That Freedom stream (which I just finished watching) was surprisingly high energy considering it was 2 guys for the most part (and Brad).

Jeff, Dan, and Alexis giving Brad Dota 2 shit, the Dota Bros giving Jeff shit back, (with Danny giving Drew technical hiccups shit as a side show) made it sing.

Learning how obsessive Dan was about playtime accuracy was kinda surprising. I was like that once. Now I don't give a crap anymore.

Jeff's appearance on GameOverGreggy was great, never followed that show much but watching that segment made me want to see more and made me more of a fan of Greg Miller, Colin, and Nick.

Greg Miller is Giantbomb's greatest monster.

This week will most likely be a week they need to settle back in after a 3-day weekend. Not expecting much. Next week might be better but it's also time for them to start preparing for GoTY2014 and E3 2015 so could be a little slow.

Tell me Patrick is lying. Tell me he is lying on Bombin the AM today when he said there was a way to TURN OFF THE MODEM DIAL UP SOUND

That would have been life changing information. I refuse to believe it.

When i was hard up for cash and I was idling games on Steam for trading card money just before the winter sale, i left max payne 3 running for 83 straight hours so it looks like i must fucking really love that game. Never played it, and theres no way to reset that time

in short: I'm a fraudulent max payne 3 fan.

Alex needs to move his keyboard away from his mic or use something quieter. Hearing him type over Patrick on Bombin is always so distracting.

You could do it both in your modem's hardware settings, and I recall that AOL had it as a software setting you could access from its menu.

It always amused me watching endless commercials urging people to jump on DSL or cable internet by using "no more modem sound!" as a reason.

So as neat as "No Man's Sky" looks doesn't it seem like it's getting a little(a lot) hyped up?

I feel like the media itself is clamoring for info solely because the creator is not fulfilling the usual PR plan to satiate them. This results in them making noting news items out of small morsels of info, It's smart, as they are getting near enough the same, if not more, column inches of something like Destiny on a tiny percentage of the marketing budget

I totally agree with this.

It just feels like it's going to be one of those games that would be amazing if it lives up to all the promises, but it is just getting set up to fall short.

Yup, sometimes less is more when it comes to marketing too. But it's not like the hype is only media created, it seems to have gone over extremely well with gamers just because of the few trailers they've put out. I'm remaining sceptical for now, procedurally created worlds are so insanely difficult to make compelling and we don't really know enough about the game yet.

No Man's Sky looks like a game that could be awesome, but isn't for me cause I don't like the "make your own fun" kinda game like Day Z or The Forrest or Minecraft, I want objectives etc.

I dunno, from my perspective, their marketing plan is working against them. Releasing little info about your game is a valid strategy, but being kinda vague and inappropriately philosophical with the information you put out there is, to me, a cause for concern. Not dramatically so, of course, but they shouldn't keep it up, imo.

No Man's Sky will probably be solid, but i think what people are expecting from it is too good to be true; especially from a small indie team. I think it will run into the issue that a lot of randomly generated games run into in that there's no only so much variation that it can create. It eventually gets to the point in those games (for me, at least) that you start to notice the 20 or so building blocks and variations that are used to make up the levels, and then they start to feel very samey with just geographical differences or the like.

I doubt it is a PR strategy, Likely they are vague because that game is years away from being done. If they are not talking much about the actual gameplay systems, it is likely because they are still up in the air.

On a different note. I hope that when GBeast gets it's collective shit together they can fill this monday gap a little. A 45 minute podcast is better then we used to get but is a mere snack and does little to fill my dark void of boredom.

I think that's one of the things Vinny was mentioned trying to fix when he first announced he was moving

Listening to Bombin' this the possible GBNY video content this week (if everything goes to plan - which would be a miracle based on their current setup),

Once they get the go ahead, the are buying the component parts to build a PC. They said they will build it on camera. So....

How To Build a Kick-Ass Gaming PC with Vinny & Alex

...should be a thing. Also...

Pre-UPF Show

...seems confirmed according to Alex. This seems the most definite thing on the lineup to my ears...

Possible Quick Looks are...

Astebreed (needs new PC to work)
Xenonauts
Divinity: Original Sin (needs new PC to work)

The pre shows seems like a good idea as a little addition to whatever they're working on on those days. I can't wait for how to build a PC.

It's megan's law.... which is the law that makes it so sexual predators have to be registered and notifiy the neighbors and shit.

Ah, is it a US law? Non-States here.

Was there some background to it which made it funny or was it kinda because of the game he was playing?
