PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Is it just me or is the framerate and overall speed of doki doki universe on the vita horrible?

I can play it perfectly fine on the PS3 but on the vita it feels just bad overall.

It's just a thing in store that costs $5 instead of $20, but you can only buy it if you have the original PS3/Vita game.
I'm gonna ask you, "Where is the option? I cant find it". And then you're gonna say "I live in EU". Correct?

Persona is the only game where I've used more than 1 or 2 save slots during a playthrougb. They give you like 30 or 40ish so I just save each day in a new slot. This lets me rewind to correct any big mistake on a day by day basis within the last month or so. It's a huge time saver.

Same here. I used like 6 save slots for that game.

After Freedom Wars I think we can all agree that that rumored physical release for SSDelta in Europe was bullshit.

Okay guys, I'm going to take a deep breath, wait, interiorize the 5 stages of grief and try to not say something that will devalue my opinions or ban me from GAF.

I'm not going to get angry. Not at all...

Is anybody able to initiate a Vita remote-download from the web store? It's still loading indefinitely when I try to do it from my download list, this is pretty annoying...

The FW thing is so dumb and ridiculous that I'm still not convinced it's gonna happen for real. It's completely moronic.

hey PS-GAF...getting my PS4 tomorrow in anticipation for the Destiny beta this month. thinking about getting the vita as a complement device. not sure on the purchase yet though.

Personally, don't get it to compliment your PS4 purchase unless there are also titles on the Vita you want/think you'll enjoy.

The awful truth is that you are buying the vita and getting the PS4 as a complement device.

You have a vocaloid avatar but are buying a PS4 before a Vita for a Destiny beta?

I guess you can't judge a book by its cover.

Probably wouldn't buy any games for it. Planning on using it primarily for PS+ games and remote play. I'll consider buying one used from cowboom or something.

can't resist that PS+ value

Do you have a lot of extra money for your Vita if you would get one? If you are interested in a Vita, you need PS+ and at the very least a 16GB memory card to fully take advantage of the device (the former for the free games every month and sales while the latter is needed for digital content). If you can get those, then go right ahead and get a Vita :D; despite Sony's not wanting to support it, there are many wonderful games on the hardware, BC with PS1/PSP tittles that you might have not played in the past and the Remote Play with PS4 reportedly works wonderfully :D (if you have a 4G Phone and set it as a hot spot for your Vita, you can play your PS4 games on the go, though I don't know how playable they will be).

If you do have the money, then get a Vita too; it is a wonderful system :).

I got that feeling too and I've yet try either the PS3 or PS4 version.

baha, you can't. this will actually be my first handheld purchase since the GBA if I go through with it. liked what I saw with the vita when I borrowed it though.

played a bit on PSP though, albeit through an emulator.

predominantly a PC guy

Torn between:

Mind Zero (I've heard its flaws compared to Persona).
Soul Sacrifice Delta (never played SS)
Blaze Blue Chrono Phantasma (never played a Blaze Blue game, I know what it is though)
Atelier Rorona Plus (looks great, but I'm not sure if I'll dig the crafting system being such a massive focus).

I guess the obvious is, what genres do you like. TBH I pretty much like all genres. This is what I currently have installed on my Vita:

Demon Gaze (Finished)
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F(Ongoing)
Zero Escape Virtue's Last Reward (Finished)
Hotline Miami (Finished but I replay this all the time)
Persona 4 Golden (Finished but have replayed it like 4 times now)
Olli Olli (Ongoing)
Persona 3 Portable (Finished by have replayed it like 4 times now)
Monster Monopiece (Ongoing)
Hyperdimension Neptunia PP (Ongoing, kind of regret this purchase =/ )
Sword Art Online Hollow Fragment (Ongoing. Having fun).

It was my first handheld since gba too. Became my primary device over ps3/ps4 until it got lost. It has a great library so take advantage of that, hope you've been saving ps+ Vita games over the past few years too. The price of entry may seem high but once youre through the door it's smooth sailing. Enjoy the "dreamcast 2.0"

Oh btw i saw some 7s and an 8 for vita 2k on cowboom todayfor 160$. You should jump on them.

Of the two I've played I'd suggest SSD over Rorona - they are such massively different games though that it's hard to suggest one or the other! Bearing in mind your other games you may click with Rorona more easily as you'll get lots of talking head character development along with the crafting and adventuring

Didn't know we were getting two free games this month for PS4.

Tower Ascension
Strider

Only gonna get strider as I dont care for the multiplayer game.

No reason not to snag Tower Ascension, who knows what the future brings and tagging it takes nothing but an extra second.

I guess if Freedom Wars doesn't get a retail release in Europe we can definitely conclude that Oreshika 2 won't get one either right?

I can feel your pain :(

It can be played single player, it really is an AWESOME game, give it a try and play it with friends (locally) if you get the chance

Its not multiplayer only. Its got a great quest mode. Also dont you have friends?

Also its three games this month.

I just got my 64GB, now I really just want to buy and download everything from PSN...FF7 is calling my name.
Also, PSN is super slow with downloading on the Vita tonight, its been a while, so I don't know if its normally how it is, or just super slow today.

Damn 3 games!? Damn Sony killing it, what's the third???

I guess I'll try it.

I have people on my PS4 friendslist, but they aint my "friends".
None of my friends play games.

Mind Zero has gotten very mediocre reviews and is most likely the worst of the bunch, so skip that.

SSD is a fast-paced hunting game with a lot of content. I've spent 100+ hours in the game already. I can definitely recommend it.

I don't know much about BlazBlue.

The Atelier games play very differently from most JRPGs. You have to make everything from equipment to consumables yourself. If that doesn't sound appealing to you, you probably won't like Rorona. I usually play the game in short bursts at a time.

Yep, that's what's going to happen - there's no upgrade option for North Americans.

Yeah. Well AU, which is basically the same. Kind of odd that US doesn't get it as well, maybe it will come later?

On another note I was down at the shopping center just now and I decided to pick up One Piece Unlimited while I was there. Also found Lumines for $10 so I figured why not, even though I kind of want a digital version instead.

In any case my physical collection is growing nicely, albeit slowly.

Is Another World worth buying? I think I played the SNES version many moons ago, and I really don't remember it. Is it worth $10?
