I don't have a problem with that, but anyone who watched the completely can easily say that we played really bad in the first 90 minutes. Now if you want to turn the events the way you like, then sure go ahead. But keep that thing up when other teams plays - Argentina, Germany etc. The amount of shit they get when they score 1 goal or goal less in extra time is unbelievable.

Did the person you quoted make such statements? If not, you don't have a point.

Just because other people do it doesn't mean you should, especially if the person you are directly quoting has nothing to do with it.

Hahaha! Come on Belgium!! We are in the quarterfinals!!

USA played bravely, but you guys should keep playing your own sports! It's funny, 11 million defeated 300+ million. Pretty glad that all the Team USA bullshit is over now.

BTW, Courtois is better than Howard, who played the game of his life.

That was an amazing game. I'm glad the Belgian team showed they could play football that was fun to watch as well, after our mostly boring group stage.

After this match, it's hard to say that victory is a lock for Argentina. Finishing chances is a big problem for this team, but they play well together and there were some amazing passes... Honestly most of the team did very well tonight. Only big problem was finishing, and once again Wilmots subs at the perfect time with Lukaku.
On our side most guys played well, but De Bruyne and Vertonghen were standouts.

Why are you reading my tag instead of the title of my post?
The next MLS game that I can go to (going to RTX) is the Houston Dynamo on July 19th, which is also my birthday. I know what I'm doing for my birthday. Link to that MLS thread?

MLS fans, Kaka was signed... is his new team any good?

They absolutely dominate USL Pro. Not sure how much that means though.

I think they'll be decent, and the fan support should be great. Kaka was also a very exciting signing for them.

The way most people do it I guess, is (assuming you're an American):

Start watching matches with American players involved. In the PL, Howard at Everton would be a good shout, or Dempsey at a club like the Sounders. From there, you might find yourself following that team more.

Or Arsenal might beat Everton 6-0 one day and you'll think "fuck that team was awesome to watch, gonna watch them more", so you decide to do that.

I think an easy way for a lot of new fans to join in is to watch the Champions League, because even without affiliations it's fun to see the big guns go at each other.

Yeah I really do need to get into watching the Euro stuff. I watch MLS quite a bit but didn't know there was a thread for it :X

When does it usually come on TV in the US? Or, does it at all? I think the Premiere League was on either ABC or NBC last season, dunno if they will be this year. I guess ESPN 3 if nothing else, but I dunno if even they show them.

I think this Belgium squad has a lot more to give. I was probably the only one who was actually reasonably impressed by them in the group stages, and I think even more of them now. They just have a really deep squad and lots of options, and not many weaknesses.

If they play at their best I really believe they should beat Argentina.

Get out.

Goddamn, that ending, I think my heart nearly failed. The animal-like roar I unleashed when we finally scored, and when we fucking pulled through, must've deafened the people standing next to me. :lol

Fantastic match, good show by the US. Stonewall Howard, goddamn.

Unlucky US. I wanted you to go through to the next round. Americans getting excited about football is something i find amusing. However you guys winning the World Cup would be a fate worst than death. I can see the jokes now:

"We don't even call this sport by its proper name!"

"Look no hands!"

"Crying bald eagles and America fuck yeah all over this bitch!"

"Everyone else is so free it might as well be the World Series"

America failed because it doesnt care about soccer. If it had anywhere near the following of football, baseball, hockey, or even basketball, there would be enough talent generated and distilled to produce a worthwhile team.

Luckily for you, they don't have to be at their best. ARG could very well just beat themselves out. It's a great tradition in the quarters.

You think I give a fuck if you shit talk Chelsea

Nothing would please me more

(Except shit talking Liverpool and arsenal and man City and Newcastle and Everton and spurs and Real Madrid and Bayern and Barca and inter and PSG and QPR and CONCACAF and GAF and existence)

Lmao. Can I just come in to talk shit with you?

There's no team I really support over in Europe, and since I'm in the west coast USA I miss most games anyways. So I'll probably mostly drop by for Champions league games since I already watch that every year. You guys seem like a fun bunch, definitely want to join in.

Hope this puts an end to the Bradley hate. You don't drop a player that has that kind of vision - the lack of creativity in the midfield is shocking. You just have to free him up to do what he does best, slip in those killer balls.

It's definitely on telly there, not sure what channels (I'm a Brit m8, Forza UEFA). Think it's NBC? SOMEONE HELP

He is tho. Howard is fantastic, but watching them all year round, Courtois is arguably the best in the world.

Fellaini was dreadful. All he did was making fouls and complain like a baby.

Also, Hazard could do better when he's at the ball. Sometimes a bit too selfish.

De Bruyne, Vertonghen and Kompany DA GAWDS. Those guys were tireless.

Sure if you disregard the first 90 minutes of the game.

The point still stands, and it was a solid effort overall today. Howard kept us in it of course, and we had our chances to send Belgium home. If you don't think US Men's Soccer is on the upswing the last two cups, then you can't see the forest for the trees.

??? If anything, we wonder why you guys prefer handegg over football. Never heard rejection towards the US personally.

Football will always be closer to home than soccer. American Football has established teams, history, cultural significance, and is an embedded part of our culture. Soccer is just now in it's infancy in terms of building that, so it's not rocket surgery to figure out why it's more popular.

You realize i don't care ? Also the over patriotism of americans annoys me, and not just in football. Actually the football side of it is the less annoying part of it.

I'm just happy to see the USA dreams crushed by Belgium.

You do know it's like 99% a joke, right? People are genuinely proud if their country and happy for the team but the presidents shooting guns, teachin' lady, eagles crying, and so on are just jokes. It's poking fun at the over the top patriotism by reveling in it. A parody basically. You should stop getting annoyed at things that don't matter. Life will be much better.

You know what's funny? If you'd ask a Belgian what his country is famous for, he would NEVER EVER answer waffles.

Yep, this waffles thing is baffling. If you want to pick one symbol, pick fries, beer, or chocolate, but waffles... nope

I can't wait to see them compete in the Euros in 2016. They're definitely in their golden age right now which is why I don't feel bad about losing to them.

I would still maintain that England played better in their first two games than USA did, England were just playing tougher competition. But that's neither here nor there. My point was that you can't compare teams across groups.

Germany?

Germany didn't win all of them, they couldn't

germany, portugal > Costa Rica, Italy

The Bradley bashing is out of hand. He wasn't playing his best but he was critical in a lot of ways. The bigger issue is that he was basically forced into learning two new positions just before the WC started, and not having Jozy up front forced him to have to play in a really different way than he has for years.

Absolutely! Drop by any time.

They need to be a lot more effective in scoring.
On the other hand, they probably can't play this open against the Argentines.... Though they don't seem to be in great shape.
But give Messi some space, and you're done.

Again one good play does not excuse absolute dogshit play from him. He was terrible in every single game the U.S. played in the world cup, and I don't give a shit if he made one good assist. The man had trouble retaining the ball, and making simple three foot passes the entire game. How many times did he give the possession away to Belgium in this game? He kept doing it over and over and over again.

True! Ha

I have no stake in Belgium by the way, I just like their squad. Also, it has a lot of Everton or former Everton players.
