I'd say, since it specifically mentions AU, it'll be either EB Games or JB HiFi - most likely from an internal memo from EB Games.

will either be same one with some changes or one in a different location. xbox people didnt get to run around old russia so it makes sense. i wanted more time with old russia anyway, and this keeps the rest preserved until release.

I actually hope it is. I'd like to see what gameplay changes they have made, and how better to compare than redoing the most frustrating (to most, I was fine with it.) part of the Alpha?

Ladies and gents, remember: just because there are some of the same areas doesn't mean it'll be the same. This is the beta, things will be different. 
A lot of people didn't. I topped a lot of the games, just by moving from Flag to Flag capturing to build up my Super, then dropping t3h Nova Bomb on a cluster on n00bs.

Well I knew you got points from killing. But game play is so fast that I never took the time to see. That you never got points for holding the flags. Only capturing them. They're used as score multipliers for kills.
I think that's pretty cool.
Yeah, which is why it's imperative that you defend/attack that 2nd flag as quickly as possible, if you're 2-1/1-2.

That's why i dont mind playing the same areas and gametypes again. There is still so many things that havent been exposed or discoverd yet.
Im looking forward to what other twists they can pull on the gametypes.

Meh, I'll be hella dissapointed if we only get Old Russia again. I wanna see something different. So far they've focused so heavily on that one zone, it's getting old.

Ahh, awesome! I finally finished my PS3 backlog and then sold the console to help pay for the bundle. I'm fine with waiting until release to play it though!

Why would you be disappointed? Bungie/Activision didn't have to release that Alpha, you know.
I think you might not want to play the beta then, because I'm pretty sure that's the only place we'll be able to Explore.

We also gotta keep in mind that Xbox owners still haven't been able to try out Destiny. Would be (even more) unfair to not give everyone the same Beta.

There are so many good looking single player games coming out in October that there are bound to be good deals come Black Friday for a nice Holiday game.

They kinda did. In the wake of sour PR and lackluster trailers, the alpha was a smart way to let the game speak for itself.
Part of the reason their trailers underwhelmed is actually because of Old Russia's over exposure. It's a science-fantasy game, but Old Russia in trailers has showcased neither and inadvertently narrowed the scope of the game.
You're right in the sense that we werent supposed to visit Old Russia until the Beta, but it was a very wise, if not necessary decision to get people in there early. Context is everything, and now that people understand the game, the positive response is only helping Bungie. Without the alpha, there wouldnt be these many Destiny threads.

PvP maps, yes. Free Roam/Explore, no.

I was hoping the beta would have some missions on the moon. I can understand the decision to use the same content though. I'm just happy to play more of the game prior to release.
For me, it's Destiny beta -> The Last of Us -> Hohokum -> Infamous: First Light -> Destiny. Not a bad summer for gaming.
