Thinking of buying Xenoblade to play through before getting X but was wondering can I use my Wii U pro controller with it or do I need to get a Wii controller?
The wii remote controls are disgusting. You will need the Wii classic controller pro to play it, the wii u one wont work as said above.

Not a chance.

Found the Wii remote to be more than suitable for multiple playthroughs of Xenoblade chronicles.

Errr... i played Xenoblade with the remote and it worked just fine. You even have more freedom to put your hands/arms where you want.

wii mote + nunchuck is the only true way to experience the game its battle system.
Pro Controller controls are more of a hindrance than anything.

Wiimote controls are not for everyone ofc, but when you master them, you wouldn't want to go back.

I absolutely disagree. Being able to navigate the menus and move the character at the same time is nice, but it's in no way needed to master the game. I wouldn't want to give away an easy way to move the camera freely for that.

But, yes, both ways are absolutely playable and in the end nothing but a matter of taste. If all you have is Wiimote and Nunchuk you'll still be able to enjoy the game just fine.

Yeah, if you look through the trailers you can see there are quite a few different models. I'm wondering if there's a "special" Doll that you'll end up using later on or if it's just whatever you obtain/purchase/acquire.

Of course there will be an "ultimate mech". Much like how it was in XenoSaga.

Erde Kaiser gonna fuck shit up!

Something worth mentioning about XBC.

- TP system.
- Arts have double cool down in this game, makes it stronger.
- Mech.
- Class system. You can use arts from multiple classes, and switching between classes during battles is allowed.
- Multiple Weapon choice for each character(Melee/Range).
- B button QTE is now called Soul Voice, increase Soul Stage which gives you some benefits.
- Weathers and areas now give you buffs and debuffs.
- Break specific body parts on enemies to get loots.
- Kizuna Action Level, don't know what it is but it exist. Maybe a different kind of affinity system.
- Chain attack is mentioned in party commend table.
- Skill system still exist, but not detailed in Treehouse footage.
- Can only change time of the day at specific locations.
- Sprint.
- You can modify/strengthen your weapon, not sure if reversible.
- break/topple/daze system seems to be changed, still obscure.

I need this game ASAP.

Started a new game, finally.

On Dolphin, starting a new game for the fourth time but this time with the HD texture pack from the Dolphin forum.

Holy shit, probably better than any HD upscale Ninty would give us. First time trying HD textures and no regrets.

Nice! You wouldn't happen to have an album of shots with that HD texture pack. I'd love to take a look through it.

If it was easy to get Wii Mode to run with the gamepad I am sure Nintendo would have done it. yet again who knows how Nintendo thinks when they think Twitch streaming is no fun :P

also hate that WiiU does not keep track of my time spent on Wii Mode

Nope, but I can give you the three others so-so shots I took. That's all I have so far. :)

Here. (If someone thinks I'm abusing don't hesitate to say it I shall put them off ASAP.)

This really shows off Reyn's facial animations. I had no idea they were that prounounced.

Also, Dunban's mouth looks noticeably...soft?

I need some tips on where to grind my level from 87s to 99s without going after 100 level UMs

or the best cheese party to beat 100UMs

played for hours last night fighting monsters and trying to spawn my last BLB

:( that took forever still did not level up anyone

I heard Three Sages' Summit at Valak Mountain is fine for 95-99, and Tephra Cave for 90-95. Alò
camoth to get to 90, these level 80+ Telethia have good xp

thanks, this will be very helpful as I grind until the end

I almost forgot how epically big some doors are in this game lol

this world makes you feel so tiny

it is taking me a while to remember everything off to grind a bit

Does Dolphin still suffer from the annoying stutter and audio pops with Xenoblade? Last I checked those were unavoidable regardless of setup, which still makes me lean toward playing on the console even if it is SD.

There are versions and set ups available specifically for Xenoblade that fix most problems.
I played through the entire game with basically no problems.

Interesting, need to look into that. Urge has been rising recently to replay this modern classic. The soundtrack is too good.

Do you you Exp Up gems or do you have combat boots? Those plus skill trees that give exp boost can make things easier to level up. Or why not try doing quests? Those provide more exp than grinding sometimes.

Yeah, once we get the flying mech they may not be as useful. However, it may also depend on how the fuel and fast travel system works. Should we be able to drive them, they may be lifesavers in some cases. And they have turrets on them, so maybe they're combat ready.

Mechs... don't fit cracks.

What are your specs?

I'm building and I want to play this =3

I forgot where to mine level 5 EXP gems

I have to relearn everything so hard to remember all of these things

See those Dolphin shots really showcase how expressive Xenoblade's facial animations are (videos even more so).

Which is why I'm kind of worried since the ones in the Treehouse footage and the story trailer didn't seem to have that same kind of range.

I guess I'll wait for more footage to compare. Might be something that they'll improve on later.

So, this "Beyond the Logos Artificial Destiny Emancipator" device that's apparently implanted in your head - it has the same function as the Monado, which is to preempt and subvert "destiny".

Considering that, this screen

now has me very curious.

Dolphin is more CPU dependent, rather then GPU. Such is the case with most emulators, PCSX2 is another heavy CPU dependent emulator.

I run the HD Texture pack with pretty much no issues, my specs are as follows

i5 3570k @ 3.4Ghz (No overclocks), HD7950 3GB GDDR5, and 8GB Ram @ 1866Mhz.

I'd think anything you build today for about $700 (Newegg, Amazon, and Microcenter price watching, using PCParkpicker) should be more then sufficient to max most games.

You can probably save money by reusing your HDD and DVD Burner like I did.

You think it might be similar like with the device used with Meyneth?

why did the NPC go out of her way to say you can go down there? I have to rewatch the Treehouse stuff but I don't think the no fall damage is because of the demo it even has a cool landing animation
If you jump down it's quicker but there are tougher enemies down there. She was warning you but still telling you that you have the freedom to do whatever you want.
And yes, there is no fall damage.

I guess if they remove fall damage it's because there are some places where you could fall right near high level enemies that could murder you.

I could never get Xenoblade to work on the emulator. The sound was always so glitchy, and the graphics had some stuttering. Even though I can run most PS2 games on PCSX2 no problem. Went ahead and started to play on the WIi U. But yeah, this game screams for an HD release.

Hmm? I'm referring to the "Internal Organs Firearms" bit of the component list. I've discussed it in the second X thread, but couldn't come to a definitive conclusion on what it was. Now that we know this game's Monado is implanted within your head, it made me wonder if there could be biological components to the Dolls. Here's a post Zenaku made on the matter:

Zenaku said:
Faces from Xenoblade.
Essentially, they used human organs in their systems. The first Faces, like Xord, were just brains and a few organs, while later ones had near-complete bodies.
It makes me wonder if the base technology is the same.

I'm starting to think along similar lines. But at the same time, if that's truly the case, it'd make the pilots redundant. I dunno; still not sure what to make of this.

Anyways, here's the "B.L.A.D.E." device in question (along with what some believe to be Zohar in the upper left):
idrABJ1TwriPf.png

Hmmm....so they really might be merging all the Xeno concepts together with the Monado and the Zohar. Interesting. And experimenting on humans to do so no less. Hmmmm...

Plot keeps getting more interesting. Good research guys!

On another note, it is mentioned in the Treehouse live demo that 2 alien factions are at war and the human race was just collateral damage. So the humans may be up against 2 races, with one of them with cat-like looks as seen from the trailer. Or maybe 1 of the two factions will be humanity's ally later on.
