PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Seeing how nicely Rachet runs on Vita it makes me sad when I think about the Jak trilogy.

I got it at launch through crossbuy and nearly immediately deleted it due to the terrible performance.

Did it ever get patched?

I don't know, but if it DID get fixed, then I'm sure Gaf would have had a better view of the game at this point instead of always ragging on it :l. It is a damn shame to :(; the Jak games are perfect fits for Vita and if the collection was good, then they would have been awesome to have on the go...

At least the Sly and Ratchet Collections run good on Vita :).

Edit: Wow, my first time being on top of the page :D!

My Vita recommendations are Steamworld Dig (I think its on sale this week in NA) and Guacamelee PS4; both are great games with the former being tons of fun and the latter being a killer Metroidvanna :D. Get both if you can :).

Bought Child of Light today. I absolutely love the artwork and I'll pretty much buy anything that uses this Ubiart Engine - as silly as that sounds.

I hope Ubisoft continue to be THE mid-tier vita publisher because so far, their games have been stellar.

Having said that, I'm not really the "rpg guy" so I'm banking on this title being a good entry point to the genre.

You don't play RPG's that much? Well, I'm sure you saw the praise on Gaf about this already, but if you have the time, give Persona 4 Golden a shot :). I got it two months ago myself (in the same camp as you too; only played the Mario RPG's and KH's) and just fell in love with it :D. It shouldn't be that expensive to find, so if you are interested, give the game a go :).

As for Child of Light, I don't own it yet, but the game looks beautiful (can't imagine how good it looks on the Vita screen; both Rayman games are some of the best looking games on Vita) and the gameplay looks fun too. Hope you enjoy it man :D.

Thanks! I do have P4G and I've put about 5 hours into it.

I know it's bordering on sacrilege to say this around here... But it didn't really grab me. I'll go back to it at some point.

I imagine it is. It hasn't been too tough so far and there is a basic entry-level skill tree for each character and a really basic crafting system as well so it will ease you into RPG systems.

I feel the same way. I'll buy this just to encourage them to make more UbiArt games, hopefully for Vita too.

And hopefully it'll be the gentle introduction to JRPGs that I need to get back to Persona 4 and then FFX...

Freedom Wars is digital only on the PAL region? C'mon SCEE, I thought you wouldn't screw us over like this with a new IP. I guess I shouldn't have faith in them when they gave Delta a digital-only release despite there being a English retail release. (in Asia I think)
The awful truth is that you are buying the vita and getting the PS4 as a complement device.
Although I bought my Vita before my PS4 this is the honest truth for me.

Did it ever get patched?
Sadly no.
The first DLC I was a little iffy on and the second I still have yet to touch but god damn this one looks like it's going to be amazing. Trailer got me super hyped.

This conversation on Deception IV was from... yesterday morning, but I hate leaving it un-replied!

I bought it during the sale too, and have been pleasantly surprised by how much I like it. My only two complaints are a) ridiculously barely-there costumes on the main women (though your female targets aren't dressed like sex objects so I guess it's a demon thing) and b) the initial charge-up time on traps means you have to plan pretty far ahead in advance and for some reason your target doesn't run over the trigger properly you have to circle back and hope they walk over it this time. Oh, and you have to remember to reset the trap chain.

Other than those two minor things, I've really enjoyed it. I especially like the steady stream of secondary goals your minions give you.

Yeah, given the nature and origin of the main characters, having no shame and wearing whatever they please makes a lot of sense. It is pretty ridiculous, but they're not trying to emphasize this aspect too strongly, like most games on Vita that have girls with barely-there clothes.

Circling back around and remembering to restart the chain are nice little mini-punishes to messing up the first time. I'm surprised how little it bothers me... maybe because it feels expected in a game of this style. Heck, I half expect each new room to require loading time, lol.

The goals are great too, agreed. I didn't expect the 3 servents to be so involved in gameplay, so it's nice to see they're more than simple window dressing.

I'm surprised how much I've wanted to get back to it over the day...

Oh good. Will we get a replacement title?

Fingers crossed but I imagine they will still go with Batman 2 since we haven't heard a word about it in 20ish hours now. The deal with WB is already done, maybe they can hold it over until next month but not sure how the contracts are done.

I'm sure it will be back soon. They pulled it from the IGC page to avoid people buying it full price by error.

child of light on PS4 or vita? Seems ideal for portable play, but I imagine that art would really be amazing on a big TV

Personal preference, but I'd go Vita due in part to the style of gameplay. The art does look nice on a large TV though.
does it play well with remote play? I'd most likely be playing it at home anyway, so that might be a good compromise
Don't have a PS4 so you'll probably have to ask someone in the OT thread whose tried remote play.

PSA: IT'S THE 3DS VERSION

Developed by a different TT team, very linear, very average graphics,

Didnt know that before i googled it. Now im not interested in it anymore and hope that Sony replace it with something else. Hopefully no Lego game because they all have no free roam.

Maybe we will get Blackgate :D

or another shitty DS Lego game.

Why Child of Light on PS Vita does not support cross-buy?! :( Ubisoft's plans to add this option or those who have already bought on the PS4 do not shine?

I played through 80% of the game via remote play and it was excellent. The controls translate really well and touch screen stuff is completely optional (controlling Igniculus). If anything I think I enjoyed playing it on the Vita more than the PS4. The OLED made the art-style really "pop".

Cant believe all that fits on the 64GB card

Kinda update on the LEGO Batman 2 situation 3 hours or so ago

Hi,

We are aware of the issues around this and have been working to get this fixed. It may take just a little longer due to a small technical problem, but I will report back once I get a new update, which hopefully won’t be very long.
