I hope that after a while, when everyone on and around the pitch, aswell as at home knows that both teams play for a draw, the US get arrogant and score a goal. Dat 1st place ahead of Germany, can't pass that up. Caught them sleeping...but they piss off the Germans and they go Godmode on the US for a 6-1 hammering.

Let's do this.

Today has been so slow. I'm thirsting for a USA meltdown tonight.

You mean 10 pages of 'FREEDOM' bullshit regardless of what happens?

Followed by 10 more pages of 'USA was robbed' after they lose.

Gonna be a looooong night

Edit: oh and we got pages of k-pop gifs to look forward to after that lol

USA meltdowns wouldn't be half as bad as Germany's if US pulls out a win.

If the US plays Belgium in the 1/8th, I'm not going into town to watch it on a big screen but staying at home just for all those reaction in this thread (actually, a future OT probably). It's gonna be beautiful.

What are you insinuating?!

I actually prefer to watch at home, I can get a bit autistic when I watch a football game...

I'd rather go out to the bars and watch :p I did that for the Portugal game and it was a really fun experience.

Got to watch the first game in a coffehouse and it was glorious, second I couldn't. THis one- I'm just not going to be able to get up in time to watch there.

So if Germany and Portugal win today with a 2-0 and 3-0 result or similar GD, USA and Portugal draw straws?

If USA draws the short straw, pretty sure GAF will implode and pretty much every American will never watch football again.

Muntari got booked 2 consecutive yellows (1 for each match played) making him miss today's match... If that has anything to do with him being sent home early

i am pretty sure most Americans watching this cup will not watch soccer again until either the Olympics, or the next cup no matter what.

I dont understand why Balotelli continues to play in and for a country that subjects to such nasty, racial abuse. He wouldnt get that in the UK, France, and probably not Germany either. I have to applaud how resolute he is, but goddamn, there comes a time when enough is enough

He still supports Ghana's team. He was born and raised in Italy and his adoptive parents are likely the reason why he had the opportunity to play football

I don't see a problem personally.

I'm insinuating there will be sweet, American tears

Yes I expect the thread to be full of gloating DutchGAF B-)

After the thrashing by Mexico? I hardly think so!

It really is, especially since we had to wait 12 years for that.

I'm not sure losing Muntari is a big deal, haven't found him that impressive.

He's better than the replacements on the bench though.

Essien is a beast but Rabiu, Badu etc... Just ain't enough.

Kadwo Asamoah could do a job but they put him in left back...

Tough times

Let alone no Kevin Beast Boateng

the pure hate is getting from italian journalists these days is mindboggling. it's almost like they only expected the team to be out to start shitting him.

It's really ridiculous that a luck-based draw is still a tie-breaker. There's so many factors they could use before that, such as yellow and red cards, number of fouls, or even FIFA ranking.

They ought to have a penalty shootout as the last tie-breaker instead of drawing straws. That's not going to tire the teams out. Could televise it too for big ratings.
