No, you're logic is completely flawed. Lucina isn't a "waste of a slot" in any regard. Lucina is ONLY IN THE GAME because she can be logically represented as an exact clone of Marth. The effort to include her in the game is miniscule compared to any other character, Fire Emblem or otherwise. If she weren't a clone of Marth, she wouldn't be in the game at all. She didn't take anything away from anyone and is simply an easy addition to the roster.

The pros VASTLY outweigh the cons for her:

1. Female Rep
2. Popular Character
3. LOGICAL clone character
4. Very easy to implement without taking effort/resources away from other additions/work on the game

Pretty much. As I said before, she even has Marth's idle animation. It seems like a copy-paste with minor tweaking. It doesn't take much time and gets another character in the game. Isn't that a good thing?

No, you're detailing a specific scenario. Just look a few posts above your own to see how "slots" is actually used. People speak of "slots" because there IS a predetermined number developed and put in the game. The only thing this talk of slots refers to is publicly knowing about characters in the game. The more "slots" taken, the less slots that are left, and as a result, the shrinking probability of (x character) out of a million having been made for the game.

I don't have any problems with Lucina but playing through Awakening the whole time she felt like "Chrom B" and I thought Chrom was gonna get the spot in smash, since he was the main character. And its no secret that they've been going for more female representation so I feel like that's why she got in over him.

I love Lucina, but I was hoping for a Marth alternate costume rather than an outright clone. Anna would be a fun choice, or an as-yet-unrepresented Beast or Dragon Fire Emblem female.

Tiki is easily the most popular manakete ,but she is just a trophy in smash.

Lucina is an easy character to include in the game exactly because she's so similar to Marth. There's no reason to believe they would have had the resources to include another completely new character in her stead. The "blue hairs" complaint is super silly though, since that's just what the FE main characters look like.

It becomes even sillier when taking into account that Robin seems to be one of the most unique characters in the new Smash, actually.

Yes, no one knows how big the roster is, but I'm tired of seeing "lol, slots argument makes no sense!" It makes perfect sense in absolute terms.
