Nah bro that's Valentinus not me haha

I deleted the alpha...cause it was so tempting to start it up each time and it reminded me of the awesome alpha games with y' all gaffers :). We teared some shit up!!!

quick question about the Beta. how long does it last?
also has anyone tried remote play using the Vita? i'm working away from home all of July and it's tempting to purchase a Vita to play the Beta.

Nobody knows yet how long the beta will last.

There's a few remote play impressions, including my own back on page 86 of this thread (here). Overall opinions are that it's great on Vita.

Hope that helps

I wish the beta will last till the game ships.

They could tweak all they want from the info they'll gather in the meanwhile.

Just watched the "what do we know" video. Pretty cool stuff - I like the idea that the traveller protects us to the point that it's almost expired then we have to fend for ourselves while it recovers its strength.

Sets up a nice cycle for content down the years.

Cool.

Like I imagined. but as it's a heavy focus on social and coop even in campaign, I think it's a loss to not be PS+
To be honest, there will probably be very few people who are planning to get Destiny on PS4, who don't have PS+. The fact that all MP is tied to PS+ this generation means that a lot of people will already have gotten a sub at launch for games like CoD/BF4.

I do remember there being a note in the menus of the alpha too, saying that the Crucible (PvP/MP) and Strikes/Raids require PS+.

Maybe you could spell Sepiks right? ;-)

Perhaps you could throw something in there on how Warlock is clearly the superior class choice?

But Titan can jump in the air and come crashing down, sending enemies into oblivion!

I loved Warlock in the alpha. Going to roll Titan in the beta and see if I like it more or not.

I'm looking forward to the beta but also dreading it's arrival in a way.

I'm psyched to jump back into this amazing world which Bungie have crafted, but I'm not too happy about investing even more time into yet another character only to have him wiped from existence when the beta ends. It'll be such a bitter sweet ending for me. I'm sure my last days with my awoken warlock (probably called Tim) will be an emotional one.

Does anyone think there's a slim possibility your character will carry over?

I so much doubt that our Beta characters will carry over that I'm going to go ahead and say they won't carry over.

I'm a little uneasy with the upcoming Beta, but in a different way than you. I don't mind having to level up three two Hunter characters before release. It's fun to do.

What I am anxious about is if the Beta will be Old Russia or a different area. I want a new area because I've already explored Old Russia. On the other hand, I don't want a new area because I won't be able to resist playing it, and I'd want to save this new area until the game's release.
I thought it might be helpful for people who didn’t play the alpha if we could give some general gameplay tips. Especially for people who are coming from a FPS background and may not be familiar with some of Destiny’s gameplay mechanics. Maybe the better ones could be organised and included in Dax’s Beta OT. (Don’t want to tread on toes here though! Ha.)
I will include this post, just make sure to get rid of that Sepiks' typo.

This is what i'm struggling with... i kind of want to wait until the full release to do any more exploring. Maybe i'll just focus on MP... but PvE is so much better. Damn you Destiny!

I already have a semi fireteam set up with a buddy and a gaf member. I hope warlocks have good support skills as my buddy is the op one at shooters and the guy will largely be sniping. I'm good at halo and at building rpg skolls so hopefully that transfers into destiny.

Hunter 4life

I tried the other classes, but that double(soon triple jump) jump feels too good.

I'm hoping they at least buff the Golden Gun. Does jack shit to higher leveled enemies.

At this point I think I might just use the beta for competitive co-op or, more likely, skip it completely and save myself completely for the full release.

Warlocks are still the best.

But.

I might be playing Titan in the final game. Just because I like that archetype. I like being the tank, but I also like being support. But I feel like Warlock won't have enough support for me to enjoy it. So... I guess what I'm saying is... we'll see. :P

I'm going to play all three, but will be starting with the Warlock as its obviously the superior class. Think I might go the other focus path though with the buffing abilities.

That is my plan. Support oriented Warlock for PvE and a titan for PvP

All of the above is similarly reflected in Gear/Armor - the Defense number is meaningless in PvP but secondary traits can give you perks - like faster handcannon reloading. Picking your PvP weapons/gear is sort of like picking your Perks in Call of Duty. (But remember, you can only have ONE exotic weapon and ONE exotic piece of gear equipped at any time.)

Is the only having 1 exotic weapon and 1 exotic armor equipped at a time a rule for both PVE and PVP? I wonder if that will be something that changes as you level up.

Super useful post!

I assume it is a rule for both and that it won't change as you level up. I think it's a smart way to make players choose what is most important to them - players that have more exotics won't automatically be more powerful but they will have more options.

Totally agree. It felt useless against bosses.

I feel like the supers in the alpha were are all meant to be used for clearing trash waves, which to be honest are more of a challenge than the bosses on Legend difficulty as they swarm you in numbers (and shields).
