Woo.. predicted 4 out of 4 semi finalists correctly.

But what a boring game last night, i almost fell asleep midway. Argentina - NL should be more fun to watch.
Costa Rica fans are cool though.. And holy shit at Krul, that dude knows how to play his mind tricks :D

I totally forgot how huge he is. The dude is one hell of a tree. He was very intimidating too. I guess the Costa Rican players do not watch his games. He's always pulling that crap :p

meh

of all the animals we have here they picked a donkey? ... I mean even the flag has an eagle lol

Funny how all the best players are called divers

Robben, Neymar, Suarez

Maybe they are just being fouled a lot because they are so damn good you know

Because you're only butthurt of such players who fuck your team in the last minute with a genius move and must compensate it with childish nonsense.

Let's start by how they play like shit.

Even Greece, GREECE of all teams managed to score against Costa Rica, but the Dutch were too busy diving to be bothered with that.

Of course they only got this far by diving.

Throw in their thug in chief who fortunately has been missing, and it's a recipe for disaster
Oh it's you again.
You're completely right though, you should work for a sports channel because your explanation for the fact that the Dutch are in the semis's is completely spot on!
Did anybody see the winning dive from Robben against Costa Rica yesterday? It was tremendous, just like the dive from De Jong against Spain which won the game against them. I'm glad they dove 5 times that night . And let's not talk about all the dives they made against the other teams like Chile and Australia , they will dive themselves to the finals!

Cry more :(

man watching that game yesterday was tough as a dutch fan. I really thought the costa rica 'win this on pens' strategy was going to be legit.

that specialist goalie switch. Master tactitian. SO GREAT.

Is it just me or have the referees been terrible? Are they always this bad? Haven't been following the discussions on this.

Save for a couple of matches they have been alright. Mistakes happens in every match and that won't change until fifa allows a fourth ref with a video stream, it's hard for the refs to keep up with this kind of top athletes for 90 (or 120) minutes, while always having a perfect sight on what is happening.

So last night I had a very vivid dream in which Januzaj whipped in a crazy cross for a Belgium goal.

Had dreams with a similar level of vividness before E3 2013 for FFXV that turned out true.

Belgium dun fucked. Manager shouldn't have been so predictable and taken the chance with him.

Huh? He was walking back and forth (well left and right) every time.

He's doing mind games, the keeper has to wait to the right side (from the striker's perspective) of the goal for his turn. When the striker walks towards the penalty spot with the ball Krul is to the left or right of the goal and it seems this guides them towards shooting in the other, empty corner.

The second penalty had the best perspective of it.

In the third penalty Krul did not walk past the goal but stayed on the right side.

Final penalty and he's back to the far left of the goal.

What I mean is that for each of these you could take a shot 2 seconds later and he would be on the other side of the goal. I remember him just walking around constantly, not just staying on one side specifically.

Check the replay, he stays on one side until the ball goes on the spot.

I think we are giving Krul a lot more credit than he deserves. He is not THAT smart.

they were running plays with the coach before he had to go on. He was playing mind games. look at the replays and see him yelling at all the shooters as well. he dominated them, picked the direction each time and saved 50%.
Combine it with the super sub for penalties and there you have it. Van gaal knows when to switch out players, he just keeps getting it right.

Just woke up.

What an unbelievable night that was.

Costa Rica had so much luck the first 120 minutes but fortunately justice was served with the PK's.

Onwards to Wednesday. I just hope that match will not end up with PK's as well, because working the day after with less then 5 hours of sleep will kill me.

Does anyone have a gif of Lens having to go through 20+ pages of tactical paperwork before he got to replace Depay? It was shown on Canvas (or Een?), pretty fucking funny.

I still don't really get the Lens sub, he's too slow.
I think he regretted starting Depay. Depay is good, but he's the most effective when the opposition is worn down and comes in as a supersub. Kinda like Elia Eljero in the last WC. I think LvG was hoping that Lens could fulfill the role of energetic sub.

I don't think starting Depay was a bad idea though.

Yeah think so too. Or Depay just had an off day, like van Persie. At least I hope van Persie had an off day, and isn't choking again.

Still, if someone told me six months ago that Oranje would reach the semi's during the World Cup I would have laughed in your face. My god.

How can a football team be anti-football? I don't understand.

They played like they wanted penalties from the first minute, they had their first shot on target in the second last minute of the extra time!!

They where fun the first few matches, but this game CR was terrible.

Brazil is playing for a home crowd, even without Neymar they're going to be incredibly tough to beat for the Germans. And the Argentina v Holland match is anyone's guess really.

John Dunbar

correct about everything
hopefully fifa has the good sense to for once use their corrupt ways for something great and rig a brazil victory. don't see them winning otherwise.
