Everyone arguing about supers....

Can we focus on the important stuff like getting fusion coils and cones and boxes and junk into multiplayer? I want to shoot a cone with my Golden Gun and have it bounce across the map and get me a melee kill like wtf.

speaking of team chat, amazon sent my ps4 headset to my other address, which i wont be at for the beta. i tried to change shipping to where i am now but they couldnt get to it in time. they issued me a full refund and told me to buy it again and send the order number so theyll refund my one-day shipping.
so ill have two headsets for less than the price of one.

Based amazon indeed. I wish the price didn't go up for prime though. There needs to be a 2 day shipping only prime that's cheaper. I don't give a single crap about any of the other things they include like the streaming stuff and the "rent" a kindle book thing.

PROTIP: If you are a university student, you can join Amazon Student and get Prime free for 6 months and then 50% the normal annual price.

i dont want to start a console war since i will own all the systems this gen, but i cant help but wonder why the xbox one's record and broadcast features are so far behind the PS4. The ease of broadcasting footage and saving or sharing gameplay is one thing that drew me to playing Destiny on the PS4. It looks needlessly convoluted on XBO and i feel like id miss more key gameplay moments as a result. Kinect doesnt seem like itd make much difference. you can save more gameplay much faster without talking to your PS4. I hope Microsoft is able to make it more efficient.

"Xbox broadcast" and "Xbox record that" are pretty damn easy...

Broadcasting is really simple. You just need to snap Twitch or say "Xbox, broadcast" to start. The clip stuff is mostly based on using the 30 second clips and was made around the idea of using Kinect to say "Xbox, record that". The only thing that's kinda a pain is the 5 minute buffer which you can save and edit but that takes a little more effort to get to.

I wish my alumni email address worked. I tried registering for it last week, but it wouldn't let me. My sister just finished grad school, and her specific school allows her to keep a normal .edu emal address forever, so she's going to be using Amazon Student until the Fallen and Hive lay waste to Earth.

so is a few keystrokes, neither of which require a $100 peripheral or a quieter room. A dedicated Share feature is brilliant and Sony needs to make sure it works properly.

I dont have XBO yet so correct me if im wrong, but didnt they take out the guide menu? A media tab there would have been quick and efficient.

You can double tap the Xbox button to snap and bring up upload studio pretty quickly

That's fine, but saying that streaming or recording a clip on xbox isn't easy and quick is just not correct.

That's what im looking for. If it's all readily accessible, then that's great. They just need to give people more than 30 seconds or 5 minutes. 15 minutes isnt so hot either, but it at least accounts for an entire Crucible match.

i did say i didnt own the system so i wasnt expecting to be 100% correct. What i garnered from that article is that it takes more steps. Even if it is faster with kinect, going through kinect is a turn off.

It might not be ideal but streaming on Twitch and pulling the archive of it is always an option for longer videos like a full Crucible match.

IIRC you can select 30 seconds, 1, 3, or 5 minutes.

It'd be nice to get something longer like 15 though.

that's what i had planned to do, but i missed the memo when twitch went ahead and disabled archives by default. i didnt enable archives before i broadcasted the alpha, so 2-3 hours worth of PvP wasnt saved :(

the more you know though. i will be prepared for the beta withdrawal this time.

I haven't played it yet (damn exclusive alphas >:( ) but is good equipment really important for PvP?

How much of advantage can equipment give you?

It does kinda suck coming from the Theater modes in Halo 3, ODST and Reach not to have a full feature set in Destiny. Saving full mp and firefight games great when your team had an epic comeback or something insane happened with a Warthog and a Brute Chieftain during the final wave of a Firefight game.

Well for example I had equipment that brought my golden back faster and have better reload speed.

I love fast gameplay. So both helped me get back into the fight. It's not really an advantage per-se imo. It's more like....it makes it easier to play your way.
Just what I noticed the short time I played.

I worded that badly. Not sure what i was thinking....
I went in with uncommon gear. Doesn't give any bonus. Once I had full uncommon gear adding bonus it gave you a little more boost in the fight.
 
I didn't get a chance to try it out because no titan tried their super on me but can't you just double jump/glide and avoid the hit? Granted of course if u can time it right. Seems only "broken" in small corridors like in that gif.

Yes, this would be ideal for all systems and should hopefully be in the final game. crucible at least needs a theater mode for saving and viewing clips - especially from different angles. that will always be a more powerful and versatile tool than game DVR

tbh it's kinda in an awkward location. i looked when i could, but it felt more deliberate than, say, a glance at the Halo motion tracker was.

It also works differently, so that may have been confusing. duncan mentioned in the last thread that it shows how close an enemy is to you. this may or may not show if they are above or below you.

I had many jump to avoid it and it didn't end well for them, it has a radius almost like nova bomb. Indoors it wrecks but you can kill a Titan in lower levels (until you become invulnerable while using it), I did it four times in the alpha with a shotgun (pure luck).

I was really wondering about the possibility of Forge mode or something similar.
But the maps don't look like they support that type of editing.

Which I prefer. I loved Forge, but half the multiplayer maps in Reach looked exactly the same thanks to it.
