I enjoy that Patrick makes an effort to find out what people like about games he doesn't already like.

He's probably the only person on the crew that does that. Honestly, very little of what comes out these days is actual trash with no redeeming qualities. There's fans of everything and they can probably make pretty reasoned arguments for why they like it. If you fancy yourself a fan of video games, it's never a bad idea to try and understand why.

I was going to say that maybe it's his youth making him more curious but both Vinny and Ryan would come up with some random shit to play, too, so I think Jeff just plays Call of Duty and gets mad sometimes.

Seems like Jeff & Co don't need to attend as many meetings and such as they have had to in the past now, judging by what he's saying on the Jar Time video. Must be nice to finally get some kind of buffer between themselves and the business side of things.

I like to think Jeff turned up to meetings regardless of content, demanded they were permitted to hire new people and then stormed out.

Now Drew will have to turn up and mumble something about bitrates.

Drew will turn up and ask them if they think cavemen could imitate faces.

The ending of the newest jar time really helps raise confidence about the future of the site. Jeff sounds optimistic and seems to have a load of weight off his shoulders with the new hires coming in finally. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do.

Also, I'm gonna go ahead and take what he said there as a confirmation that there'll be a Big Live Live Show this fall!

Are all of the Alt+F1 podcasts as good as the first one was?

If so I'm going to plow though this shit, so good!

I just wish I could subscribe to it on Downcast. I have a real issue with lack of subscription model for the premium podcasts.

also that Crimsonland quick look just sold me on the game. Bought.

you can.

get the rss feed link from GB, go to downcast and click "add". there you have a field to paste in the feed url and below it is a login info field. type in your GB stuff and you should be good to go.

Spintires looks like the most frustrating game ever, would go insane playing it. Physics stuff is neat but like with Euro Truck I don't really get the appeal of doing such boring tasks.

I understand it has multiplayer, which could potentially be pretty fun. Definitely went on the wishlist after this QL.

It all depends on your playstyle.

Spintires is boring if you try to do everything perfectly. Spintires is fun if you try to deliver a big shipment of lumber and plow through forests and break stuff and mess up a billion times.

Same with ETS2. It's fun driving a truck at 100mph down the wrong side of a road, or listening to shitty polish country music while it's pitch black at night with your headlights off, flashing your high beams to the music.

...BRB buying Euro Truck Simulator.

Fair enough, with spin tires I can see how one could get enjoyment out of it, especially when using your imagination. With Euro Truck though the physics engine seems pretty poor, the graphics on the lower end, and so on. Doesn't seem to have as wide a toolset to mess around with. Then again the quick look was fun
although a lot of that was the horrible virus storm
Euro Truck really seems like it could be neat on a higher budget, and given how well the second game seems to have sold hopefully that money is used well.

Be it getting your lifted truck through some mud, or your jeep up a 70 degree incline, offroad motorized sporting is popular enough that I constantly see it on TV. There seems like to be a fair amount of strategy involved as well when it comes to certain obstacles so it's not really a surprise why somebody might be engaged in the slower pace of spintires. Physics puzzles are fun.

Suppose it's the objectives that are throwing me off. Who was to carrying logs around? Game feels like it should be a bit more silly, although having to deal with the added weight is neat.

You can subscribe to the 'premium feed' on Downcast, I think by adding manually and using the link (or the RSS url thing?) It will prompt you to use your login credentials. It's one feed for the powerbombcast, box office bomb, and alt F1, but I listen to all 3 so it works.

I wonder what it's like around the office with just Jeff and Drew. Of all of the staff, they seem to be the most polar opposite of each other.
