So some people are actually upset that they hired "two white guys"? The fuck.
So Giantbomb HAD to hire at least one girl/black/asian/hispanic/spanish/native america/indian for all this to be ok?
Fucked up world we live in. People complain about every little thing and have to make everything this huge fucking deal.
I'm sure if they could have hired a female, they would have. Maybe that just didn't work out. Maybe they'll get one soon. Who knows! But it's not like there's some minority agenda going on at Giantbomb.
Why would anyone HATE them over this. It's insane.
Also, it just sounds extremely sus that Quinn openly stated she applied for the job and didn't get it and "isn't too bummed about it". And in her following tweet she says that she really doesn't want to hate them over not hiring a female and doesn't want anyone yelling at her if she doesn't hate GB...

That's actually why I liked the bombcast in the first place. They're all super-distinct to me. Usually I find it hard to distinguish voices, like on idlethumbs and 8-4.

People are used to the voices of the regular cast. This is the first time hearing Dan and Jason for most people so they'll sometimes sound similar.
I have this problem when I am just starting to listen to a new podcast. I usually think everyone sounds the same and can't tell who's who.

My experience is that the GB mods are by and large really good, and some of the best I've seen after years and years in different internet communities. It's only natural that people in this thread get a bad impression when people only post about the GB mods whenever they "fuck up".
Yeah same. In the case of 8-4 I find it easier to distinguish Mark, John, JJ once I saw them on video, but when they have guests/interns on I have some trouble. I still have trouble telling Jake and Sean apart, though.

That's because they don't sound alike at all.
It's the problem of people taking a huge, societal issue and trying to apply (their) conclusions from that macro level discussion on a micro-economic scale. It's a logical fallacy.
I got Vinny and Brad confused for ages. Even now it'll take me a few seconds to figure it out if they're both on at the same time.

Also I'm pretty sure I saw "Not all white dudes" used in earnest earlier in the thread and nobody called them out on it. I mean the point was solid that the GB crew has some relatively varied experience but the wording is hilariously dumb to use right now and I was surprised it didn't immediately lead to mocking

I've listened to Idle Thumbs since the very first episode and I STILL find it hard to distinguish voices that aren't Chris Remo's sometimes. It's only in the last year or so I've got better at picking out if it's Jake or Sean.

So this Game Informer piece/video is pretty much on par with what Giant Bomb would do. It has both Dan and Jason (camera man). If this is what we can expect, then I think everything will be alright.

This reminds me of that one email Idle Thumbs got this year.
It was about some dudes girlfriend/wife and how she had this mental image of the group after listening to them for so long...and then she watched some video with them and her mind was completely blown away or something.
I'm pretty sure I remember the email said she was disappointed with how they all actually look like, haha.

Do either of the new people play PC games? Dave and Vinny's random pc game was the best feature on the site.
They're enthusiastic about games now? Maybe I should tune in again.

I think danielle from polygon joins in with them now and she actually plays games, which is refreshing for a change. 
Nick had an absolutely hilarious story about The Forest last time he was on (week before last I think)

I gave it an honest shot for a few months after a friend recommended it, but it was mostly a downer to listen to and I found myself disagreeing with a lot of their points of view or thinking them to be purposefully obtuse at times for the sake of dumping on something AAA. Then it became the spelunkycast at which point I kind if figured I was good.
I found the odd discussion to be good but at the end it wasn't my bag.
it's still a lot more down then it used to be. When Chris basically was forced to play a whole range of games/cover news that didn't necessarily interest him but could occasionally trigger a sense of outrage back in season one (and when Nick was around to play off him as well) I found the cast more entertaining. it's still good but it's nowhere near as amusing as I think it used to be.
I mean, the chances of a cast going completely off the rails because of dwarf sex is probably close to 0% at this point

Doubtful considering Friday is a national holiday in the United States.
No, I don't think he was on the GI Show (the GI podcast) much. Come to think of it, I can't remember Ryckert being a regular on that show either (even if he was on from time to time), but it's been a while since I've listened.
Jason did some independent podcast back in the day though, from what I hear, before he joined GI.
