Congratulations in your low moral standards, I guess.

Don't be ridiculous that has nothing to do with morals. Really what's so hard to understand, this is football man, it happens all the time, players will fault to stop counterattacks and take the yellow, fault the guy that's going one on one with your keeper and get the red, or stop the ball with the hand if necessary and take the red and the pk. That's the game, simple as that, and has nothing to do with morals or violence.

Exactly.

If anything, a foul is far less moral than a handball, considering a foul actually injures someone.

How do you feel about Football players fouling someone who has a clear break-away chance?

Exactly the same as my other example discarded for you for I don't know what reason.

Are you going to continue asking my opinion of different situations that happen in football? What's your point? Mine is pretty clear if you read my first post.

If you disagree, fine. I'm not trying to change your view on the subject, but expressing mine.

Did you miss the middle part of my post?

It's a legitimate tactic in that it's something that you are able to do, with positives and negatives, which is governed under the rules, and for which one has to weigh the benefits and consequences.
He did what he did in clear view of everyone, didn't try to hide it, and accepted the consequences for it. And it was the correct move to do.

Are you guys talking about the Handball save? If so, it's completely within the rules to do the handball and get a red card. Morals don't play in the scenario. If you are willing to take a red for the offense, you do it.

If you guys are talking about the bite........there is no defending that. I still think FIFA's response was too lenient for a 3rd offense.

I got myself some Chiellini, a quart of bandire, a whole damn loaf of stadia persona non grata, and I'm washing it down with the sweet satisfaction that everyone can suck my dick because I'm eating Italian FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOd

Post your dinner, cause it's not better than mine.

Did you miss the middle part of my post?

No I didn't, but it's so flawed that it's truly ridiculous.

You say it's legitimate, no, it's not, for the very same reason, if you make that action, you get a red card and a PK. The rules are telling you very clearly: DON'T DO THAT.

By your standards, it's legitimate if I kill a person, because laws will send me to jail or to death penalty. So it's ok because, you know, I'll face the consequences. Yeaaaaah, legitimate.

How hard is to you to understand that some (I'd say most) people want clean games, with no cheating, no foul?

Anyways, I'm done here. We're running in circles.

feck this. I'm just getting more and more pissed that we're being
punished.
H&G was a long time ago but I'm getting a heavy urge to do a bit
of "internet terrorism".
Here's the FIFA contact page: http://www.fifa.com/contact/
form.html
I'm going to spam the feck out of them with emails of complaint.
If nothing else then to make myself feel better.
What's that email trick where you add like a "**" or ".1" or
something to that effect to make unique emails but they all link to
your normal email? Like we did for one of the JFT96 petitions
where by adding a different number every time to the end of your
email, you could vote many times?
Just so they can't block my email after the thousandth email.
:lol :lol.

From RAWK.

I just can't.

Alright, fair enough.
Continue on your quest of ridding Football of all fouls.

Let's dream of that season with no Yellows or Reds by anyone.
And, let's continue to be ashamed of Football while such offenses continue to exist.

Yeah, if this thread was all just about the bites, that would be one thing.

But people continue to bring up that handball along with it, as if it's related and another example of his poor morals or judgements or whatever.
And, it's hilarious that people are still so salty over a brilliant Football move.

Read about (Uruguay's President) Mujica's defense on Suarez and oh my god, you just can't say that. You just can't.

Que pasó, Mujica? Antes eras chévere.

I was reading Uruguay's media in the morning and basically the whole country is in that delusional state.

At the end of the day it's more sad than pathetic, cause Luis Suárez obviously need some kind of treatment, but instead of that, everyone who surround him just keep considering what he does as something that is not a big deal and present him as a victim.

Sad.

I hope once the rage vanished, they'll act as supposed.

Players get banned for life for fixing matches. This cunt should get a lifetime ban as well, it's the third time he's bitten someone, and also that handball during the Quarters in South Africa. That should be enough to make that scum not play anymore, or send him to a shitty club, like Milan or ManU, even better, send him to the MLS.

MAKE HIM FEEL THE PAIN, FIFA.

There's also the racism. Don't forget the racism.

This is just... perfect.

it's just football, it aint that serious. Some people are reacting as if Mujica and the Uruguay press were condoning the bombing of a city or something.

Loool is this idiot saying that they'll push forwards acknowledging their mistakes? They've certainly done a great job thus far, him in particular.

Indignation, IMPOTENCE? For the love of fucking god Lugano..... I can't.

EDIT: Quickie Translation for others:

"Indignation, Impotence; I think that's what we all feel. We would all like a fairer world, but that world simply does not exist. Those who rule, rule, & the strong are the strong... we aren't all judged equally.

Hugs to Luis, who like always will pick himself up, and especially to his family which is the one that suffers most in moments like these. Keep feeling proud of him, he deserves it.

As for us, nothing will stop us. We'll keep on going forward with humility, unity, compromise, acknowledging our mistakes and always with our heads held on high"

Weak. The guy's a repeat offender who flops and lies and bites people. If it was his second go, maybe the ban might suit, but it's his 3rd effing time pulling this shit. Ban his ass permanently already.
Agreed.

Has there been an interview or public statement by him after the ban? I'm interested if he has any regret or sensibility after this.

Saw that post that Ferdinand got 8 months for a missed test, this is such a crooked organization.

Uruguyans want Uruguay to not be eliminated from World Cup: News at 11

Seriously, if Colombia's key player was banned from a match, I'd be defending him too just because I don't want my country to lose.

Anyway, very deserved, and the guy who got bit's got a lot of patience for not punching him.
remember my friend we go a step ahead... we all miss Andres Escobar :(

I could complain about the severity of the ban, or not, but it's really besides the point so I aint gonna

Bottom line is as an organization, no matter how corrupt FIFA is in general, you can't really look the other way to this kind of behaviour repeated times and still expect to be respected by anyone. Same way Suarez can't keep thinking he can ignore all rational action and not think about the consequences in the moment.

History is there and this is his third offense doing something like this. Otherwise I could be in the "too much!" camp, but that just can't be argued with.

He should feel like shit, and he's gonna, not just for fucking up and opportunity for us everyone worked hard for but because of the embarrasment in general. We don't need it, we play great football and that's more than enough for people to pay us attention.

for the record: I still think FIFA is absolute shit and looks the other way in a bunch of other terrible crap, but I can't come here and pick and choose. If they're gonna be like this, tho, and this severe, I hope going forward they're willing to be more thorough with a lot else.

I still remember Cantona getting off easy for kung-fu kicking a fan.

cUbNb24.jpg

the Cantona stuff was nothing in terms of punishment, now that's arguable jail time (he got a few hours of community service)

as far as matches go, im pretty sure he ended up being suspended for 6

FIFA got involved when they made the suspension worldwide, but in the grand scheme your point is still fair. Just one of the first things that comes to mind when you talk about the kind of shit people "got away" with before. my bad. There's many incidents to point out tho just in the sport in general, but third offense is third offense.

WTF SalsaShark. How do you just make up shit? Claiming that Cantona got away with it and Suarez's punishment is harsh in comparison is ridiculous. Anybody can easily look up the facts (Man Utd 94-95, Man Utd 95-96). Here's Cantona's punishment:
Cantona was arrested and convicted for assault, resulting in a two-week prison sentence. This was overturned in the appeal court and instead he was sentenced to 120 hours of community service.

In accordance with The Football Association's wishes, Manchester United suspended Cantona for the remaining four months of the 1994–95 season, which ruled him out of first team action as United were still in the hunt for a second double. He was also fined £20,000.

The Football Association then increased the ban to eight months (up to and including 30 September 1995) and fined him a further £10,000. The FA Chief Executive Graham Kelly described his attack as "a stain on our game" that brought shame on football. FIFA then confirmed the suspension as worldwide, meaning that Cantona couldn't escape the ban by transferring to a foreign club. Manchester United also fined Cantona two weeks' wages.

Cantona was banned for about 30 competitive club matches (besides friendlies and training matches). He was punished by his club, the FA, FIFA and the legal system. Furthermore he was rightfully stripped of the France national team captaincy and was never selected for his country again (ironically the reason Cantona committed the offense was because the fan said "Fuck off back to France, you French motherfucker").

In comparison Suarez has only been punished by FIFA with a four month ban, not been punished by Liverpool and is being given a hero's treatment by Uruguay

Lugano should be banned as well. What a grade A piece of fucking trash. So disgusting. No wonder he plays at shit like WBA.

He's unavailable to Liverpool for the first 2 months of the season.

Yes, the punishment wasn't "from Liverpool," but it's imposed on Liverpool.
What do you want them to do, say "Yeah, we're banning him for the first 2 months of the season, concurrent with the FIFA ban?"

After what Suarez/Uruguay did to Ghana, F em'.

Yes, how dare they beat Ghana.
Such a horrible thing to have done.

What a weird way of phrasing it.

It's completely against the rules; hence the reason why you get a red card.

They could fine him.

Eh the consequences seem rather light for it being his third biting offense. I do believe there is probably some preferential treatment because of how much of a star he is

Guy has a history of being trash - should have gotten more, but it is what it is.

Leaving bite marks on multiple people should have banned for life, especially with how blatant and uncalled for that bite was.

And then you have the other things he's done and said too.

People defending someone who BIT SOMEONE during a game because they root for that team should be seriously ashamed and embarrassed for themselves.

I don't ask for a lot of athletes but for fucks sake could you have the tiniest shred of humanity and not BITE the other players? There's no defending it, you don't slip and bite someone. Shitty sportsmanship is bad enough, but shit like this has to be punished and hard; what kind of message does it send to the kids that idolize these douches if they don't?
