It's not my personal opinion. It is a fact. I'm also not arguing, I'm making a statement. I could argue that the mainline series is the... mainline series, but it doesn't need to be argued. If someone asks me to make an argument then I will, but until then I will state fact as fact. You're not making much of a coherent argument that the X games are not "mainline" Mega Man games other than a generic: "You're wrong and I'm right, so there!". Your personal opinion isn't as much of persuasive argument that you think it is. Creating an arbitrary definition about what is or is not a "mainline" Megaman game is silly. Categories are only useful to discussion if other people generally agree with you on their use. If you find yourself in an argument with other people over definitions, than you have already lost.
If you look back at my posts in this thread, you'll see that I already talked about this very subject. But I'll reiterate, there's a huge difference between first and third party characters. Marth and Ike are in because Fire Emblem deserves representation as a big first party franchise. Marth and Ike are in because they've contributed most to the series and Marth gets the highest priority because he was both the OG and he's appeared in the most games. When it comes to third parties, the ones who've made it in to the Smash series so far OWN their respective series'. There are no other characters from their franchises to consider. That is not the case with Castlevania. In any event, since when did a character have to be the sole representative of their series to be considered for Smash Bros.? Marth and Ike have only been in a minority of the games in the Fire Emblem series, for example. Since the series doesn't have a consistent world, let alone cast, it makes sense for them to choose the most iconic and or popular characters from the series to represent it.

I really don't know what to tell you at this point other than that's not true. I'll put in a question at Ask Capcom if you really want. You can be internally in denial all you want, but don't outwardly deny that a fact is not a fact.
(Classic) Mega Man was the original and is the face of Mega Man, and so for a Mega Man rep, he gets in over X, Zero, etc.No, classic Mega Man is always the main character of the classic Mega Man series, whereas Simon is only the main character of the games where he's the main character. He may be the most well known Castlevania character, but he doesn't have a series to his own, similarly to Marth or Ness. Simon is not comparable to classic Mega Man, or any of the other third parties.
It's a trophy. It's up on miiverse in Japanese.
Beat me to it.

"Pic of the day. Here's a Poppant, an enemy that appeared in the previous game in this series. Poppants will appear in Smash Run, scampering around as they drop a variety of items."

"There are other bonus characters that appear in this game, too. Here's an Iridescent Glint Beetle from the Pikmin series. Keep hitting it!! Keep hitting it for gold!!"
Masahiro is my hero.
The double-edged blade of the E3 blowout -- a whole lotta "I'd be really excited if this weren't shown at E3"It's kind of a shame, I would be really excited for the Iridescent Glint Beetle if it hadn't been revealed already at E3.
Ah, well. It's still a really cool enemy to use for Smash Run.
There is a ton Sakurai could be talking about that he isn't, though. Give me 2 weeks of Palutena moves. A Smash Run enemy that is just fodder? Bleh. The double-edged blade of the E3 blowout -- a whole lotta "I'd be really excited if this weren't shown at E3"

It was a red Pikmin...
I actually do not want to see anything else from Smash Run, I want it to surprise me as much as possible.
Would've been nice if each course was randomly generated or something like that. But it probably wasn't right for the idea that they had for the mode. City trial wasn't randomly generated, but from what I recall random ass events and stuff would happen that kept it fun, and fresh for a while.
Poppants are just a poor man's Souflee.
you guys are so greedy for info lol. this is what happens when sakurai treats you, you just develop an immunity to nuggets of info, you need purer and purer grades of hype before you can get that blast
