"We'll mine diamonds from their ashes. Take them into the next battle with us."
Just brutal, looks like a heavyweight knock out punch.
But shit like that made the game super exciting. The players were really getting their nerves rattled. Schweinsteiger just kept taking the hits and got back up.
Haha, that was great.
lol
There is no such rule in footbal.
Btw, Germany deserved this. Neuer is the best goalie in the world and my favorite since Schalke.
Maybe on paper, but in execution, there are no cards or punishes like PKs if the "aggressor" isn't intentionally going after the player.
Countless, and I mean countless, of cardable offenses in the tournament were not handed a card exactly because of that. This situation fits exactly into that. Sorry, but that's reality, and that's why it wasn't called.
Oh look what a cute and immature response. Time to ignore you.
Lol this clown, did he even played once? yet we see him always run around with the cup.
After all, things worth mentioning:
-Of course Germany played very good, before everyone goes nuts.
-Now you know we're not Brazil.
-They showed Neuer's new fatality.
-Disastrous referee.
I'm proud, it hurts, but I'm proud. We are not a team, we are a Nation.
Bastian man of the match
Na you challange the keeper like that at your own risk. It's high risk/reward. If you manage to nick the ball before he gets there, it's likely a penalty/freekick and a red for the keeper, but if you'r e second to the ball, all you'll get for your trouble is clattered and a freekick the other way. That's bullshit, can still be a red card if he used "CARELESS, RECKLESS, INVOLVING EXCESSIVE FORCE". You could definitely make the argument for jumping with knees first like that is reckless.
It's a real hard one. The Howedes one however was a clear red.

- Higuain is standing in his way waiting for the ball to drop down.
On the contrary the is a clear and definite rule. If the keeper touches the ball first he gains the right to the situation. Similarly if the keeper take out the player without touching the ball first the player gains the agency in the situation and, should this occur in the box, the keeper willlikely be sent off or recieve a card and a penalty will result
Boateng gets my vote.
Sorry gents...Boateng gets my vote.
Higuain is running for the ball. See the replay again.

I don't know why some keep harping on this (even on tv) like this lost the game or something. Argentina had plenty of chances to score and didn't get it done. Germany's just a better team.
What kind of school grade logic is this? What tears? I'm not even argentinian, you are pathetic.
It is probably like you said.
I'm just talking about this because the way the collision happened was too dangerous. It was an exceptional case. Like I said before, can't blame the referee's decision. But if he had called a penalty, it wouldn't be unfair imo.
Sorry gents...
Super Mario and his erection clinch it after a hard match![]()
Some Argentinians are getting violent in Rio :/

You know, looking at these replays here, I'm not entirely sure the ball is even in the box when Neuer punches it. I wonder if there's a view that shows that more clearly. Not that it matters.
news links?
Argentina's defeat to Germany in the final of the World Cup caused tension and scenes of violence on Sunday evening, in Copacabana, south zone of Rio de Janeiro. Even during the game, a group of Argentine ripped screens bars and tried several times to invade the already crowded space of Fan Fest.
The situation worsened after the German goal in overtime. Scenes of violence were reported in Atlantic Avenue. Bottles and cans thrown finished and the security of the space had much work to contain the crowd with the military police. The report by UOL Sport followed the arrest of at least two Argentines.
There have been several outbreaks of rioting and even the Shock Battalion was activated. Inside the arena, the Germans were hit with beer glasses in celebration of the title. Some withdrew, but others chose to discuss with the Argentines.
The same group that promoted the brawl outside began to sing the traditional "bandeiraço" and caused quite the Brazilians.
The mood remains tense in the region. The Military Police conducts approaches and attempts to isolate the most exalted Argentines hoping to end the mess that has engulfed the nearby FIFA Fan Fest after the world's fourth championship in Germany.
Stop parsing my words. My point is he waits for the ball to drop and he is running for it (not jumping or kicking it).
What's up with Messi puking on games? It's his third of fourth time on this WC...

How was my post immature? :lol
GER defense force is pretty hilarious.
Listen, you can cheer for your Germany team all you want just don't jump on my throat when i say something against it.
Damn right! Germany really do deserve this Cup, bar none no other team played as "Consistent" as the German team did during the entire 2014 cup. Argentina had plenty of good shots on goal but failed to score..in fact both teams had a decent amount of shots on goal so it was fair play throughout the game.
So...
Pretty much a rematch of previous final.
Germany had most possession, Argentina had the best chances. Higuain misses alone in front of the GK. Germany scores in the final minutes of ET. Lots of thuggery all around.

What happened at ESPN with the graffiti "mural" that was going to be added to every single day of the tournament? The last time I saw them show the mural when Botatelli was added to it.
Maybe the artist couldn't paint fast enough... :lol
Better chances? Argentina had only two attempts on goal. The weak offensive killed their chance to win the cup.
