PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

Is Touch my Katamari good? I mean, We <3 Katamari was one of my favourite PS2 titles, is this anywhere near as fun/charming/silly/clever? I am hearing different things...

It's good (not full price good as Shizuka said), and also the most unforgiving of them. Some stages gave me problems I never had on older entries os the series. It's not about being broken or unfair, just needs you to make less mistakes/play more efficiently.

Guys, I've reached the point where I unlock the "B routes" in Dragon's Crown. I've beaten two bosses (the cyclops and Medusa). The latter quicked my ass quite badly with the petrifying skill. I have to press R in the right moment to evade it, right?

The cyclops were vastly easier.

The AI is not that helpful at this point. I discovered my income dropped hugely because I payed in order to resurrect them a couple of times.

For the medusa, you just need to be facing away from her head to avoid petrification. You can be petrified during evasion if your character is facing her on the evade animation.
As for the AI dying... let them die and save money, I guess. Can always find new bones.

You don't want to evade on Medusa unless you're paying close attention to which way you're facing and moving.

If you can find it for cheap, sure. It's a pretty nice game, but not for $40.

I guess he's asking because it's <7€ on Euro PSN.

I've yet to play it...got it with PS+ when it still used to gave me Vita game I was interested in/didn't bought yet. :/

So for the Anime Expo panel times,
Namco-Bandai's JRPG power hour is 3:30pm PDT/6:30pm eastern.
NISA's panel is 4:00pm PDT/7:00pm eastern.
Aksys' panel is tomorrow at 3:00pm/6:00pm eastern.

Hope we get some solid announcements. I'm wagering Hotaru no Nikki from NISA, hoping for God Eater 2 from NB, and have no idea what Aksys might show.

I would just solo it. More party members means the enemies have more health.

My god, I don't understand how I didn't try that. It's so obvious...

But I'm an Elf. That means I'm ranged. And being ranged means I'm soft and yummy. Aren't they going to kick my ass? Having some melee fighter taking some hits is always welcome. Most of the time I go with 2 people setups (sometimes 3 but then there is too much shit on screen for my tastes xD)

That was the problem I had when soloing as an elf. I wanted to but needed some teammates as a distraction. One day I will get back to it with some other characters.

Aksys will announce another otome game, I'm sure of it.

I really enjoyed P4G on Vita. I've seen that P3P is only £10 on sale...very tempted.

I know nothing about P3P, but I'm assuming I'll enjoy it based on how much I liked P4G? Or is it just gonna make me want to re-play P4G :P

If you liked P4G, get P3P. It's never been so discounted in Europe, and it's a great game.

If you are a PS+ subscriber I'd wait with buying until they add the additional 10% discount for PS+ members.

Thanks, downloading now on the EU sale... bit worried about the steeper difficulty curve but hopefully the game itself is still fun... I don't have PS2 anywhere near me :(

Get the game man :D! I got it when it was 5 bucks a month or so back and enjoyed it as much as I did P4G :).

The gameplay and design of the game is very similar to Persona 4; you are in a high school setting, you have to build up social stats to gain access curten social links, social links were introduced in Persona 3, and you explore a dungeon location at night with a big 'boss' shadow appearing every month.

What makes Persona 3 different from Persona 4 are a number of things. Firstly, the male character has a stricter way of dealing with social links, meaning for the female characters you HAVE to date all of them. This creates issues where your links will reverse or become broken if you aren't careful, but this can be rectified with the female MC (as her SL's handle the same way they were in Persona 4). Secondly, the dungeons you went in with Persona 4 are one HUGE dungeon in Persona 3 in the form of Tartarus.

This dungeon is randomly generationed like the ones in Persona 4 but you have to explore hundreds of floors and they sadly don't have that much to do with the main story until the end of the game.

Thirdly, the game is much darker then Persona 4, with a story being a strong reflection of that. I would say more but I don't want to spoil the games great story for you :D.

Lastly, the visuals in the PSP version (the one you are interested in) aren't nearly as great as they were in Persona 4 Golden and the original/FES version(s) of Persona 3. See, everything but the Tartarus dungeon is 2D art you explore via small circle with the analog stick. You may find this to be an issue but to me, it made the game really snappy going from place to place and the story is told with 2D art anyway in the original, so it isn't that much of an issue. The sound quality is great (with the soundtrack being some of the best I have ever heard in an RPG....even better then Persona 4's soundtrack)...just listen to this and this!

For the price you are getting it for, it is an amazing RPG and Altus and the Persona team did a great job making the game for PSP :D. It even has extra content from the original game (being able to play as a Female Main Character, more social links for her side of the story, more persona's to use, new tracks for the game, ect).

Get the game man, you will love it :D!

My friend told me that P4 improves the flaws that were in P3 and is better. I haven't gotten far in P3P so I don't really have an opinion. Also, note that in P3P, you're not a character running around. Instead, you're a blue circular icon; well, Tartarus is the only time you run around as the character. I'd check out youtube videos to get a better idea.

I'd say go and play it anyway

From beating the game once and doing this after beating Persona 4 Golden four times, I found that the PSP version was an improvement over the original P3 in a lot of ways :).

The health system is much more manageable in the PSP version (characters don't get 'Tired' within the dungeons, only once they leave the dungeons and you can even give then an item to make them not tired anymore).

The battle system is whole-sale lifted from Persona 4 rather than the original Persona 3 (you can control your party, can block attacks with the guard option).

The social links are more manageable with the Female Main character (and they are closer to the story, as can have a social link with all of you party members in the Female MC playthrough) and they have a lower chance of reversal/broken social links compared to the male main character.

You can do part-time jobs to get more money (a feature lifted from Persona 4) and some small cameo's from other Persona Teams games make an appearance here.

I solo'd the game as an Elf. I mostly used kick combos and used my arrows for finishers. Just hit and run, never stop moving.

Dragon Crown? Elf is the only way to play, just keep moving and jumping, dive kicking, shooting, knifing. All day.

Jump>Charged Shot>Air Evade>CS>Air Kick>CS>Air Evade>CS>Air Kick>CS>(Air evade>)Land>start over. Most stuff can't hit you if you're in the air, and charged shot delays your fall. edit: this is some endgame thing, tho, but can be useful earlier too.

When you run out of arrows, kick enemies to get some more.
Also, everything that the others have said.

Elf is a beast.

This is something I'd like to start playing too, but I have too many other vita games (needless to say games in general) that I keep bouncing off between: FFX, MGS3, Soul Sacrifice (vanilla), Dragons Crown, FF3.
So far it is awesome, but trophies aren't unlocked when targets are met. Never had this before and I hate it :(

Anyone having problems finding the PSone section on PSN? I can search them but there is no category for them on the PS3 or Vita PSN...so weird.

The Vita one was removed last month.

I can see it just fine. I'm using the Spanish Vita PSN Store, so maybe it's something regional?

In other news, the PS+ discount for the games on sale has not been applied yet. I'm going to bed. Hopefully it's up by the time I sit down to have breakfast...

what the fuck, I was wondering where it went.

How do I get PSOne games on my Vita now?

Edit: I can still buy them on the Webstore and just go to downloads list on my Vita right?

You can search them on Vita, but there is no category on the the Vita PSN.
Really strange.

Go to the far right on the banner carousel in the Vita store. You'll find "Now Available PSone". Tap on that. I don't understand why they would remove the main section, but I haven't understood most of what SCEA has done with Vita.

SCEA has messed up the Vita store recently. There's DLC for PS3 games and PSP games that don't work on Vita without PS3 transfer. In Canada, we also have a DLC folder for a game not released in the country.

Thats all I can say.

I see that thank you. Also looking around on the PSN site..no PSone section either.

If you click on the PSP section there is a filter for PSOne games.

Amazing right?

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic, but that's quite odd.

Well I bought FF7 (After realizing its never going on sale.)Dino Crisis 1&2 to help accompany my 64GB I bought for my Vita. I feel like that 64 has officially made my Vita as ultimate as it can be. I love it.

Okay, so let's see here;

 • Random unexplained outages for the last month in both regions (NA+EU) - check
 • A ton of maintenance lately - check
 • PSOne classics disappearing from the store/being moved - check
 • Issue with PS+ games being added to the IGC (LEGO Batman 2) - check

If I didn't know better, I'd think they were giving the PSN an organization overhaul - but there's no way Sony would pull an awesome stunt like that.

C'mon now... There's no reason to get our hopes up.

Is the Aksys panel at AX2014 on now? Is there anyone live tweeting or something?

EDIT: Nevermind it looks like the panel is... Tomorrow I think?

Sony is starting to make me feel really uncomfortable. on one hand they are trying to catch a younger demography with things like mine craft, Vita pets and invizimals, and at the same time they ok a game like criminal girls. Until now it have been pretty "harmless" (except for maybe mon monpiece) but now I am hoping for somone to step up and draw the line.

I found the whole cesorship debate that came before monster monpiece quite disturbing and the talk about artistic freedom is to me pure BS.

what is it that people see that I seem to be totally blind to?
