Uhhhhh, I can't play Shovel Knight without the gamepad?
This sucks, waiting on another gamepad charger.
The price for both Etrian Odyssey games is $14.99, btw.
Where did you hear that? I can't confirm it, but Yacht Club Games list all supported controllers here. Shovel Knight supports every possible controller on Wii U.Uhhhhh, I can't play Shovel Knight without the gamepad?

Is Etrian Odyssey IV worth it for $20? How about the remake of the first EO? Never played any in the series but I can appreciate a good RPG.
Though I noticed Amazon is selling EO4 for $24. I love having all of my games on a SD card but the thought of being able to resell is tempting...

What!? What!?
I heard this is true with Child of Light too...someone please say it isn't so.

Not sure where you heard that. I played through the whole game with the Wiimote and it was exceptionally comfortable.
I tried turning it on and it said the Wii U couldn't communicate with the gamepad(which is dead obviously), didn't matter how many buttons I pressed on the Pro Controller, I couldn't get into the game.
It seems you need the gamepad on to get into the game at least, which sucks for me right now.
That does suck, sorry to hear it. Play some Kung Fu Rabbit in the meantime!
Been contemplating buying the game, but was going to hold off because of Shovel Knight. Can I start the game without a gamepad?
I can't guarantee, but for the $2.50 sale it's worth the risk IMO. I do play it without the Gamepad, just not sure how I start it up. I can check for you later on this evening though.
Some of the decisions Nintendo makes are baffling.
Can't even go to the eshop without a gamepad sadly, forgot about that.
A console that relies on its controller? Craziness.
Yes, I know you can't have several Gamepads, but still, it's an integral part of the system.
Hoping it's good

Picked up Ninja Gaiden 3 from Toys R Us for $7.50. Have I made a horrible mistake? Also is it okay to play this without the predecessors?
Ah, that is frustrating, sorry. I didn't even think of that. Hopefully there's something else you can play in the meantime. Will your GamePad be all set soon?
Was playing MK8 earlier, no worries about having other things to play, just expressing my disappointment about a weird design decision.
Also frustrated that I'm now on my fourth or fifth gamepad charger because my dog keeps chewing threw them. He hasn't chewed threw any other cords but my previous gamepad ones for whatever reason and there aren't any cheap ones on Amazon with Prime, so I'm not sure how long it will take to get here. The last one was pretty quick, so hopefully by the end of the week.
NintendoLife says that it's the PAL version.![]()
Black Ops 2 is definitely worth $15 go back! There are still enough people online to get into TDM matches super-quickly, and lag/connection issues have not been an issue at all for me. If you like the series at all, it's worth owning to play a quick game or two when the urge arises.Picked up Ninja Gaiden 3 from Toys R Us for $7.50. Have I made a horrible mistake? I also got this thing for $3.

I figured I'd put it towards the wonderful 101 instead lol. I had gone to the store in search of it but there were no copiesBlack Ops 2 is definitely worth $15 go back! Yes, assuming the developers are even getting the rating for over there (they should be it is a high profile game).so when is Australia getting Shovel Knight? (3DS) I assume we are bundled with UK peoples despite living on the other side of the planet.
Basically the Nintendo online infrastructure went by the console regions so being then PAL you are stuck waiting for translations. It is kind of sad really because I remember in the 90s you would would get PAL N64 games months earlier but the missing the French and German translations.
Bought Etrian Odyssey Untold. The price was finally low enough for me to consider a digital copy.
Anyway, can I backup saves from digital games on 3DS? Would be nice if I'd be able to switch out saves, so my girlfriend can also play the game.
But in the case of Shovel Knight (what I am replying to Gez about) the developer themselves have said translating the game is the exact reason for the later European (and as a result Australian) release. I guess the developer could go for an Australian release (well the Nintendo published Snapdots was released only in Australia) but I can imagine needing two NOE lot checks then, one for the English only version. So please stop blaming mainland Europe, because translations into other languages are not the problem most of the time.
How does how NOE operates now have anything to do with N64 games which came out in 2000 or earlier? It was just a side point that came to mind regarding Australia waiting for translations as once upon a time they did not (while not being US imports with AUS rating stickers like the DS games were).1. Most N64 games and even some SNES games actually have been translated into German and French.
2. Most games published on Nintendo consoles are Japanese games, which will be translated simultaneously from Japanese into German, French, Spanish, Italian and English. It's not like the English translation is done first.
Click the < icon to the right of manual. From what I understand save backup tool allows for 30 saves globally (they're in an easy to locate folder on the SD card too). I think you can only use them on that 3DS. The system settings manual has more info on it so have a read of that before doing anything.Bought Etrian Odyssey Untold. Wii U | Virtual Console
- Kuru Kuru Kururin (Nintendo | Game Boy Advance | ¥702)
Alright, I guess the virtual console is dead for the Japanese 3DS? Over 2 months without a release now. Where are all the PC Engine games?
With Kuru Kuru Kururin, it doesn't need PC Engine games.
How does that help the 3DS?![]()
Wish Cacpcom would port over Ace Attorney Dual Destines to the Wii U. Don't want to buy a 3DS just for that
I will if I have to though. Just not any time soon
Ittle Dew is now completed for the European Wii U eShop! The biggest update is localization, but we have also addressed the two biggest complaints from the NA release: stuttering during saving, and that no sound is coming from the GamePad. We have also made a number of smaller bugfixes and polish overall.
Ittle Dew Wii U EU changelog:
Localization for English, Spanish, French, German & Italian
Threaded saving no more stuttering!
Audio on the GamePad
Bugfixes
Were currently waiting for age ratings and final approval, and expect to have Ittle Dew in the EU eShop by August stay tuned for release date. Sadly it doesnt look like there will be a German release though the USK rating is quite expensive and it might not even make its money back in Germany.
We also intend to patch the NA version with these changes. Apart from being improved over-all, a Spanish localization also means we can publish it in Mexico! Lastly, were also in talks with a publisher in Japan about a Wii U release there stay tuned for more info!
Good and bad news for the European release of Ittle Dew.
Next week on Japan eShop

Yes, the GBA releases had voice clips, including Toad's screeching. http://youtu.be/9VDFzs_lp7sHad the GBA version of SMB2 added in Sound samples? I would like to play the SNES All Star version again, but I hated the added sound samples in GBA SMB3..

I feel like I'm the only one that likes the voice clips in the SMA games. Although they do happen a bit too much in the first one, I guess.
