So apparently Nigeria is having a team meltdown right now ?

I saw that on a french journalist's Twitter feed. They didn't train today and cancelled a press conference. They had a pretty long meeting with the staff instead.

So basically right now we may have a match where both sides are having internal issues. If true, the winner will be judged by who can get their shit together.

Its fucking incredible, none of them have a fucking ounce of patriotism. Everyone of them are selfish fucks that can't for one month put their greedy fucking hearts on lock down and play for their countries, its sad.
Yep, the fans deserve better. They seem to forget that you play for the supporters not the FA's, if you're just after money fuck off and retire from international football.

Hope:

Chile, Columbia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Costa Rica, Argentina, USA

Most likely outcome:

Brazil, Columbia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Costa Rica, Argentina, Belgium

The possibility of Mexico - Costa Rica is so glorious and stressful.

I hope we ticos beat Greece and the mexicans beat Netherlands.

I'm actually scared of being banned during that game, or in the post-game banter.

it's been fun being part of the concacaf alliance so far, but Mex-Ticos would be war.

So do the next matches get played in more famous stadiums and such? Not sure how the locations work in this stuff. Is there a mega-stadium prepared for the finals and this next round?

Doesn't Nigeria have alot of shit going on with them right now. I remember ESPN even mentioned something political happening at the same time as the Cup.

Probably stressing out

Islamist insurgents have been attacking population centers with bombs during the WC. Boko Haram is one of the worst insurgent groups in Africa right now.

Same stadiums, they only really select stadiums based on reputation and history for the final.

You can't sit back and judge them from a stable western country where so much is taken for granted.

Players in African nations have to fight for everything they want or they'll get ripped off. I cannot begin to describe how bad corruption is across Africa, especially when there's guaranteed money.

People in first world countries grow up knowing that, if someone says you're getting paid X for a job, you'll receive X, and if not, there are formal processes you can go through to get it. It's not like that over there, if you don't fight for what's yours and guard it 24/7, there are a dozen people in line to rip you off.

I am Nigerian, i was born and raised in Nigeria. Nigeria is a leader in the African continent when it comes to corruption, so i know all about it. All i am saying is this, they should play for their countries FIRST then money. Most countries playing in this world cup are playing for the pride of their country, and it reflects when they play. You can dispute your Bonuses AFTER you get out, if they refuse drag them to court. Fortunately the judicial system in Nigeria has matured by leaps and bounds in just half a decade, they can force the government to conform. If the government refuses to pay after the fact then drag their ass to court and they will pay up. Quarreling over Bonuses when you are still in the competition completely demoralizes the team and instead of focusing on how to beat their next opponent their sole focus will be on that money talk. And there is the fact of many of this African countries not being united, many Nigerians in Nigeria do not consider themselves Nigerian. They will always identify with their ethnicity (Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba) first before identifying as Nigerian. This is all leads to rather apathetic players.
