PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

that's disappointing.. I was planning to watch the animation after finishing the game

ehhh I enjoyed it. Anime Yu acted pretty much the same way I made him act in the game so I found it really amusing. I say it's worth a shot. Just watch the original anime before moving onto the Golden one,

The Golden anime is terrible so far. Even people saying it's "NG+" or whatever, that doesn't make that fight scene okay imo. Totally ridiculous.

If you're going to watch any Persona anime adaption just watch the Persona 3 movies.
I'm curious. Why? Of course without spoiling anything since I'm currently playing it.

edit: Never mind. The person above me explained it already.
No spoilers outside of Yu's Persona first awakening:

Video compares the scene from P4 the game, original animation and Golden Animation. Golden is the one that's ridiculously over the top.

people just seem pretty freaking adamant about calling the P4 Animation the worse thing that has happen to Persona, for how little time and budget they had they included alot of the main points of every SLink. I had no problems with P4 Animation of P4GA first episode so far.

I found the P4 animation to be a decent anime (7/10, nothing special but decent) but this first episode of the P4G anime has left a sour taste in my mouth. :(

I don't think anyone said that P4 Animation was the worst thing to ever happen to Persona here. The P4GA is ridiculous so far though, I'm sorry but that fight scene had no reason to be like that, especially in the first episode. Stupid as hell.

I just remmebered the only good thing about the P4 anime for me, the ending theme "beauty of destiny"?

Cool little tune and i like the lyrics from LJ

Edit: LMFAO AT THE IZANAGI AWAKENING FOR GOLDEN's ANIME

LMFAOOOOO. Brah uses akasha arts X10000000, then a raining Megidoloan; nuclear all out attack.

Wtf. Awful.

Are the games just text heavy or is it well written as well?
The quality of the writing (like many franchises) can fluctuate between entries in the series, however unlike many JRPGS (even the greats) there is a lot of weight and consideration put into the writing of these games that rightfully deserves praise. The characters have a depth and personality to them that many games in general wish they had.

All legit responses, and pretty close to what I was thinking when I watched the episode lol.
Add myself to that long list of reactions. The worst thing is that one of the problems with the original P4 animation was the quality of the animation and the direction, but so far the P4G anime hasn't been that much better and in this instance the direction was worse than when it was first done.

Oh shit. Beat my first song on extreme in PDf :O

There's no way I could do it again.

Bs_Pa_Y4_JCQAEFvtn_jpg_large.jpg

Oh man. I can't believe I finished another song on extreme. Guess I'm not that terrible after all

Bs_Pa3z_AIc_AAq1_Kk_jpg_large.jpg

Nope, still terrible ;__;

Learn how to dual wield.
The D-pad has the same inputs as the shapes.

I try so hard to use my left hand as well, but it just doesn't happen. Same thing when I try to play my keyboard/sister's piano. Strings of three are easy, but anything past that and the beat just drops dead.

We all know that Extreme can be difficult, but you want to know the TRUE hardest mode?

EASY

No. Beat. So. Slow.

As for the supposedly "disappointing" impact of the PlayStation 4? There's no doubt that the performance of the console has slowed down significantly since a very strong launch, but it's worth noting that sales of hardware were actually up nearly 7% year-on-year, with the PS4 and the resurgent Vita picking up slack from slower sales of the 3DS. PS4's software line-up in Japan is still largely composed of western titles with limited appeal to the local audience, and the console probably won't pick up significantly until more local software is available later this year - it's notable that the PS Vita's success in the first half of 2014 is largely attributable to the sudden arrival of software titles that match local tastes, and not (as some commentators would have it) to an upsurge of interest in PS4 Remote Play functionality. Overall, PS4 in Japan continues to perform as you'd expect for a new console with limited software - a great launch, followed by slow but steady sales while it awaits new software to spark purchases from new audiences. It's done well, but it hasn't "rescued" the Japanese market; but then again, if you take the time to understand the figures, it should be pretty clear that the Japanese market doesn't actually need rescuing.

Wait, Minecraft Vita is cross-buy. Minecraft PS3 is that system's top seller. Everyone with it on PS3 will own it on Vita.

This is going to be the quickest record ever broken in terms of downloads. People won't even be fighting for first place on the market anymore, it'll all be about that second.

lol. I bought the PS3 version of Minecraft the moment it was announced it would be cross-buy. Still baffled and surprised that they did it but I'm not complaining

I think they're pretty confident they'll still sell a tonne. And hell, wouldnt you be? Absolute domination of every chart, retail or digital, for over a year.

The moment I read that article I knew someone from VitaGAF would catch that sentence.

Vita sells because relevant titles appear... who would have thought?

spend some dollars securing those Japanese games Sony! and increase your first party support rather than dialling down dammit

I had the same problem when I first found out, I would just press them as fast as I could. :|

Follow the rhythm and press one and then the other, don't press crazy like me.

Just curious, been looking into picking up Destiny cheap via the US PSN from the UK, and I know I can get it on my UK account by linking the US one as a primary account, but how does that affect DLC? Same thing or would that be locked solely to the US account, regardless of primary settings?

It's like a New Game +. Things go fast, zero explanation, Yu uses Megidolaon in the first battle in the series.

But he sings "Everyday is great at your Junes!" along Nanako, so the series is redemeed.

How can P4Animation be the worst thing to ever happen to Persona when Trinity Soul exists?
