Yeah, that's pretty much the perfect scene to show the difference between Prime and Other M. Ridley comes back in Other M and she has a nervous breakdown, Ridley comes back in Prime and Samus is just sick of his shit and chases after him. She even swings her arm canon in defiance!

God if you really watch those two scenes back to back it makes me want to puke with sadness.

"R-.......Ridley?!..."

Give me a break.

Welcome!

She does emote in that scene, but she shows that she's fucking pissed that Ridleys back. She doesn't cry like she does in Other M. All emotion doesn't have to be terrible!

Oh I know I agree with you, I am saying his description of that character is rather inaccurate considering her entire point of being is her being phased by shit.

My parents dead! And Space sucks balls, and should I kill this metriod, and the suit fusion ... aww here it goes! - coolio theme -

I'm of the opinion that Ridley will be in the game but will have the exact same moves as Captain Falcon :P

As for K.Rool... I guess people like all kinds of different things but everytime I see the goofball I just feel the result of giving a 5 year old 2 minutes with a block of plasticine would still yield better character designs than Rare's fat croc :/

I keep kinda hoping the leak mistook Ike or Marth for Chrom too. I mean, it'd be an easy mistake to make :P

I believe video games series can be much more than one thing, I think limiting it is.. silly.

That's just me though.

.. she was making mistakes in super metriod, she had flaws and feeling in metriod prime. Your head canon was ruined a long ass time ago. And then fusion and shit. And metriod prime 2 and 3. And then other m happened.

Also I never said she would be crying, about anything.
You're suggesting that a game series about isolated exploration should be like Mass Effect.

Plz no.

So... does anyone else think Phosphora is a really bizarre Assist Trophy choice? (Not necessarily bad, just questionable.) I'm playing through Uprising for the third time, and she's a pretty minor character -- I don't see what makes her any more deserving than the other bosses. I'd much rather have Medusa, Hades, or an Eggplant Wizard as an AT. Magnus is a good pick, though.

I think she looks nice.

Hopefully plenty of you tuned into KoC4 today. Just in case you missed it here's Bizzaro Flame's awesome Ganondorf Combo and kill.

Damn and holy shit at that waveland grab.

I'm so sorry

lol

But showing bits of emotion isn't being phased by shit. Being phased by shit is literally not knowing what to do in a situation or making a bad decision in a situation, like that pukefest Other M liked to make her do.

And usually she's just just being payed to do a job actually. Pretty sure that's how it was in all the 2D Metroids at least. Don't remember what the deal was with Prime, but I think it was the same.

This is what spin offs are for. And not mass effect, I want and entirely other nintendo franchise to do that.

Also there are more ways to convey information about a universe than mass effect. Dark Souls, Metal gear, fricking pokemon. Its not cut and dry

But it sounded like Mass Effect tho.

I think it's alright if a series explores new ideas, but there should still be a couple of core ideas and themes that the series should stay attached to, lest it lose it's identity. Metroid is, usually, about isolation, being alone and exploring a hostile environment, and I think that moving away from that would mean that it isn't Metroid anymore.

Ooh, tell us how it is! Apparently the SSB4 segment is a medley of some sort? I always hated how we haven't gotten recordings from the past few years...I want to hear the Xenoblade/Kirby/Kid Icarus: Uprising stuff dammit!

At least we can always treasure this Mother Medley.

Will do! It sounds like the first part of the concert is going to be exclusively dedicated to Smash music, and I trust Sakai-san and Sakurai-san will pick only the best tunes. I wonder if they'll be reusing some of the arrangements from the Smash orchestra concert they did for Melee.

And that Mother medley makes me want Lucas to return even more--although I wish I could actually listen to the Love Theme without crying for once.

That's interesting, because Phosphora was my favorite character aside from Viridi. If including Phosphora means we get the best piece of music from KI:U in Smash 4/5, then I'm totally okay with that. ;)

Why can't there be a f2p Legend of Zelda FPS with online multiplayer?

At the point your Metroid game is about character interaction and psychological themes and not running around in a Power Suit... Why even call it a Metroid game?

I wasn't directly going against what you said with the whole crying thing and other reasons. And not really. I can't remember many if any mistakes that she made in those games that were not completely out of her control. And I've played Super Metroid very recently.

And part of what I mean by perfect is that nothing phases her whatsoever in her line of work unless she's about to die which, ya know, makes sense. Like that fucking first Ridley scene in Prime 1. Such a fucking boss. She just looks up at him like, "Wow seriously. Ok whatever I'm gonna grapple now."

Alright I think I've gotta go play Prime now.

On a similar note, the cutscene that plays when you engage Dark Samus right outside of the Sky Temple on Dark Aether in Echoes is also another favorite for how much intensity it conveyed with barely anything. Samus is essentially told she has 8 minutes to get the fuck out of an entire dimension or risk having it all collapse on herself and as she makes a mad light speed dash out of the area, Dark Samus comes out of nowhere packing the largest amount of firepower possible for the instant. With just a single glance, you actually saw Samus' thought process go from "get the fuck out of this place" to "...I can't/won't let this thing leave here ever" before beginning the firefight with her.

I always thought that Samus was pretty much Nintendo's Batman. She may have turmoil on the inside or whatever, but on the outside she's the perfect badass.

As for the top question, because fps's don't have anything to do with the game in question.

The metriod game I want isn't about character interaction, its about world building. And it would just be you running around with out a power suit, beating peeps up and finding suff out about the whatever world you happen to be on.

as far as your final question goes.
Spin offs, don't really have to do shit with anything.
Again have you played revenge?

Fuck sneaking around, just murder everything, even when they mae you sneak around, just keep murdering all the things. Just keep the dumb mgs dialouge and murder everything. Apparently a spin off could have the loosest thread connected to the original product, as long as its good people will buy it.
But it sounded like Mass Effect tho.

Lore in space ain't just mass effect breh.

Ideological ideas sure, but game play wise. I don't think so.
Have you seen revengence?

Batman is far from perfect, infact he is quite shitty at his job.

I agree about Batman. It would be best to simply take out all these mass murdering psychopaths who escape every month and kill more people, instead of locking them up in Easy-to-Escape Arkham.

Not at all just wanted to shake my finger.

I just hope we see this Samus again. I'm starting to get worried.

Hey, could anyone explain the GameCube controller situation? Does the adapter effectively turn GC controllers into Wii U Pro Controllers, or is it only good for Smash and other games specifically programmed for it? Just wondering if this was all explained at some point. Lastly, are the PDP controllers really only Wii Classic Controllers? That would mean there's only a small amount of Wii U games that would use it, for example I guess Zelda WW wouldn't work with it, even though it likes Wii U Pro controllers?

Probably. Didn't Sakurai confuse Dark Samus and Dark Suit Samus in Brawl anyway? Or did I imagine that?
No, he didn't. There's a Dark Samus trophy and a Dark Suit Samus trophy, both separate. There is a misprint in the Dark Suit trophy that says it was found in Torvus instead of Agon, but that's pretty minor.

One of the co-op event matches has you fight against a "Dark Samus" alongside Dark Link, but they're both just black silhouettes.

Maybe I'm thinking of something from the Dojo? I could have sworn he called that costume Dark Samus at some point.

I don't think we know this much yet, but don't hold your breath.

Honestly, I'm happy with any character that makes it to Smash 4. At this point, the only character that would legit surprise me is if somebody like Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny joins Smash.

Yup, my arms are just open for anyone at this point, I just want the game.

It's not like characters like Baby Mario or Metal Mario will get in anyway!
