Fire Emblem is great well worth buying as SMT Overclocked if you haven't already played the DS version (or really liked it).

I guess a female blue haired swordsman is better than another male blue haired swordsman. It's really dumb they didn't add an axe or lance (or even mount) user. Robin is good addition though.

Yeah I was getting ready to say something if they went with Chrom, though he's in too (in a lesser capacity). I think dark blue haired characters are meant to be a stylized fantasy black hair equivalent in Japan, so it might be a kind of ethnic/national representation to some degree.

All would be pretty cool in my book.

Robin is the player character. You choose their gender at the start of the game.

Robin was your avatar in the game; you had an option to pick which gender.

Well I'm glad the Smash collective had their minds blown. It's nice to be thrown internet-meltdown surprises now and then.

I'm sad for you Chrom supporters, but I'm glad people at Sakurai's team thought it was a bad idea to throw in another blue-haired, male swordsman in terms of the franchise success it has with female fans and characters.

There's still hope for late newcomers outside of that "2nd part of the original draft leak." Shoot, if there's room for 4 Fire Emblem slots, there's room for another top franchise earner and another female rep.... Dixie Kong!

Nintendo may have troubles in other areas but in this area, they are getting a lot right and I love it. Fire Emblem in particular has always been my favourite franchise because of its female cast being important and powerful and varied. So that it gets more Smash Bros rep makes this all the sweeter!

Lucina and Marth shared animations in Awakening, and seem to share them here too (and they were based on NES/SNES Marth's old animatinos, so it wasn't just a matter of guest Marth reusing Lucina's model).

Why is Lucina only a single square on the website if she's a newcomer?

Methinks that she's the first "clone" newcomer, hence the square designation. I'm hopeful though, based on the screens so far, that she'll be a soft clone, rather than a hard copy of Marth. So something more akin to Ganondorf/Captain Falcon.

One of the series best attributes is the feeling of isolation. Samus needs a partner about as much as Doom guy needs a partner.

You can keep that isolation. Just not every game needs to star her though. They need to introduce new characters into the series that you play as. Also not every game has to be the same. You can have different types taking place in the same universe.
