UEFA absolutely needs to give up one of it's qualifying spots to conmebol. Right now they only get 4 guaranteed spots for 2018.

Yes, Bosnia, Greece and Switzerland, those range from joke to mediocre, and that's not counting the sad presentations of Spain, England, Italy and Portugal. And then you have Russia and Croacia, which had a not that sad world cup.

I mean, the only good presentations are Netherlands, first Germany match, and France (defeating Switzerland and Honduras, two subpar teams).

The point, besides the bad European performance on this world cup, is that Europe has too many slots. Why not give some of the joke slots, and let some more middle east, south Asian or Oceania teams?

I'm actually in favour of more intercontinental playoff games.

Instead of the guaranteed 13 slots, give UEFA 9 slots and let the 8 second-place teams play in playoffs against other continents instead of each other.

Looking at the teams who barely didn't make it in other federations (Uzbekistan, Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Panama, Jamaica), I'm confident we'd end up with more European teams than before.

I never realized how many teams are in CONCACAF, and then I realize that I don't know most of these places.

most of those places don't even have a professional football leagues. The matches are boring and sometimes painful to watch, and don't make your team better.

You should reread both my post and the post I was replying to. I was speaking of those who didn't want Italians parade in their country (the majority of which were immigrants). I had never intended to say that they should like the Italian team, I've lived in Germany and I love the rivarly with my German friends.

So I think Dracula should stick to reffing Mexican liga games and not be in the world cup. He is a very controversial ref and the world cup doesn't need anymore controversy. Maybe he follows the book by the letter, I don't know. But every single game this guy has questionable calls and creates a shadow over the result. He fucked Chile in 2010 vs Spain and that's why they had to play Brazil in the round of 16. Every memory of this guys games has something controversial.
