a roster of bosses your opponents will have to fight as a boss down the line.

Something like that could get me interested in a game like this.

One of us. One of us. One of us.

They still make the same style of game, but they improve little by little every entry. They never get too ambitious, but they fine tune everything that was wrong. So they're REALLY good at the mindless hack n slash at this point.

Ok the mention of Beastcast has me wondering; who's good and new york based that GBNY could potentially poach in the not too distant future?

Not surprising that they would dump on Nomura while knowing nothing about the series. They do such things constantly and its why I stopped watching the show. I like some of the stuff Patrick does on his own like the Wolfenstein interview but when you get him talking about some things with Alex they just go on completely ignorant rants.
