Nintendo Downloads - July 2014

You can use your credit card. If you want to it can store the card info for you and then it forces you to add a pin code for your card as a security measure. Just remember that there is an option to pay the exact amount needed for whatever software you're buying, it shows up if you don't have enough store credit. So to avoid buying something by mistake never add credit to the store before hand. Because that can't be hidden behind a pin code.
(Hope I made sense there.)
I don't know how it works on Xbox these days since they switched from points to currency, but the first time I bought something on the eShop and wasn't hassled about saving my credit card was such a nice surprise compared to the XBLM. Nintendo does some questionable things, but at least they've gotten this right; I prefer to have my cards linked to as few retailers as possible.

Bombing Bastards what a nice game ..!!!

Really love music and bomb sound , also game difficult and price nice :)

Please gaffers give it a chance .

Hey gaf, I'm looking for some 3ds recommendations. Is there anything similar to Hotel Dusk or Last Window on the 3ds? I want to play something with a strong story and a good mood. I can't think of thing like that off the top of my head for the 3ds.

Thanks, I'll take a look but is this the only one? Is there nothing like Ghost Trick? Maybe I'll dive back into Ace Attorney.

I wish I could get back into Professor Layton but I feel like the series lost a lot of steam after end of the first trilogy despite making a very nice transition to the 3ds.

Yeah I know, lol. I'm always like:

"huh isn't this out already..."
"oh yeah, in Europe and Japan..."
"wait it's STILL not out in NA???"

This is the best way to describe the VC, especially after the arduous wait for SMB3. That took a whole year... Although Nintendo as a whole needs to step it up with the VC, NoA especially needs to kick it into maximum overdrive.

I see that the Club Nintendo digital rewards are available until July 6th. Does that mean that a new selection will be available on the 7th? Or is there usually a wait before new ones are available?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

They will be available tomorrow.

I would love Nintendo to fully expand VC.
Make the games one purchase for wiiu and 3ds. Also add in 3D effect for 3DS, super mario world and mario bros 3 would look great with 3D effects.
They have the largest treasure trove of all platforms yet they constantly show no promise.
Until they sort out VC then I will never have any faith in them moving forward.
Still love my wiiu and 3DS XL though!

Holy FUCK, out of nowhere!

I know, right. I've been meaning to update my site's section on that (my older sections are horrific) but figured I had plenty of time due to rights issues and that they'd give advanced warning.

Have a busy few days ahead of me, now.

A...Pokémon game for the VC?

You know the implications of this, right?

Quite the contrast compared to last week! But once again, nothing for me. Surprised to see Pokémon TCG, though. Was definitely not expecting that one.

Will try out the Jett Rocket demo, and if it's any good I'll take advantage of the discount on the full game.

Wondering whether to grab both NES Remix games while there's an offer on.

Well, Puzzle League and Snap both came out on Wii VC. I still wouldn't expect mainline games, but hopefully this will open the floodgates for the spinoffs.

I have been waiting for the spin-offs for so long. Need to finish the Puzzle Challenge section too, as that could be soon.

Woah at Pokémon Trading Card Game! The lack of VC multiplayer will sting for that but it's still a cool addition, just nice to see some sort of Pokémon game go on there at all. Loved it back in the day, the campaign was very satisfying to play through.

Also, Pop 'n Twinbee is a fantastic SHMUP, easily one of the best on the SNES! Provided that it's the 60Hz version, don't pass it up :D

I'm fucking furious we ain't been told shit about shovel knight.

Furious? This is on the developer's side:

So where are we at with these regions? There haven’t been any new developments since our previous updates. Our rating process is mostly all the way through (which is a big step, to be sure!) but localization is in progress and it must be done before we can release. The game is already capable of supporting and swapping languages, but Shovel Knight’s text itself is currently being translated to more languages.

Twinbee! :)
Will definitely get that.

Edit: Do we know which version it is? Is there much text or could it be the Japanese version?

Was about to ask if it's good. Also it seems like this is the first time it's released on the European VC? With all the negativity surrounding the Wii U's VC there have been quite a few firsts on it so far (at least in Europe).

NES: Dr. Mario, Golf, Pac-Land, Renegade, Super Dodge Ball

SNES: Earthbound, Pop'n TwinBee, Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire, Uncharted Waters: New Horizons

Oh... it was never released in the US. Please don't be the PAL version. :(
