So am I the only one here who doesn't play PM?

Not attacking anyone's preferences in Smash or anything, just curious.
Well I can think of a few more besides you off the top of my head. A lot of people do though and it dominates the discussion so I can't blame you for asking lol

I don't play online.

Can't stand the lag.

If anything, I found Brawl had more issues with connection errors than lag and the like (which rarely happened post-launch period)

Excluding the general shittiness of With Anyone, Brawl Wi-Fi was perfectly serviceable to me.

Here's the guide for those who want to get Brawl/PM working online: http://www.smashboards.com/threads/...post-wfc-shutdown-read-this-right-now.355374/

I'm online right now, but everyone is already in a room, so I'll just wait.

Most people don't play PM since it is a mod and most people in this thread likely have not played PM either.

So the BIG question with this is: How decent is the online? I'm guessing these are different servers so hopefully the connection holds up. If it's better then I'll join in.

I've played with two different people here and both times it has worked really well. A little lag for the first few seconds, then not much at all.

Project M has a big following, with regular tournaments from top players around the world. May not have caught on with everyone here, but I personally will never play Vanilla Brawl again if I can manage it.

Same... ever since Project M, I've never touched original Brawl or ever had a desire to. Project M is just a far superior version, imo. =/

I feel bad.

Gah. I wish that the GCN controller adapter was already out; that's the only reason I haven't taken all my saves/VC games onto my Wii U yet, and I'm waiting to do that before downloading Project M. The wait's killing me, however, because it looks sooooooo good.

Incidentally, I have ideas as to how Wario was changed, but out of curiosity, how good is the Wario Land-focused Wario? Still good to use?

I wouldn't. Brawl's not bad, and it was definitely fun while it lasted, but it had its share of problems. A free mod that fixes most of those problems and adds new stages and characters, plus it still has a thriving online community as opposed to a dead one that wasn't really active or fun while it was up and running, anyway? There's no reason to feel bad for wanting to play the better game.

Besides, as much as I still play Brawl around twice a week with friends, the second the "New Smash Bros.!" hype faded, it quickly became clear to me that, unlike Melee, I would never fight to go back to Brawl as soon a new Smash came out. Granted, I didn't expect a handheld Smash, but the second SSB4Wii U comes out, I'm only playing Brawl if that's the only one a friend has.

I got a MayFlash adapter that works great for Gamecube controllers. Haven't tried it an online match yet.

Oh, I adore P:M's more Wario Land-centric Wario. His down smash feels a lot better, as he's not doing that ridiculous spinning animation for longer than necessary and doesn't leave himself open after performing it. One thing I dislike about P:M's Wario, however, is him being given a new down+air (his butt stomp move) that shoots him downwards. I despise those types of moves. It ruined Sheik for me. >.>

Yeah, my Wii broke, so I have to play it on my Wii U. I have to use a classic controller, but at least I have an excuse every time I lose.:)

I don't think it's really any better. It's okay if you're just playing 1vs1, but I think with 3 or 4 players it starts to feel somewhat sluggish. I've only played with a couple of people so far though.

I have to end there, but great games everyone! It got a little laggy there at the end with DaBoss, but it was still a lot of fun. You guys reminded me I have a lot to improve on.

Hmmm...ok, I'll give it a shot for SmashGAF and Project M. I just didn't have a good time with Brawl's online that it completely turned me off to anything relating to it.

I'll see if I can set up my Wii to get back online. I probably won't get on until later next week, but whoever is making that friend code list I'll add mine up there.

OricWindstar and TWILT,

Good Games! It was awesome sessions!

Orc,

Keep it up with Mario. I think you could have potential with your Mario! Keep it up with your practices!

TWILT,

You really have very mean Link but someday I will learn how to subdue your Link somehow. :P Also you have awesome Ike too. :)

Good games Heath. Fun matches. I really don't like fighting Doctor Mario lol

Ugh, kept SDing like an idiot. x_x Something I gotta improve on/stop doing...

Actually, I wanted to get Project M on the original Wii; I don't want to mess around with stuff on my Wii until I'm done with everything else on it. I still have my GameCube, so as soon as the Wii U gets a GCN controller port, I can transfer my VC games/saves for Wii games that're better with the GCN controller over and play them on good controllers, as opposed to the launch-model Classic Controller.

Same here. I did few SDS there and there. I really enjoy how we always getting very close matches, Especially with Samus vs Ike.

They still haven't confirmed if vWii will even support the GCN adapter.

Yeah, I felt like I was starting to get the hang of the physics towards the end there (still so used to Brawl), so I think I'm going to stick with Mario so I have at least one strong character under my belt. It's been so long since I've been able to play with competent Smashers (almost 3 years!), so being able to get back into the game is awesome. Humiliating, but awesome!

I don't know if I would consider losing as humiliation since we always learns a lot from losing so we can strive to improve ourselves.

If I lost because of lags or hiccups, then that's frustration right there. :P

Oh I know, I was being a little over dramatic. I love playing with guys a little better than me, as I always come out a better player.

Alright I'm done for the night. Good games, Orc and DaBoss! I've had a blast playing with GAF today. Got good practice with a variety of characters.

DaBoss your Sheik/Zelda bodies me free. Too good.

I'm so bad a 3-player FFA. I can handle myself with 4-player FFA and 1v1, but I can never do well in 3-player FFAs. It probably is just me positioning terribly lol.

I wish I got to use more characters though. I played pretty badly every time I switched to a different character but then got better as I played a few matches with them.

I switched to Zelda accidentally that match where I first used her, and thought eh, may as well use her lol.
I've not played PM yet, I'm a bit paranoid it'll mess up my ridiculous amount of time I've had playing Brawl.
It won't modify anything on the save file. Or I'm misinterpreting your post.

i played it once for an hour and then other responsibilities hit (i have mad respect for the game tho for what little ive played lots of work was put into it )

and as for brawl lag actually ive never really experienced that much lag on brawl tbh so i never really got the complaints or maybe the whole playing timed based games on a dial up modem caused my brain to become completely unaware of that short of thing :T

Didn't help that really bad lag would randomly show up, despite it running smoothly most of the time. Still, 3 player is always sort of awkward for me. 4 works, because people usually break off into pairs, but with 3 there's 2 people fighting and then 1 guy who comes in to land a free smash attack.

Also, I'll go ahead and make a google doc for friend codes. I'll have it up in a few hours.

That's why people shouldn't use WiFI for P:M online because it's just terrible for everyone. If people have no choice then that would be understandable.

We've already shown you that Sakurai had absolute control over everything in the game, not Namco. And you can speculate on why Ridley is never playable all you want, but you don't know for sure. It's entirely possible that Sakurai didn't include him because he thought he was best as a huge boss character, not a smaller playable one. It seems hypocritical to condemn the speculation from others when you're doing the exact same thing.

Basically, you're just making stuff up to suit your arguments. A lot of the time, it's actually going against what we know. It's really hard to take a post like this seriously.

Where did you show me Sakurai had absolute control? I missed that bit. I know he had a quote in Brawl where he said "I decide what goes in the game, no one else."

Also, "Sakurai prefers Ridley to be a big boss" =/= "Ridley is too big to possibly make into a character, ever ever ever, duh." Please learn to discern. My stance is that Ridley could be left out for any one of a thousand reasons, and unless Sakurai specifically brings it up in an interview, we'll never know. There's no hypocrisy in smiting the stupid stance that "If Ridley is left out, it's 100% because he was OMGTOOBIG."

I'm going to get shit now for "being the 'first' to bring up Ridley" again, aren't I?

I'm just going to say that if your goal was to endear yourself to the Smash community on Neogaf and get support for your petition for King K. Tool, you are showing an poor effort at it.

Edit: Sigh, just realized that auto correct changed Rool to Tool.

Random thought: Samus in Smash always had an opaque visor. In the Metroid games the visor varies between opaque and clear.

In Smash, would you prefer a clearer one that shows some of her face, or would you like them to stick with the opaque look?
