I think Sonys 1st party department is the strongest out of the big three.
Sony had the best exclusives last gen, thats the reason why they catched up to Xbox360 even though the had a higher pricepoint throughout the generation.
Microsoft needs to prove a lot now. Gears and Halo were two of their biggest exclusives last gen. Epic Games left and Bungie left. 343 did a good job with Halo4, but it didn't live up the Bungie standard. I don't know much about Black Tusk and whether they are capable of making a GearsOfWar games are great as Gears1-3.
I don't think XboxOne will be able to catch to Ps4 in US and UK. Mainly because of the power differences. Thats a problem MS can't fix.
I think the gap will even grow wider. I don't know if 3rd party developers will push the Ps4, but 1st party definitely will and 1st party games will show how big the gap is. Uncharted 4 will only be the beginning.
I think Microsoft is banking to much on Halo.
The Order 1886 will have brilliant gameplay.
God Of War will never return to its former glory, I gotta agree on that one.
PSN catched up to XBL and could become even better(PsNow).
VR will be a big deal. It will thrive on indie games and bring back the mood of the golden age of gaming.
I don't think Nintendo will ever make a succesful tradtional home console ever again. The market is saturated with Sonys and MSs consoles, Nintendo needs to find something else.

-Story and characters in TLOU are what made the game great for me. The gameplay was decent but nothing special and the shooting was frustrating.
-I agree with your Ryse opinion but would replace GREAT with SOLID or GOOD. Fun for 6-8 hours on hard.
-Heavy Rain is one of my all time favorite games. The story was amazing and I replayed the game several times just to see the different outcomes. Hoping Quantic Dreams goes with something more like Heavy Rain and less like Beyond with their next game. I need all my choices to affect and change the story.

They're hired or otherwise paid to make a game. We don't know all the details of that deal but without showing up anywhere else first I have to assume it's no different from most other games: publisher wants it or is willing to take it on and bankroll it, and the developer signs off on that deal. Just happens this publisher only does their own platforms.
I guess it's as much an opinion as "the world is ending soon!" anyway.
And there seems to be a lot of platform polarization that cropped up suddenly. Man, the only reasons I get/got worked up over Microsoft were the dumbfuck DRM and some questionable decisions anyway, so long as they all put out good products or don't due stuff TOO bad or at least show potential signs of improvement I'm generally content with them each. Just my preferred games may not be there so I grow ambivalent.

I'm not hoping at all, I have ALL the Playstion Consoles and all the Xbox Consoles. I use them both and see the Pro's & Con's in both. I believe that healthy compitetion is best for the industry. Competition is what has lead to Free Games on PSN & Xbox Gold as well as Xbox dropping their Draconian DRM policy's.
Sadly, I'm just being realistic. Sony, as strong as the look today, are in deep dark times as a company as a whole.

DMC4 was the best selling and seems to have been better regarded after its release became more distanced (and we saw DmC.) it's just the director wanted to do something else, and given how fantastic Dragon's Dogma was I'm glad for it.
You're making predictions at best, coming off as a crazed fan at worst. You brought up poker, but that game can be unpredictable and everyone involved is still human and prone to dumb mistakes. Seriously, I can't believe Microsoft thought $500 was OK after that and $600 were price points that played a large role in Sony getting curb stomped initially and relative to their prior position.

Why would Ubisoft or EA sign exclusivity agreements and cut out over half of their market? And you mean game streaming? MS has been working on it, yet has never shown anything to consumers, so I'm not sure why you think it's launching or anything.

If Microsoft could buy their way to 1st place with exclusives/DLC/whatever they'd have done so during the 360's reign or even the original Xbox.
They didn't. They even tried to spend a ton on getting exclusives for 360 and they still ended up in second place, and when all is said and done, will probably be overtaken in sales by PS3 as well.
The truth is Playstation retained it's position of being the more powerful console like last gen, but has now also swapped places with Xbox this gen for having the better looking/running 3rd party titles on an easier to develop platform.
Maybe Microsoft's Xbone can overtake Sony PS4 (doubtful) but it will mainly be thanks to any incompetency on Sony's part rather than the usage of Microsoft's immense war chest.

I can't get into it man. There's nothing offensively bad in the game like 2-3 or 5-2 but most of the time I'm just bored out of my mind.
I liked TTYD a lot, but I liked the first one more. And SPM is my favorite (haven't played SS yet). I do get why people loved it, because it does a lot of things right and the humor is incredible, and I agree. It's just that I think the other titles in the franchise are even better.

Absolutely agree. At least when it come to 2D marios. LBP's physics and puzzles trully revolutionized 2D platformers. Mario games still have the art style and the fun gameplay but apart from the mundane motion control additions the games are just too conservative.

Microsoft, back in the day, also had Gates and Ballmer, strong believers in the brand, in charge. They wanted the "Windows box in every living room" but the times of Gates and Ballmer are gone and, unlike Sony who are more reliant on PlayStation and will/need to throw weight behind it, XBox doesn't mean as much to Microsoft as you'd think, for the simple reason the "Windows box in every living room" isn't applicable any more, the hybrid console was a late reaction to a changing ecosystem. The end of the XBox doesn't cripple Microsoft, shareholders have called for them to drop it because their main product is still Windows, Office and licences. They are also not going to throw money at it to make it stick. It has to be self-reliant because Microsoft are not going to feed it from their profitable divisions.

here are my personal top3 controversial oppinions 
1st:
Halo only had one great title which was the first one, by far the most competitive multiplayer in terms of pace, skill and map-design
bungie really didnt know what they have done great there seeing how Halo 2 played online-wise, clunky, slow and glitch-abused
basically a 180° on how Halo CE played, Halo 3 was even worse
the story of Halo CE also was a milestone, you cannot say the same for any other Halo title
also, someone honestly need to tell me for why Halo 2-4 have such slow analogstick-turnspeeds, only Gears does have a speed being equally slow
it makes 0 sense to cap players with such slow speeds :/
2nd:
every follow-up title to Final Fantasy 9 doesnt justify to carry the name Final Fantasy for me
the stories became dull, the monster-design went downhill and the minigames became unappealing which for me also applies to the crazy battle systems they implemented
only the music could maintain its quality in at least Final Fantasy 10
3rd:
havent had any major issue with BF4 on the PS4 for month, no rubberbanding, crashing, or anything
people that claim the game is still broken just like to maintain sitting on the hate-train, or should blame their own network issues

Yes and no. Kratos is a terrible character designed with the average 16 yo male gamer in mind but Greek mythology goes along way. I wouldn't mind a Norse mythology reboot either as long as they they don't employ another muscle clown.
First, there is NO way the XB1 will catch up with the PS4. If one system only has 3 non 1080p games while the other console can only do a few 1080p games, you can clearly tell the power gap is big. This is a PS2 vs Xbox deal where XB1 is getting gimped graphics for the console. However, unlike the PS2, the XB1 isn't most 3rd party developers' priority, mostly going to the PS4. Inferior hardware cannot catch up.
Second, this is just my opinion, but Microsoft isn't anywhere near Sony quality-wise with the exclusives. Although Nintendo still takes the first party cake for me.
Kratos is David Jaffe's pent up aggression, anger, and frustration personified in video game form.
I have no idea why they continued the series with Kratos as the lead character after Jaffe left. Kratos is Jaffe.

I think Sekhmet Female goddess of war and the Egyptian Pantheon would make for a very nice change of scenery especially with the power of the new console. Could make for some awe inspiring scenes .....
Now this is a unique controversial opinion! Although I think to verifiably "revolutionized" we need to see more imitation or recognizable influence, which we haven't. If anything Minecraft took the very basic premise (user creation) and completely ran with it while LBP only had mild success and as a platformer I find completely dull. Not that I've easily gotten into NSMB lately either, first aside. Nintendo's missing the fact each of the earlier games had a very distinct feel to them, and the NSMB line feels more like a chain of level packs and graphic updates... And only really updated on the technical side.
Too little too late really. Needed to be the same price or cheaper out the gate and not notably worse performing with many of the same games, but more expensive and worse running, and with terrible DRM initially offered, they really messed things up and have to work hard to recover. They're certainly trying their best at least, but we'll see how that pans out.

Resistance 3 is garbage, possibly the worst game in the series.
It does not have Half-Life 2 vibes - why anyone would compare a masterpiece like Half-Life 2 to this dreadful game is beyond me.
Its story is pure nonsense centered around a character you could give two shits less about with the most arbitrary problem possible.
Said character seemingly abandoned fighting the Chimera when every idiot on the planet knew the aliens were setting out to alter the planet and kill everyone - but hey he had a kid and got tired of fighting - derp.
Undoes all the tension of the Sentinels dual nature and slow decent into infection that Resistance 2 had (which was one of its high points) - with a wave of a magic wand that makes no sense

The third game was nothing more than a shameless attempt to shoehorn in a bad ending.

The military and civilian infrastructure was decimated by the end of Resistance 2. There were barely a handful of units left, hence the suicide attack by Hale and Capelli - not that they thought it was going to work, they just had no time left. - but no, somehow there was enough time and resources after the final battle (which in no way defeated the Chimera, just Daedalus) to distribute a vaccine made from the body of a dead man to everyone in the world and stop the virus...

Why do you think Halo will and God of War won't? I think both will "Bioshock Infinite" themselves, get really great reviews, sell a pretty good amount, then there will be a big backlash as to how they aren't as good as the older ones, etc. I feel they both are doomed.
For one, it doesn't help that I thoroughly enjoy Halo and it's story.
I just think 343i understands that Halo 4 was not the game we wanted, and in a way nor was Reach.
I feel it when they talk about the MCC. I feel like the beta will prove how I feel in December. We will see though.
Having played all the God of Wars. 1-3 were superb. Ascension not to much. If they continue with Kratos I don't see a triumphant return. If they do something different.. Well the possibilities are endless I guess.

I actually haven't played Halo 4, the backlash against it has made me stay away, but I hope 343i can right the ship and keep everyone happy, new and old fans. I played Reach, and did not like the road they were going down though, with armor abilities and loadouts, and 343i doubled down on those for 4. I'd say I'm cautiously hopeful.
Again, didn't play Ascension due to almost everyone saying not to. Played 1,2,3 and the two PSP games, and I'm not sure how I'd feel about a GoW that wasn't Greek, I love me some greek mythology. Then again you can't really go anywhere with the story, Kratos killed damn near everyone. Prequel wouldn't make sense either, so either Kratos is sticking around or they are just using God of War for the name, and switching everything else out, kind of like Call of Duty. For this series, I'm way more cautious than hopeful sadly.

That's why I think H5 will be a reforming of Halo. Who knows, I could be wrong! I believe they played it safe with Halo 4 and continued with some of Reach's formula.
And I would love God of War in Greek mythology still, but how would it work, you know? Cautiously optimistic about both franchises.
