Those Ign comments. I can't.

Windows phone not getting the app means bungie hates Xbox confirmed. People are saying stuff like that.

That Simba is IGN, No Lion has ever commented there and come back alive.

Just got a preorder for PS

will probably upgrade soon but not for a few weeks at least.

Going in fresh since seeing Crucible gameplay last month. Hopefully there is more stuff in the beta if not it's all good

lol ridiculous. It's probably because market share of windows phones so puny it may not justify the resources to build an app for it.

Don't use logic when you're discussing this. It will ruin the narrative that some are trying to form.

Seriously though, that's the obviously the reason. People are grasping at straws here

It's IGN comments though.

Has anyone ever had a decent well rounded and factual conversation on there though?

I certainly haven't,

16 hours to FAIL a Raid?

Who has time for that?

I mean, I'm not saying I won't do it, but that's a LONG time!

Edit: I usually don't like using guides, but I might cave and get one. Is there an official one for Destiny on the way?

The app is incredible, especially the fact that you can equip and rotate gear. I think I was able to do that from the alpha website and I saw it update real-time while in my inventory in-game.

Perfect thing for me to put on my iPod and fiddle around with when I'm away or waiting for something to load.

We've got shifts that are working 12 hours a day, seven days a week... [and] they'll never leave - for the next 10 years. There will be something new to do every single day.

And in the Ign first video they mentioned special raids/thing. Looks like there will be alot of "stuff" going on :) cant wait

I would assume that "Comet One" would be separate from the DLC, I'm looking at this in how Call of duty is run, you get game then map packs then next game, the only difference will be that instead of next game you get next massive drop, not to say that the two planned DLC's are going to be small, because by the sounds of it between "Destiny and the 2 DLC packs that will make up the years worth of gaming."

We will then later get the "Comet 1 drop, I see that as being a massive expansion/patch for the game adding even more new goodies and new features."
as this is an online only game, I really do doubt that they'll then push for another GOTY edition of it, as the real core of their players will already have all the DLC's so to make money I'm sure they'll push for extra content, I can see that after this and the DLC come out the Comet 1 will probably slip back to spring/summer 2016 seeing as they're behind what the initial contract said.

That being said I do believe that Destiny 2 the next full game, will be the next truly next gen only title, from what bungie have always said about their new engine from day one is that it is very clever in that you can take parts, move them around and also essentially change things without having to build a new engine, so I will be excited to see how this will work, I find this the most fascinating of everything they've said.

As I truly believe that with this and destiny they'll be able to really make a truly expandable and fresh adventure with each alliteration. I'm also fairly certain that because this is an online only type shooter, that you'll actually not have to migrate a character from say ps3 > ps4 in the conventional sense as theretically it'll just be stored with that systems ecosystem ( ps+ xbl)

I just don't see the Comet being separate from DLC 1 and 2 and all of them arriving within a year. Although with DLC 1 and 2 saying exclusive until fall of 2015, it likely means they will arrive well before the year is up, could be one in january/feb and one in may/june. Which does leave room for Comet next fall as a meatier expansion.

It just sounds like a lot of content to create a lot of fragmentation and one of the things I would hate about this game franchise. Annual expansions I can handle, but not annual major sequels or multiple expansions per year to fragment the base to hell and back.

That said, by next xmas a full investment in the game could be $140-160? Assuming Comet is $40-60? That's effectively paying a $10/month subscription cost.

I was kind of worried about only having 1 Raid but 16 hours+ worth of gameplay sounds pretty amazing.

Did everyone check out this album already? https://imgur.com/a/TlUCE

The hunter helmet looks amazing, I hope we can change colors. Based PS4 exclusive, but I wish my Xbros could also have these items sooner than later.

Good heaven, that Warlock armor couldn't be more amazing. As a guy who cares way too much what his character looks like, I think this may have tipped the scales for what class I focus on.

I now have my PS4 headset (which is pretty good btw) and a year of PS+ membership all ready to go. Final step is dat Beta code and download and then I'm all good to G-O.

Thursday can't come soon enough.

what did you pick up?

This bad boy: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HVBPRUO/?tag=neogaf0e-20

Is not the end-all headset, but it is comfortable and attractive and hassle-free. Also has good sound too, although I could go for a bit more bass. It's a good deal for 80 bucks, and lightyears ahead of the POS they put in the box. Jesus Sony, at least throw in a cheap $15 headset so I can talk to my friends.

Destiny sounds much better than it has sounded on my TV speakers. Patching through my Rokits is still unbeat though. CAN'T STOP THE BASS!

I'll be playing Hunter again, that class was awesome.

Also, seeing those pictures and those weapon art from that book that comes with the LE / Ghost Edition makes me wanna cosplay as a Hunter :p

That reminds me, I have to buy one too. And $80 isn't too bad.

People are misinterpreting that 16 hour comment. The Raid is not 16 hours long, that's ridiculous.

What Bungie meant is that they had a top clan come in and take a crack at the Raid. They spent 16 hours playing it and still couldn't finish it, i.e., not a length issue but a difficulty one. Maybe they couldn't get solve a particular puzzle, or couldn't work out an effective strategy for a boss.

This is pretty common in MMO's - when a Raid is first released no one knows how to finish it, and even if they do, it might take near flawless execution that only practice can confer. That's why some MMO's even give special titles or rewards to the first group that finishes the content.

Thanks for reminding me I needed to buy this. With prime it'll be here in 2 days if I hadn't gotten it today that would have been an issue.

Mhmm. 16 hours only means that it's difficult if you don't know what you're doing. It took my brother and I 3 hours to clear Cairo Station on Legendary in Halo 2 our first time, but now it's more like 30 - 45 minutes at most.

I'm hoping it's a challenge, but it's certainly not a 16 hour challenge. Well maybe at first, but not once people know what to do.

Are there any headsets for PS4 that are the exact same as the standard Xbox 360 headset? I know there's the official PS4 one, but i don't believe it has a mute button, right?

No extended mic; makes me worry the "hidden" one will be crap.

it's a concern for sure. However most people on Gaf that have reported using say they work pretty good.

PS4 in general seems to be lacking in voice quality compared to my 360, so i'm not expecting an IMAX experience or something, especially at an entry-level price. It'll probably be a bit tinny sounding, but no more than the Kinect or that shit they put in the box. As long as my friends and I can hear each other and I can balance the game and chat audio as needed (which i can), I'll be content.

There's probably a better or more specific headset for less (or more if it's the one better suited to you), so by all means do some shopping around.
