Exactly. I even worked for a brazilian company and i when i went to Brazil everyone was wondefull.

Dat football powerhouse Belgium. Good squad this WC but bit too young and lacking offence. Argentina had definitely advantage on paper in that match and it materialized.
 
I think I'm going to go with Germany this time, even though I live in 'murica, just because of the 7-1 game.

I want to thank them for all the laughs I had yesterday.

By the way, that guy they paid tribute to before the game started? Universally considered one of the best players in history, but never managed to play in a single World Cup.
 
Vlaar was by far one of the worst players on the pitch. If he can't even take a penalty at this level and point of the tournament he has nothing to do. Useless

Snailder is already shite, everyone knows it. He's never been more than an average player in his entire career. People pretend he was good at Inter but even Taribo West could have been world class there. It's fucking Inter.

RVP contributes less than what Luiz did for Brazil yesterday.

Messi was for the most part useless in the game. I can't understand how people say Messi > CR7. Messi didn't give a fuck about the game let alone the penalty shootout.

Holland and Argentina are both shit.

Maradona played in such an incredibly different athletic landscape. Context matters. You can't even start to compare Messi and Maradona's club careers in terms of success, particularly in an era nowadays where there's much more talent condensed at the top levels of club soccer.

I mean, FFS, defensive tactics evolved so substantially in the mid-90s and early 2000s.

Lazy statements of "Oh, he isn't as good as Maradona for parameters that I won't directly quantify other than 'he can't carry a team.'" are the realm of casual sports fans.

Germany is good but Brazil was so comically overrated by people on GAF. and the media, to a lesser extent.

Brazil have been fucking garbage all tournament long. the moment they weren't allowed to kick the opposition and had to play football, well, that result was coming. don't overrate Germany because of that result. remember 2010? destroyed England, Argentina... walked away empty handed.

A tactical, defensive match is not equivalent to parking the bus. Neither team shined on the attack, but both still managed to be intimidating. Enough so, at least, that it was fun watching the respective defenses be tested. Argentina, in particular, created some great chances. I kept waiting for a Netherlands vs. Mexico-esque mess up, but both teams were too good for that.

despite pulling for holland so we got our rivalries will be settled double header this weekend, i've never felt less emotion coming out of a WC semi final. the two teams absolutely neutralised each other.

Or because no one was in athlete shape and when they walked in a relaxed pace over the pitch defenders didn't need to bother with offence and attackers never had to defend .

Had to sub BMI because he had a yellow card.
Had to sub De Jong because of his injury.
Had to sub RVP because he had no pace left.

Van Gaal didn't want to leave it to penalties again.
 
after that performance i dont think i can place messi in the same league as maradona and i am a huge messi fan. he played horrible, big players are supposed to lead their team through the knockout stage, messi was class in the group stage but quite crap since his last game.

i want messi to win wc because he is the greatest player i have ever seen but not like this. he needs a stand out performance against germany if they are to win, i hope he delivers but im not holding my breath. germany are going to suffocate him in midfield.

it will be a better game, but it won't be more exciting. Germany v Argentina is the highest stakes game in ALL of sport, the tension and stakes alone guarantees it will be exciting even if it's a 0-0 that goes all the way to penalties
 
Maschpotato was amazing today. Glad to see him perform.

I don't know why Sabella had Aguero taking a penalty... he was horrible today. and he almost missed that penalty.

GG Argentina... I don't know how you beat Germany though.

being absolutely critical, seems like he dropped the ball here. ARG and NL played each other to a standstill the entire night.

Since there's still players like Ronaldo. The difference is, everywhere Ronaldo goes he performs. So far Messi mostly shines at Barca. There is no accurate reliable way to measure who's the greatest and Messi had his moments, but this WC is not very convincing in the debate about GOAT or not. And better then Pele or Maradona? Hard to tell but doubtful.
 
Messi has created the most number of goal scoring chances with 19 before this match this world cup.

He is always surrounded by 3 defenders, the reason why lavezzi and higuain were getting so much space and chances
