PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

AustraliaGAF... Just popped into my local JB HiFi and the new vita 2000s were very prominently displayed next to the PS4s.

To my amazement, the physical games also had a really good piece of shop real estate too.

I've been going to that same shop for years and this is the first time in the last 6 months or so that the vita and its software has been on the shelves.

Annecdotal, but a good sign.

Ps - Child of Light is out on disc too.

Freedom Wars will not be on shelves for AusGAF. Still a good sign?

I'll do it when I get home (at the office atm) then add you in PSN once I'm done. But don't expect OP spirits from me since I played only for about 8-10 hours. :(
No worries!

since you once played the game you should orbs piled up and if you're PS+ you can grab 35 more free to summon the 5x EU summon (if from US).

Neat. I'll do just that and give them to you later. I have a US account but I'm from Asia so my spirits might be different from what you have.

Can we give the orbs to other players? I think I still have some left since I only used my orbs once for that Knack summon.

All this talk abou DoS made me realize that I traveled around 600km this weekend and forgot to hunt during it :(

I can't wait for the next Muramasa DLC, even though I haven't played the second one yet.

Have you seen both of Okoi's endings at least?
I hope to get to Gonbe's second ending this weekend to play the new DLC without guilt.

Nice. I actually just went into the local EB here to poke around at the specials. The Vita section in there is kind of sad, maybe 90cm wide and there were very few new release titles there. The JB is decent though, they seem to get all the new releases.

Destiny of Spirits was a decent way to pass time for the first few areas, but then I just hit a wall after clearing six (a Light boss with tons of HP). Is there any way to power up your spirits (without spending real money) besides playing the same damn fights over and over and over to slowly farm resources for merging? It's the opposite of fun, but it's possible I'm missing something.

Is it a good sign that there's hardware on the shelves, software on the shelves but a Japanese hunting game that's been localised for the west isn't?

Yes. It is.
But that's not a hunt- fuck it, it's a first party title anyway, it's not a random japanese game.

so none wants to give up there spirits?

I am about to give up with this game, the "Familiar Face" trophy is one of the biggests bullshits I have seen in this hobby.

I wanna buy p diva f, but with that I will seal my virginity for ever

Lots of girls love Hatsune Miku, you will have one topic more for conversation ;)

That doesn't mean anything, it's absolutely pathetic that they're dropping the ball on a Sony game.

Cool. You're angry about it... Good for you. Protest with your wallet and don't buy any more Sony games.

I still stand by my original point - which had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH FREEDOM WARS - that the vita having a strong showing in my local jb hi fi is a good (albeit anecdotal) sign for the device.

I am hoping that is a good sign too.

That's even dumber than Jim Ryan's plan for the Vita.

I wasn't contesting your point, I was just pointing out that the game's bigger than you might have thought.

Cool. Do buy sony games... Stay angry about stuff you can't control and I'm sure you're right - I'm sure it will sell millions outside of japan.

I'm not angry and I don't know why you're so passive agressive about this but it's very likely it will sell millions, after all your local store has the Vita in stock, it must be selling like hotcakes.

I'm going on vacation later this month, and I'll be stopping by Japan for a day on the way back. Any suggestions for what I should pick up? I was thinking about getting one of those lime green Vita 2000s, but the button swap will probably drive me insane (yes, I know the buttons only affect the UI and a few games).

I thought it would bother me too but it is probably the biggest non-issue ever. To be honest after a day or two pressing circle feels second nature.

Honestly, I thought it would have annoyed the bejesus out of me too but after some initial confusion (Japanese import 1000 since release), I literally never think about the button swap anymore.

You'll be fine.

A good cover, used games , god eater 2 best edition (its around $25~)

Freedom Wars is what, August?
They'll let you know a day before it releases.

No date yet for the west.

I just hate the fact that some games have swapped buttons while others don't. I don't care about the color on my Vita that much, to be honest.

Most games adjust the button prompts when they're swapped, so for new games you shouldn't have issues.
As for old games, the only one that I remember giving me trouble is Muramasa - you pick items and open chests (and talk, maybe?) with circle, but the big X will always be there to mess with your head.

Everyone is enjoying Rorona Plus right?

RIGHT

Ehehe
(Still playing Meruru+, Rorona+ will come after that)

That'll be $10 PSN Credit for 5+ Jokers.
jk, but not really.
Otherwise, shoot me a DoS friend request and I'll start throwing them your way regardless.

All the nerd girls are at conventions. Just assume anyone that's not with a male is single. You make some good friends being trapped in a line for a couple of hours at a time. Also, go ahead and buy Diva f.

Holy shit, why is Cytus Lambda so damn good? I bought it a while back and finally decided to play in earnest. A little rough around the edges, but definitely tickles that rhythm game itch you can't get from stuff like Project Diva and DJMAX Technika Tune.

And it's my birthday! 22-years old now! I saw a kid playing Soul Sacrifice on a Vita while waiting to get my smartphone fixed, all is right with the world.

Yeah, the Brissy JB's seem to do a good job of promoting the Vita, Carindale in particular. Always pretty prominent!

That said, they were out of Dragon's Crown at $20. So, boo.

Levine's talking about crushed dreams on Twitter again:
Thinking about Levine's concept, how expensive would that even be to make? If Wayforward could slap together an apparently pretty decent Transformers SRPG on an Activision licensed game budget, I'm pretty sure this wouldn't have broke the bank.

I saw that earlier today, it looks like SCEA does not want to invest too much on the Vita now :/ Sucks that there are some devs that want to put something on the Vita but SCEA just won't budge. :/

Happy Birthday!!!!

Happy Birthday !! Mines next me thinks. If I had a $5 PSN credit somewhere I'd think about sharing it. But I don't.
