I think this "win a world cup or you aren't one of the GOATs" standard is kind of insane to be honest. The World Cup isn't every year, a player only gets 2-3 shots at it while in their prime, sometimes even only 1-2.

Maradona is probably better than Messi, but Maradona also won with a MUCH better team. Messi scored or was involved in almost every goal for Argentina in this tournament. Anyone insisting he isn't one of the top players of all time because he couldn't win the cup is full of it.

On the contrary the is a clear and definite rule. If the keeper touches the ball first he gains the right to the situation. Similarly if the keeper take out the player without touching the ball first the player gains the agency in the situation and, should this occur in the box, the keeper willlikely be sent off or recieve a card and a penalty will result

I'm just talking about this because the way the collision happened was too dangerous. It was an exceptional case. Like I said before, can't blame the referee's decision. But if he had called a penalty, it wouldn't be unfair imo.

Na you challange the keeper like that at your own risk. It's high risk/reward. If you manage to nick the ball before he gets there, it's likely a penalty/freekick and a red for the keeper, but if you'r e second to the ball, all you'll get for your trouble is clattered and a freekick the other way.

Damn right! Germany really do deserve this Cup, bar none no other team played as "Consistent" as the German team did during the entire 2014 cup. Argentina had plenty of good shots on goal but failed to score..in fact both teams had a decent amount of shots on goal so it was fair play throughout the game.
 
Is there a goal highlights of Brazil vs Germany? I can't find it on YouTube. Most of them have a thumbnail of the football match, but instead shows some guy talking without a second of gameplay footage. Help!

Collisions like this one happen during pretty much every game, usually right after a corner kick. The difference here is that people just aren't used to seeing it happen that far away from the goal and during a normal attack.
Within the penalty area, it's every keeper's right to go after the ball this way. The collision probably only happened because the other player didn't expect Neuer to come this close. Neuer is known to pull these tricks (which are a massive risk) though.

lol, what? Are you trying to invent rules? Touching the ball first doesn't give you the right to tiger knee anyone, you must be able to control your gestures in any situation.

Jumping with the knee up is one of the worst wound of the modern goalkeepers.

Germany had most possession, Argentina had the best chances. Higuain misses alone in front of the GK. Germany scores in the final minutes of ET. Lots of thuggery all around.

Better chances? Argentina had only two attempts on goal. The weak offensive killed their chance to win the cup.
