2014 FIFA World Cup |OT4| What can European men do against such reckless heat?

Being someone who was rooting for Italy because of family ties, but also someone who was born in Colombia, I will be pretty crushed if Uruguay goes on to knock Colombia out, too.

On the other hand, Colombia avenging Italy would be poetic. Seeing as Suarez managed to really turn a lot of people against Uruguay, I'm glad Colombia has an opportunity to be of service to everyone. :P

I like Prandelli the person but as a coach he has had some very questionable decision making. Was time for a change.

I think Low should be next if Germany underperform here, and Hodgson deserves one more chance if they disapoint at Euro then can his ass.

Lebron opted out of his contract. Ugh, ESPN gonna be 24/7 Lebron coverage for months. World Cup coverage is over is USA... Man, I hate ESPN's obsession with NBA/Lebron.

The target demographic eats that shit up though. They love the NBA soap opera.

IMO a joke of a league

Perfect.

He needs to be prosecuted for assault, you bite somebody in public you get arrested.

But seriously, even though i agree biting is worse i'm pretty sure you're not to allowed to elbow or headbutt someone. I think if you would jump-tackle someone inf front of a crossing and a officer sees it your're going downtown as well.

That red card was harsh, but I think it was fair; he did a childish foul in front of the referee, what an idiot. It could have been yellow, but it was the italian player's fault, no doubt; and in the worst time possible, when Italy had the game controlled.

Suarez will be probably sanctioned, the referee didn't see the bite, that's why he wasn't immediately expelled from the game. Wouldn't have changed anything IMO.

On what planet could Uruguay knock out Columbia? Even with beaver mcdracula not* suspended?

So, can anyone tell me what Uruguay commentators/fans saying about Suarez's bite. Are they praising him as a hero like in 2010, indicating that in your eyes, he can do no wrong? Or do you actually have standards and are condemning him for it?

It must.

We all know FIFA is a corrupt joke, but look how much this is blowing up on social media and news outlets - FIFA have to ban Suarez from the cup to keep the integrity of the tournament and their continued fair play campaign intact.

Yep. (Social) media is a powerful thing.

I've always supported the idea of uniting the whole American continent in a confederation, it would be good for the competition and rising the quality level.

with all due respect; I would rather to see Mexico competing against Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, etc, instead of Jamaica, San Vicente, Guatemala, etc.

2016 copa america is that.

Also, anyone against giving .5 UEFA slots to Oceania should be banned from football.

Situation was 0-0 and Italy was playing with one man less... I just don't understant how people are saying it wouldn't have changed the outcome. Of course Uruguya could have scored (or italy could have scored) but that goal that they did wouldn't have happened.

social media blows up if Suarez farts after eating a sandwich

not saying he's not being an asshole, but he has the biggest tabloid target on his back, no need to make decisions based on that

bite marks look like the same shop from every angle

tabloids gonna tabloid, im not convinced. we'll find out in a while.
salsa pls

Official German coverage just showed a close up slow-motion replay of the scene. Suarez leaned down, opened his mouth, bit Chiellini's shoulder. Overwhelming evidence. Nothing to do with tabloids, facts are facts.

Unsportsmanlike conduct, he'll be lucky if he gets away with a tournament ban tbh.

I like Prandelli, but good lord I'm glad he's out. Maybe they'll remove Balotelli from the national team. Most overrated player ever.

Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez says he will see how he can defend Suarez. "This is a football World Cup, not about morality."

Tabarez just made a long defense of Suarez, including lashing out at media for targeting him. One journalist clapped afterward.

Uruguay coach suggesting questions about Suarez bite are because he's the `` the preferred target of certain media.''

It's not the morality World Cup lads.

not uruguayan but I still can't believe the salt over the 2010. The guy got a red card (e.g. was PUNISHED) by the handball. The Ghana player missed the penalty after that. Had he scored, nobody would've given a shit about the handball. There's a difference between that and biting somebody.
