PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | July 2014

.....How isn't that modest X(; paying for ports, bring over some of the other Vita 2000 colors for bundles and bring over the 64GB memory card would take little to no effort for crying out loud :(.

If you are talking about the new games (Sony Bend, MM, GC), then I guess you would be right but it would be smart for Sony (having games be Cross-Platform means the budget would be smaller then normally, the Vita gets support without detracting resources from PS4 games, and the PS3 gets support too).

....Then again, I guess I was being TOO hopeful that Sony would do something for the Vita, so, don't mind me :(....

How isn't that modest? Well, you're throwing down a list of things that would rival what they announced for the PS4 at E3 and saying "this is what I expect, and it's not a lot".

"Not a lot" would be what we're likely to get - a new bundle (one, not a range of them), two new "big" game announcements (quotes around big as it's relative), some indies, and maybe a 64 GB.

Hate to burst your bubble.

Edit; TotP Recommendation.

Go buy Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havok and catch up before Goodbye Despair releases this September. =D

"Vita love" is like Cape Fear love:

My bets for Gamescom are very modest :l.

- 64GB Memory Cards finally coming to EU and US at retail for 60 bucks, with 32 and 16GB memory cards getting discounted (with 32GB = 40 bucks and 16GB = 20 bucks).
- Ratchet Collection gets a release date for US sometime for August (late most likely).
- Team Ico Collection gets announced for Vita alongside either Prince of Persia and/or Splinter Cell Collection coming for Vita (Sony would pay for these ports to pad out releases).
- Gravity Rush 2 gets another trailer and is announced to be a cross-platform games (coming to PS4/PS3/Vita).
- New Killzone Mercenary game (same engine with the same levels but with some new content lifted from Shadow Fall) coming early next year.
- Sony Bend and MM show off there games (cross-platform tittles for PS4/PS3/Vita)
- Sanzaru announces Sly 5 for PS3/Vita (summer next year)
- PlayStation TV gets more information released (great BC with PSP/PS1 games, larger amount of Vita games compatible with it, Minecraft bundle announced for it).
- New Vita bundles for EU: Green Vita 2000 (Minecraft), Yellow Vita (Ratchet Collection), Red Vita (God of War Collection), White Vita (FF X/X-2 Remaster), Blue (Freedom Wars) and Black Vita (basic model with 16GB MC).
- More Indie games announced for the device (expected; SCEE does a great job courting indies to Vita :D)
- I suppose some kind of third party support from other publishers (um....2K porting X-Com to Vita? .....Square porting a few of there mobile games to Vita? ....I honestly don't know man :l).

I must laugh at the ones that are bolded, Only because those are the things that would be fantasic to do, but there is little to no chance of it happening, as much as i would like it too :(

Fixed :)

Now about your opinions:

Sure tier:

Likely tier:

Posible tier:

Well at least some of my predictions are possible :). I think the reason why LBP 3 isn't on Vita is due to Sumo Digital not fimilar on using the LBP engine with Vita (....though that might just be a shitty excuse on my part; they did a wonderful job porting both VT4 and Sonic Racing Transformed to Vita :D).

The other games though do make since as multiplatform tittles; MM, Bend and GC all know how to make the Vita hardware sing, so that combined with the cheaper expenses of cross-platform development (lower budget = less money Sony has to spend) make that a good idea :D.

As for the colored Vitas, that could be a way to 'revive' the Vita in EU (the different colors might make more sales :D).

Okay, sorry if I came off rude then :(. Its just that there are many ways they could help the Vita sell better but they don't bother doing that :l.

I must sudoku.

I couldn't find a clear shot of Deniro's tattoos on image search, and just assumed it was some original that the Deniro version was based on.

Easy mistake to make! Robert Mitchum is in both Night of the Hunter, and the original 1962 Cape Fear. But he had no tats in it:

That is an exaggeration. There is a difference, but it is not huge.

Have you played FFX and Spelunky on the OLED and then the Slim?

Those are my most-played games and I want to know how they look on it.

I've noticed blotches (mura?) on the screen when I play at night (not during actual gameplay) and kinda want to retire it, or at least have a 2000 model for regular use and the OLED for super special games.

I'll just chime in on these three.

64 memory cards being announced in EU seems likely (and the discounts that follow with bigger ones being released)
I was thinking the other day what could they possibly have to release on Vita after the Ratchet, Sly, Jak and God of War collections and Team ICOs one seems the most likely to be next, God of War Collection Volume 2 probably wont come due to them already being on Vita via PSP. (even if I would love native Vita versions that run well) Gravity Rush 2 is way way more likely to be re-revealed at TGS than Gamescom and the chances of it showing are pretty low but you never know.
Don't tell me you don't want a sub-native, low-poly, 5-card physical edition.
Wouldn't it be a little annoying to have to change carts for a 40 hour movie?
I'd be there day one though

A potentially dumb question, but I'm a bit worried after that last PSN ban topic: I should be able to make purchases on my US PSN account internationally without anything happening to my account, right? Also, does anyone know of any cheap portable chargers for the Vita? I see the official one is $25 on Amazon right now, so should I just go for that one?

They could port Ratchet: Gladiator, but after the dire state of the PS3 port I'm not sure I'd be interested.

where is ape escape collection

On the loose + 2 +3

ape escape collection 2 features localized versions of the jp games

c'mon sony
Not sure if I'd actually want that, considering I've already played the most interesting one of the bunch.

A trilogy or even just 2+3 though...give it to me pls

How do you fund your PSN wallet? Reading that thread, it seems there was a PayPal charge-back that banned his account. I use US Amazon personally to generate codes from my UK credit card, which seems to work OK for me.

I use a combination of Amazon codes and PayPal, but I'll definitely stay away from PayPal when I'm on vacation. I should have enough money in my account right now to buy Rogue Legacy though. :)

So i just find out my imported Japanese PS3 cant play PS1 games?

Is this true or am I doing it wrong? It goes on a install loop when I try to play a downloaded title.

If this is true, will it also do it to downloaded ps2 games?

Are your PS1 games bought from the EU/AUS PSN store?

That. Pretty sure PS1 games are region locked.

I don't know if a Japanese PS3 is a special case, but I only buy PS1/PS2 classics from the NA PSN store to avoid the 50Hz nonsense in Aus, and they definitely aren't region locked.

Im using a Japanese PS3, with my USA PSN account.

And yea, I tried installing Front Mission 3 and Vagrant Story, and it'll say install complete, but when I go to click again, it'll just keep installing.

Guess PS1 games are region locked. Wish I knew sooner, but it wouldnt have changed much. I wanted that One Piece PS3 bad, and I could always use my Vita for PS1 games.

EDIT: However I would need to also know if this is the case with PS2 classics, so I dont end up wasting my money buying it.

If you install them on another account they can be played from there, but I don't believe they'll install across accounts. I could be wrong, but from reading up that's how I understood it.

This goes for PS1 and PS2 games, afaik.

I don't play anything on my US account, it's only for purchasing/downloading games. I have 100 hours on my US version of P3FES with my AUS account, I also started a save on the old Sim City 2000 recently, they work fine.
Only physical PS1 games are region locked.

Totally dumb question, but you are selecting the correct game after the install right? It will make a new icon for the installed game, and you have to manually delete the original install file.

I'm certainly looking toward Gamescom, I want to see what indie games will be announced on it. Couldn't care less about Sony games.

Same here. I'm hoping for at least a release date for Hotline Miami 2 and The Binding of Isaac.. Only Sony game im looking forward to is Freedom Wars..

Omg not a dumb question
I thought the install file wud delete itself much like the ps3 gzmes
Also the file moves to the end of the list so i dont see it
Thank you

I'm not whether what you posted is serious or a jab at Sony (I'm gonna assume the former though!), but I'm really looking forward to Gamescon. Last year's barrage of indie game announcements was amazing. So many games I wanted to play.

I'm expecting a decent showing for Vita at Gamescom; 1-3 "big" game announcements and a bunch of indies. That'd be fine for me. If we don't get at least one new retail game announcement I'll be disappointed.

It's serious. I bought the device for some japanese games, PSP games that I never played AND indie games, which are perfect for the device.

AAA games, cinematic experiences... all that crap should remain on consoles, IMO. Medium budgeted games and small budget games are the best for portables.

Ah okay. I bought my Vita for the reasons and it hasn't disappointed yet.

Change that Yellow Vita Bundle into a Infamous one and you got me.

I expect nothing from gamescom for Vita.
Maybe some solid release dates for the supposed 40+ games Shahid has been working with developers on would be nice.

Sony doesn't care about the Vita anymore.

Me too.
Wipeout XL, Wipeout 3, and a few more actual PSX games would be nice (not Japanese language only games)

Officially, the noises sony have been making would definitely indicate that they're backing off from supporting the vita in the west.

If anything, they'll be adopting an agnostic approach: if the hardware sales numbers surprise sony due to remote play and playstation now, they might throw some money at it.

I expect an Indie fizzle reel at gamescom.

I think sony will have some new vita games, probably cross platform with ps3/4 and may not come from their own internal studio. But I can see sony get some interesting game in development from indie and pick them to be published to be ps exclusive.
