I may not be as knowledgeable as some of you folk but I think I'm ever so slightly more impressed at how the German side were able to systematically destroy Brazil with surprising efficiency than I am at Brazil utterly shitting the bed.

- We don't have a team. Our midfielders are terrible; our defense is irresponsible; our attack is too stiff.
- Even then, this was enough to make it to the semifinals. The thing is: they were too nervous. There was just too much pressure on their backs. This squad has been like this since 2010 was over. "You just have to win the next World Cup, it's in our home turf!" was all they heard. So every single time the opposing squad scored, they had a mini nervous breakdown and stopped playing for a little while. Problem is: Germany knew that, and they took advantage of that. They are good. They wouldn't let the opportunity pass. And so the mini nevous breakdown became the most embarrassing performance in our history.
Well, it was boring in a way. Only one of the teams was actually playing.

Only Germany could do something like this. Any other team would have lost focus after the fourth or fifth goals.

For similar reasons I'm not all that bummed these days at what happened to Spain. It needed to happen and I feel like I can look forward to 2016 with high hopes for the team.

this was all a bit much. feel pretty bad for Brasil. i was actually pulling for them for the first time in the tourney since they were certainly the underdogs tonight. congrats to GER they are very strong and have been faves to win it all since the beginning for me.
im not investing in either team, but i feel pretty exhausted by the whole match. pretty stunning stuff. hope everything stays under control for the most part and everyone stays safe. a bit worried about all the pumped up Argies and the mood of Brasil getting the better of people. stay cool people.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but i think it's the first time Germany beat Brazil in the WC.
Don't take me for my word though. Only started watching WCs in recent memory.
Overall many records were broken and made. There were 5 to be exact, Klose being the top goal scorer ever in WC history, worst loss/biggest win/most goals scored in semis etc.. There was a post a few pages back that summed it up
