Lucina, Robin AND FEMALE ROBIN, & Captain Falcon Are Today's Smash Newcomers!

I thought chance = playability, but I guess that's not the only way to belong, according to Sakurai. I got triple twisted. I thought Chrom was playable, then I thought he wasn't, then I thought he was getting his chance, and then I learned he's just a part of Lucina's Final Smash.

Captain Falcon had to stop the Gematsu leak somehow, so he killed Chrom. Not that I wanted Chrom in the first place, but damn, Cap.
 
You know what we need to balance out there being so many Fire Emblem characters? More Star Fox characters. Come on ROB64 and General Pepper.

I'm laughing at Chrom now. Guess that confirms Robin is the main character of Awakening after all.

Didn't IntSys say at E3 that Advanced Wars isn't dead, they're just busy with other projects right now?

But yeah, FE is a much more popular series and Awakening bolstered the franchise.

Of course they're already all decided, but the more characters that are revealed to the public that are not (character of choice), statistically, there is a shrinking chance that (character of choice) will be in the game.

No one believes Sakurai is willing these models and movesets into existence with each reveal.

So does this mean Marth is "removed" and Lucina has taken his place? She's listed on the Nintendo site along side the rest of the returning characters without a newcomer tag. Could mean that Marth is the alt now and would make sense since all her moves look the exact same as his.

Edit: Guess not since Marth was already confirmed.
 
You know, I have no real problem with Luciana, but I would have preferred they'd had picked somebody who didn't have blue hair or wield a sword. I'm starting to get Landmaster flashbacks over here. :/

Lucina is yet another blue haired sword user, and one that poses as and dresses exactly like another blue haired sword user that's already in the game. There's plenty more distinct female characters to choose from. Lucina is a waste of a slot. She's also bland as shit, no better than Chrom in that regard.
 
Why is there both a male and female version of this Robin character? I apologize, I haven't played Awakening.

Lucina actually makes sense as a clone, Anna would require an entirely new moveset.

Probably because she's a clone and not entirely new. Plus she's still front and center in the Robin artwork and apeared in the trailer as well.

I'm not sure you're getting what I'm saying. Whether there is 50 or 500 characters, Sakurai has a set roster. We can only do our best to ballpark it. However, regardless of how many characters are revealed, the absolute number of characters to be revealed is shrinking. That's a fact. When people say "stole a slot" they're imposing their hypothetical roster number on the game, and knocking down "slots" of known reveals.
 
I guess a female blue haired swordsman is better than another male blue haired swordsman. It's really dumb they didn't add an axe or lance (or even mount) user. Robin is good addition though.
