Dan's football trolling is just kinda lame because it's not very creative. It's the same old stuff people have been coming out with for years and not really delivered in a creative manner. LOL they fall over. LOL they cry. LOL they're not real men. I actually really like Dan but it's not his best work.

Also, not sure if he was entirely serious about the crying thing but I think a sport where participants haven't cried after winning/losing would be a rarity, right?

EDIT: welp, and there's that post up above. That's what I get for starting a post, leaving the room for some minutes and returning to finish the post. Heh.

Yes! I'm glad they hired someone who has the personality confidence to play the heel occasionally. Something sorely missed since Ryan passed.

It makes him seem like an inconsiderate jerk. Dan needs to think before he speaks, because not everything is comedy gold.

Just think, if this is how he behaves when he's "the new guy," how bad will he be once he's more comfortable with everything? It's going to be absolutely terrible having him berate the other members of Giant Bomb (or heaven forbid, their fans) on air like that.

I know Ryan had a reputation for that sort of thing, but I feel that he had a talent for always doing such "heel" things in good humour, which is something Dan is sorely lacking.


Honestly, at this moment, I'd rather subscribe to Giant BEast than Giant Bomb. Dan is certainly tilting the scale rather heavily. If the current Dan is the future of Giant Bomb, I'm out.

I think that's really enough riling about that. He made some misguided comments about football on Twitter, for crying out loud. From his perspective, he was "trolling", while in reality, he's just lacking any talent/subtletly for it. That's it.

I could go on a real winwood-y tangent here, but I won't.

I have to honestly say that match was cool. Jason used to just be a background kind of guy so to see him bust out his Street Fighter cred was cool. Although I think he's only good at street fighter. I could be wring though.

I don't care about any of this twitter shit except for the fact that 'trolling' has somehow still not managed to go the way of 'epic win/fail' in being forgotten cringe-worthy internet slang. This is the real travesty.

I'm going to guess probably not. I think he'll mostly stay behind the scenes like Ian did and Drew used to. Who knows though, after making Drew a bigger personality on the site maybe they want everyone to be involved. They may switch off who is in the control room on stuff like UPF so both of them get some exposure.

I hope Drew is on UPF more now that Jason seemed to know the tricaster ropes. Definitely back to a healthy number of staff members with Dan and Jason

Twist: As GBeast grows bigger and bigger, Vinagawa, le loupe and their colony of bots turn against the mother office and fight for the independence of the superior coast in what will be known as the Great Yoshi Wars - because, let's be honest, they don't have any weapons to fight with, and Patrick's from Chicago, so.. easy pickings. In an alternate ending, you find Cool Baby in a control room pulling all the strings, Silent Hill 2-style.
 
Speaking of Jason, it'd be pretty cool to see something like a Dan, Jeff and Jason combo where they go back and play some old fighting games and talk about the game's history and development (if they could find anything on it). They could do everything from niche Japanese fighting games, to old wrestling games.
