PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

I usually avoid Blitzball like the plague until I can recruit
Brother
in the 2nd half of the game, fast and high stats pretty much gets your shooters 1v1 with the goalie every time.

You can recruit Biggs and Wedge right at the start. Wedge is super good offensively then somehow becomes a goalie stat-wise in later levels. I remember using them a lot when I played the PS2 version.
I might wait until later in the game, then. I've signed Zev Ronso in midfield, Jumal in goal and Biggs but I haven't played him yet. The first two guys seem to be working out a bit better for me. I somehow even managed to get the tournament trophy.

Also, Tidus' pass stat is pretty bad. What a ball hog.

Finished Puddle. Wow, last level was really a POS...luckily I washed my mouth with the secret Pixel level.

but seriously, learning curve was messed up. 8-1 to 8-5 were ridiculously easy outside of 8-2, then 8-6 is bloody hard. oh well. Now I have to finish NGS+(I'm at chapter 12) then I think I won't touch any console for a while...

Tidus is there to shoot, not to pass the ball. Jecht Shot is key there, since it nulls 2 players. Once you've gotten better HP and you can use it >3 more times in a match the game is really easy.

We talking about P4G or something else here?

Persona 4 Golden. That dub they did for the song is quite well done.

I won't be here tomorrow. If someone wants to cover The Droppings, that'd be cool.

Would it be okay if I help out with that? If no one wants to do that, I have no problems helping out with that :).

Really hoping the Ratchet Collection comes to US for Vita this week; its really stupid SCEA ignoring a major IP landing on Vita like that X(.

Need a little help here - are there any special tips for playing DJMAX Technika Tune ?

Should I hold Vita horizontally or vertically ?

I find the best way to hold it is horizontally. It'll seem difficult at first, but eventually you'll be hold it like you would with a normal game and use your thumbs. Moving a hand may be required for more complicated parts.

If you're starting on Star Mixing, I found it easy to hold the Vita with one hand and then use the index finger on my free hand to play the notes. This doesn't really work as songs get more complex, unfortunately.

LOL. Did you just start calling it that?

I use the Kid Icarus Uprising's support console. I am not kidding, it is really comfortable if you can play the game on a table.

Picked up Demon Gaze today!

Decided to play as a Prinny, we need a good NIS Prinny RPG centered exclusively around Prinnies, kinda like the action games but way more heavy with the numbers.

Has anyone gotten their Sony Rewards points from the Sony E3 PS4 app? They said you were supposed to get an email by the 4th. At least I think it was the 4th. I've gotten squat.

Didn't get mine, I called and was told told to overwhelning success it will take longer to send them out.

I picked it up the other day. Really digging it. You can find some good info in the doc below.

Just played BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend for the first time and I just couldn't beat the boss in arcade mode... I guess I just suck too much at fighting games :( It seems like a great game though but I don't think that I have the dedication to really get into it.

I think I may be done with P4G for the forseeable future. The game is too easy unless it's on hard, but now I'm stuck on the last day I have to save Rise and I think I'm gonna have to grind for another 3 hours before I can realistically beat these bosses because I'm pretty low level, and although I like the combat and fusing well enough in this, the dungeons have finally become really tiring and boring for me and being unable to do anything but constantly dump all my cash for grind healing is kinda ass.

Yeah, pretty sure the Monster Hunter Frontier G beta won't let me play because I'm in North America.

Don't import it.

Spend rainy days training after you get Rise rescued, just go in and clear the older dungeons fully once and you should be fine for the next dungeon. only takes maybe an hour to clear out older dungeons. Also do you use the skip function? it helps grinding alot.

If you ever go back to play, remember, lovers (with an exception for Lisa) always win

Still not sure what's up with those Amazon/4Gamer reviews though.
Nearly every single review is mainly complaining about the singleplayer difficulty. A lot of small things in the reddit post aren't touched on.

From the OT impressions though if you are familiar with hunting games and don't always rely on teammates/multiplayer to complete missions then the difficulty is really nothing you can't overcome, several of them have finished the game already.

Hm..
And here I was thinking that maybe I could save a little money.
Well it's not like there's a firm US release date so I'll just wait and see how things shake out.

Eh, it seems like merely a difference of opinion ro me. Parakeet may be angry, but that post only reflected his opinion on the game; the other guy's post didn't strike me as an effort to deliberately troll the game.
Of course, but I'm more inclined to trust Hasemo and Parakeetman rather than a random Reddit user since I know their opinions usually align with mine. :)

Most of those complaints will be taken care of with future patches that'll probably come with the game at launch in the West, I'm not sure why people are canceling pre-orders over it, specially being a $30 game.

I guess that Reddit post about Freedom Wars might have just been false alarm. Don't cancel your pre-orders, guys.

Still not sure what's up with those Amazon/4Gamer reviews though.

Parakeetman is very defensive about games he likes, he jumped on me for like half a page for, I dunno being my usual skeptical self and/or making some underinformed (and probably stupid, knowing me) assumptions about how Natural Doctrine I think it was played or something. That said, he's a gem and a font of informed impressions, I just see most of these differing opinions right now describing fairly similar experiences but from different angles, and I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna have to try it myself.
