Sakurai used Ganondorf against this girl on a live TV show in Japan, and won in Sudden Death, but I suspect he did so because everyone was saying Ganondorf sucks and he wants to show you can use him to win in 1v1.
The girl, btw, was using Lucas. Sakurai owned her so hard that apparently Lucas might not even be on the roster in SSB4!

I like this much better as it's at a more neutral time for all three territories as opposed to an announcement at an American fighting tournament one whose attendees in the audience may not respond in a wholly positive manner (see the Killer Instinct stuff last year). Better to control it with a stream. Also there is still the chance for another type of reveal at Evo.

Giegue = Giygas, they're exactly the same name in the Japanese versions, just two different localization teams localized the name differently. And since the word Gieuge is from an unreleased beta and the word Giygas is from the only game officially released in English, they're going to go with Giygas.
Might end up being a Mewtwo clone but I think they can take "unspeakable psychic attacks" and do some things cool with it, and of course Giygas' mental breakdown state in Earthbound (which I'm assuming you mean by "how would you be able to play as Giygas?" would work pretty well as a final smash.
Pretty much need more villains + the Earthbound trilogy has a rep (assuming no cuts) from all but the first + Ninten looks too much like ness + people want Mewtwo but for some reason Mewtwo isn't coming back = Giygas, that's my reasoning!

Said beam saber also creates shields, tells the future, dodge attacks, and can turn into a BIGGER beam saber.
THAT is why people want "another sword character" because said "sword" has a lot of potential move-wise.

Sorry, my criteria for a good newcomer are pretty shallow. If it's not Bayonetta, it should be someone badass or hot. Not Ridley. I mean, Ridley would be OK if he plays well but I am definitely not on that hype train.

I don't think the Xenoblade writer retweeting the announcement necessarily means the reveal is Shulk. I think it means he knows Shulk is definitely in the game but who can say he actually knows what this particular reveal is going to be? He may have just retweeted it because it might be Shulk.
Then again I might just be clutching at straws because I want to see Chrom already.

The only Direct announcement that Next Level Games retweeted was that for the Direct in which Little Mac was confirmed. It's the best lead we've got.
lol at all the Fire Emblem fans picking nobody characters like Anna and Tiki over the main character himself. Chrom was awesome and certainly showed more personality throughout the game than Mary Sue/Stu Robin and Lucina.
I can't wait to see Chrom holding the Falchion and Fire Emblem in Smash in all his glory. It will be beautiful beyond words.

I suppose getting him out of the way would be nice. (I don't really care for him as yet; not sure why they picked a third blue-haired, sword-wielding Lord when there are other characters with different fighting styles that could vary the gameplay far more noticeably. Then again, Sakurai is full of surprises.)
