Since I'm not a Silent Hill fan, I'd say excellent but I also see he's also worked with Shirou Sagisu on the Rebuild of Evangelion stuff so that's cool.

Yes it can. Good work.

I love Silent Hill music, but initially I had heard this was his first performance in America. Turns out that's not the case so it's not as historic of an event as I'd first thought, plus my car is fucked as of yesterday and I won't have the money for the trip once I've fixed my car.

Edit: Also, Troy Baker had to bail on the event so the band is going to have a backup in his stead. Was looking forward to seeing him too.

I had planned on visiting the moon on the 17th, but I decided it could wait, so I called up NASA to postpone the trip. They sounded rather confused and didn't know how to respond.

They hate their Xbox fanbase! The people who put them on the map! Woe! Woe is the Xbox owner!

Lol.

I think the Bungie screwed xbox narrative is so fucking tired and lame and yes, I realize I quoted a joke post. I say this as a Mac guy who played the Marathon and Myth series. Bungie earned their stripes on the Mac, remember? Then they sold me out as a Mac user by jumping on the original xbox with Halo. What comes around goes around. No sympathy here.

Destiny and Bungie have seemed heavily affiliated going WAY back to before the consoles were even released. It's been readily apparent from the jump that if you wanted the best Destiny version that you would find it on the ps4. They basically trumpeted it! Everyone knew this. Now many salty tears are spilled and much whining has commenced. Why? I just don't get it. How could anyone who was a huge Bungie fan or follower of Destiny buy an xbox one and expect parity?

I can't help but have no empathy, let alone care if it's "fair". My personal opinion is that many people placed all their chips on Titanfall and the massive hype train surrounding it and now that Destiny seems to be the real deal and the Titan falters there are a lot of very upset people. Truth.

But you're still going to the moon...

I'm looking forward to getting a lot of game time in on the 17th but I'll be at a wedding for that weekend... As much as I want to play Crucible, drinking and dancing takes precedence.

Hype Thrusters are at maximum!

Honestly cannot wait. Been dying for a true multiplayer FPS go-to game since Killzone 2 or even Resistance Fall of Man. This seems to be it!

*waits for a proper Resistance Fall of Man 2/Killzone 2: 2/ Warhawk 2*

Yeah I don't want to mess with the preloading stuff because I don't know how it'll affect getting the Beta participation emblem on my US account for launch.

Gah, Troy Baker's done that to me too before. He was supposed to come to NZ for a Con and I'd gotten a big BioShock Infinite canvas printed up that I wanted him to sign, and then he wasn't able to make it because Ken required more audio to be recorded. Broke my heart ;_;

Glorious Warlock grenade, it looks like?
Yup, God-tier Void Grenade.

Possibly someone in the background with a Sniper Rifle, doing headshots?

There were only three of us and we all had pulse or auto rifles. The same thing happens to the Acolyte, and I noticed it earlier that day when we had done the same thing to the Fallen Dregs near the Grottos. When their health is low, a grenade will stun them, they'll cringe, and then their meter will rapidly diminish until they die. I've only seen the ??? enemies cringe like that.

Maybe it's something with those higher-tier enemies that causes them to die quicker the closer they are to death. I honestly don't know.

"The Gjallarhorn shoulder-mounted rocket system was designed and personally crafted by Feizel Crux as a gift to the Guardians who fought the Battle of the Twilight Gap. Forged from the armor of the thousands who fell, to wield Gjallarhorn is to weild honor against any attempt at our extinction."

Quick, Quiet, Cunning, Brave, Crazy. Cayde-6's predecessor, Andal Brask, was ahead of his time.

That's a scan from the Field Guide in the LE/Ghost Edition, right?

Have always loved the detail bungie puts into these items for their Limited Editions, i get hours of reading out of them and the little secrets and references they put into them.

I agree. Any self respecting bungie fan should have known to buy a ps4 over Xbox one if destiny was truly there most anticipated next gen game. The year exclusive dlc in dlc is still pretty terrible though. I doubt Xbox one people will be missing out on a whole lot, but is still a business practice that should be frowned upon.

The description says it took 90 minutes to down him. I would've quit after 10

It was the last day of the Alpha and nearing the wee hours of the morning, so we figured we would do it to say we did.

The Hallowed Knight seemed like the tank at first, but then he died and we moved on to the Acolyte...

It took 90 more minutes to take down half of his health. He was the real boss. We died more often because he had a ranged attack. I think the Hallowed Knight would have died sooner were it not for the Acolyte shooting us when we moved in closer.

It certainly takes a while since they're so much higher above our level, but it's doable with the right weapons and strategy. I might attempt to take down the Hive Ogre in Grottos next...

Meh, I'll be hella dissapointed if we only get Old Russia again. I wanna see something different. So far they've focused so heavily on that one zone, it's getting old.

It will be new to most BETA players though. Not all of us were lucky enough to get in on the alpha.

As an Alpha participant, I'm almost hoping it IS Old Russia again, just with some tweaks and a different strike. I don't wanna burn myself out on any additional areas.

Haven't played the game yet, since I'm on Xbox, but I have a question about Old Russia.

In an E3 demo from 2013, it was said you could go down the highway where the cars are on the other side of the wall, or beyond the nearby cliff to the hills that go out into the distance. I was watching a video earlier from the Alpha, and although you could go to where the E3 demo began with the cars and water and such, there was an invisible barrier blocking off the area beyond that when he tried to jump over the gap in the highway bridge. Is this just a limitation of the Alpha, or did something change and this is now the edge of the "map"?

Hopefully US has decent pre-load time. Like a day before. I'd like to pre-load at my friend's house then bring my ps4 back.

I don't have a link but I'm pretty sure Bungie said they'd start sending download codes out in waves the day the beta actually begins (the 17th), so I don't think we're going to get to preload.

I was talking about PS4 digital downloads, since those don't require a code just for PSN to put it in your list i guess.

Pretty sure that's the edge of the map. I was sad that I couldn't go further at first, but really there doesn't seem to be anything interesting past the cars. The map is big enough though, can't wait to see how big it is in retail since at least two areas were blocked off in the alpha.

Oh well. The map does look pretty huge, though. Has there been any confirmation on other Explore locations on Earth?

brehs, I feel so left out not having played the Alpha :(

GAF is going wild, pages on pages on tens of pages of posts and I'm having difficulty wrapping my head around all the different RPG elements and stuff. It seems very complex, and there seems to be a lot of information you need to dig up one place or another. I really hope the game makes sense of a lot of this.
