A horrible thought just occurred to me.

If Sal's roster count/likeness of characters was right, what if he confused Robin with Shulk?

He must be really dumb to confuse Shulk and Robin. Besides the white-ish hair, they look very different.

We'll have to see if Lucina is a seperate clone character with slight differences or just a skin of Marth that plays exactly the same.

Lucina is a newcomer.

I'm almost sure Lucina is a clone/palette swap. Every move shown being Marth's already was the first hint. If she had unique moves, they would have shown it.

Second, they've been moving away from Melee style clone characters in Brawl and probably will continue with Wii U/3DS. This is why Roy/Pichu/Dr. Mario won't return, Falco and Ganondorf received changes to further differentiate themselves, etc.

I think this reveal was only for 1 new character, one returning character, and 2 palette/voice swaps (Robin M/F and Marth/Lucina).

You are entirely wrong. Lucina is her own selectable character separately from Marth. She will have her own character icon to choose in Smash.

He also e-mailed me again this morning saying Nintendo keeps a lot secret from Bandai Namco, and that Sakurai may change his mind as he does all the time, but that Shulk was 100%.

A quote: "I only know what has been done, not what or when they will be made available. Sakurai may change his mind, and he does all the time. Shulk will not be changed."

I've e-mailed him about the lack of Shulk, as well as the whole Chrom being a Final Smash thing. I'll update if I get a response.

Still finding it hard to believe. 8 for 11 is no easy task. I wonder what he has to say.

Oh, the guy definitely has inside info. No one can get Wii Fit Trainer right out of six guesses for the first E3, let alone Mega Man and Villager, as well. And no one could correctly guess Mii Fighters, by name, right before their reveal. He definitely has an inside connection, but yeah, he was off about Chrom for whatever reason.

I'm still pretty confident Shulk is in the game. Highly requested character, had a popular game on the Wii, and the potential for implementing future sight into his gameplay....it'd be crazy not to include him.
