Official Destiny Alpha Withdrawal Thread

What games are you playing until Beta?

I went through the typical "I can't play anything!" phase, that most people seem to have gone through. Then I tried Borderlands 2 thinking it was the closest thing, and it just made me depressed since it wasn't Destiny. I'm playing through Splinter Cell Blacklist now, picked up cheap during the Steam sale, and I find it helps that it's nothing at all like Destiny, so I can't really compare while playing.

I'm lucky in the fact that I have a massive backlog of games. Between now and 17th July I'll be hoping to finish:

MGS4
MGS Ground Zeros
Assassins Creed 4
Transistor

I've also not played a single PS+ game on PS4, PS3 or Vita in the last 3 months so I have them all saved up to play.

Then it's onto Destiny. I'm just hoping that the level cap in the Beta is at least level 10. I'm desperate to try out a few of the rarer guns and armor.

I'm playing Dead Space 2 atm. It's alright. Apparently I'm only like a third of the way through, in which case it's too long.
 
i was thinking about locations in Destiny...

I though about venus, mars and Earth. I doubt right now that there will be only one location per planet, as we try every location other the moon between Alpha and Beta. It will be very disappointing if on 9th September we will get a game that has all locations already discovered.

Oh yeah, I picked up two level 12 blue armour pieces during the Alpha. That was tormenting :P

PS+ games are a great idea. Strider looks fun, and I've heard great things about Towerfall. Downloading them both atm. I'm also tempted to buy Valiant Hearts.

That's also on my list. It looks beautifully somber and right up my street. I'm starting to become a real game hoarder of late. I just keep on buying and never have the time to finish them.

I'm playing Dynasty Warriors 8 XL: CE for PS4. I never played a musou game, but I wanted something mindless and fluid I could play while I watch TV and it's really hitting the spot.

Between that and Shovel Knight, I should be OK til Sep 9.

Should be...

Yea me too will be a good distraction and makes me glad the beta is only 1 week as if it wasn't i'd probably keep playing Destiny at least to max level of the beta.
 
I have like zero decent games to play right now... anyone here played Dark Souls 2? I'm on the fence about it graphically. But it really would kill some serious time with this god awful wait.

Loved the 1st Souls.

TLOU isn't out yet :( is pre-ordered though!

I know of the game, but I have no idea what it is! It's a free download I guess, so I may as well try it out =P

Is the Hunter hype train still going strong? I tried out Titan and Warlock during the Alpha and preferred the Titan. I'll be making a Hunter for the Beta so I get some good experience with all three classes before the game launches.
 
Have they released any footage or screenshots of the PS3 version?

I think I will get in on the PS3 beta to try out the game. It looks awesome, but I really don't want to buy a PS4 for another year or two.

Not that I know of. They'll want to market the game in the best light possible, so PS4 footage is all you're likely to see for a while.

Take any PS4 screenshot, squint to make it all blurry, and imagine it running at 20 frames per second. That's your PS3 version.
