They're also streamed on the National Channel Webpage, so pretty much everyone can watch them.

They are not locked behind cable channels in the USA. You just need to watch them in Spanish. I have two local broadcast channels showing the games.

But if you have no Spanish channel then you may be out of a luck.

In other countries almost everyone has cable. Well in almost all modern countries. Otherwise it will probably not be locked behind paid subscription. It may also have to do with the popularity it was a national sport would it not be view able for all?

I think that Switzerland is one of the rare countries where public television broadcasts every single match.

If Univision can forego their schedule for a month why can't ABC? I know in the US networks have independent local affiliates but so does Univisión and yet the manage. I'm sure today's 4pm EST USA game will have higher ratings than anything ABC affiliates will be showing at that time.

be thankful ABC doesn't show the games becasue their HD feed is atrocious, especially against their sister station ESPN. it's really outrageous. but i do understand the desire for the games to be aired on network, rather than cable. either way, i watch on univision even though i don't understand a lick of spanish.
