Hyrule Warriors: character trailer #7, Midna

The game looks like it should be fun. I can't say I really care for what they showed of Midna's moveset, but I'd assume there's more to it than what we saw.

Her moveset's pretty reminiscent of Chen Gong with the minion summoning, just more over-the-top. I'm skeptical she's good at clearing out officers, but these videos always just focus on clearing out packs.

Is it confirmed that it's only like 9 characters?
So much for the "I can't believe how many there are".

Anyway, Midna looks great, her moveset brings me back. The problem is all the rest, it looks like an arena fighter without story. How many stages there will be? I counted like four maybe.

Not the biggest Zelda or Musou fan but this game has my hype.

Just looks like a solid action game all around.

No idea why people are excited about a Dynasty Warriors clone. I guess Nintendo fans will be Nintendo fans.

I don't think the final playable character count is confirmed.

I just realized that.
Whether it's One Piece, Gundam, or this, it's still the same Dynasty Warriors formula.

I don't know why, but I guess I'm still interested this time because they're using Zelda this time since the reveal.

WELL, this thread got shit on fast. Guess some people have waaaaay too much time on their hands.

Anyway, Midna looks ace. Wonder if we'll get her humanoid form!

Dude, the fact that someone doesn't like a game that you like shouldn't get you this upsegeneralising, condescending and stupid commen. People diss stuff I like all the time, but it doesn't make me mad. I'm a fan of The Big Bang Theory, and people on the internet constantly shit on that show, but it doesn't upset me. Getting this angry over criticism of a video game that you like is not healthy. You might want to look into getting some psychological counseling. The Dynasty Warriors games are poorly rated by critics and are frequently insulted by Gaffers, and yet this Nintendo game, which looks very similar to Dynasty Warriors, is constantly being praised. Doesn't this strike you as odd? You don't think anyone should be allowed to even comment of the fact that a game that's a clone of one of the most hated franchises ever is being praised to heaven? But if you can't handle someone making a mild diss of a video game that you like, you really shouldn't be on the internet. Seriously, get counseling.

If you don't like to hear responses to generalising, condescending and stupid comments, maybe you should stop making
generalising, condescending and stupid comments. :)

I'd be surprised if Midna didn't have her "human" form, since Cia is the one making her revert back in the first place. It'd be probably be unlocked at the end, though.

I like Midna. The moveset seems fun. So for me is Zelda, Lana, Midna, scarf girl.

98%? 1998. Ocarina of Time.

Makes me wonder... if Fi is in there, guess that means Girahim has to be too... Then again, they've always revealed a villain alongside the new playable character. So guess that's it then.

Midna looks amazing, but I already knew this from the Treehouse Live demo where they showcased her for 20+ minutes. She kicks so much ass.

Musou games actually have quite a few fans even on GAF (I wouldn't consider myself a fan personally, but I've played a few games in the series and enjoyed them quite a bit), and some of the points the series often gets criticized for like blatant asset reuse obviously don't apply here. And thanks to Team Ninja, my biggest complaint has been addressed as well: the animations are much better than in other Musou titles, they have a lot more weight.

Maybe this is the sort of change the franchise has needed to interest people; interesting characters that people already care about, cool looking movesets/combos, a different setting/aesthetic. Creating a more combat focused Zelda game with characters who are usually not playable already offers a unique novelty, but by putting it in an existing formula that arguably needs a facelift in the West, you get something that plays similar to another game but feels fresh, especially since a big complaint leveled against Musou games is that they feel same-y and cheaply made.

pretty much. more interested in seeing what her second weapon is, like what if its something that has her proper form :OOOOO

No idea why people who aren't interested in a certain topic at all keep posting in threads, complaining about others that are interested in the thread's topic and putting them down at the same time.

"Oh stupid Nintendo fans, hyping something no one could ever like if it hadn't the Zelda/Mario IP slapped on the box."

Wait! What?

Too bad they didn't show her transforming completely in the video... I mean, we did get some screenshots, so I have no idea why they didn't show that in the video.

I wonder if you have to level her up before you can use it? and maybe it has a cool down

I agree her human form might have to wait until the very end to unlock, but maybe with more characters maybe she is not an end type character, she could even start as evil since there are some hints of her messing with Lana

I hate to say it because she is just a new character but Lana block rolling is still the most impressive shit I've seen from this game, maybe because I already seen 20 minutes of Midna and bug girl was kinda cute but meh

Zelda is nice but Lana just looks fun like I'll spam those blocks all day

Midna will always be my favorite Zelda Universe character but part of her charm was the voice, story, and connection to TP Link

Actually, I didn't think about that. Do we have 100% confirmation special attacks can be upgraded? Then again, they haven't told us much about the progression system (only impacts stats, or do you learn new moves that way too?) or the weapon upgrade system.

Hopefully in this week's Famitsu, along with Fi :p

Yeah...

This is probably what will get me to me buy a Wii U....

You mean, all those other games did nothing for you? ;)

Nah seriously, I know what you mean. Hyrule Warriors was, by far, my favorite game at E3. I generally enjoy the Warriors series gameplay (over 110h for the 3DS game), so having one with Zelda elements is like paradise for me.

Quite curious to see if HW will have any impact on Wii U sales.

So liking the DW series and being kinda excited for the game makes you a blind Nintendo fanboy? Thanks for warning me.

Wow. 24 of these games on PS3 alone. I had no idea they had so many.

Yeah, they tend to release quite a couple of them. ;)

Gundam 3 is actually at a friend's house as I'm trying to convert him into a musou fan.
Sengoku Musou 4/Samurai Warriors 4 Vita is on it's way as we speak as it won't get a physical release over here.
And by the end of the year there will be a couple of more titles added to my collection.
2 for the PS4 and this Zelda Musou game which looks very good and really polished already. :)

Is that your own collection?

Yes it is. Started playing these games only last summer when I spent 3 months at home being severely sick.
Got really addicted to them and have been looking for all the variations ever since.
For the people who say all these games are exactly alike, ones you start getting into them you'd be surprised how the game systems tend to vary from one another.
It's a bit like comparing Streets of Rage to Final Fight to TMNT The Hyperstone Heist, etc.
Same genre, but quite different from one game to the next.

Now that I look back at that picture, there are still a couple games missing from it that I do have, like DW Gundam 2...

No one needs these types of posts.

That being said, I do think a good portion of the people hyped for this game haven't played a Dynasty Warriors game.

Since lack of innovation between sequels is the big complaint I've seen towards the series, I get the impression I would enjoy one entry & leave it at that. If they make a HW2 then I'll worry.

Yeah but in the next Hyrule Warriors they will include all of the characters that you wanted that didn't make it in this time.

That's how they get you.

That's called a big jump the gun assumption based on the demo at E3/Japan Expo which people really need to quit making until Koei says otherwise.
