You have three character slots.

Schweet, thank you

Only only get 1 character forever. You can never play anything but that 1 character. So make your choice count.

Anyone know if this would work with the Xbox One headset adapter? My standard Xbox One headset crapped out on me recently and this seems like it would be a nice replacement assuming it would be compatible.

I can test as a mate has one and I have headset adapter, seeing him for beta, so will test and tell you then, I assume it would be fine though as the jack fits.

None of the focus upgrades or skills in Destiny are permanent until you lock them. You'll probably be able to unlock them for a certain fee too. Unless you're making different races or genders or something, there isn't much reason to have more than one build of the same class. If your Hunter is a Gunslinger, I don't think she'll be "stuck" as a Gunslinger, so there wont really be a need to wipe a character.

Extra slots wouldn't hurt, but three is adequate. I think most people will have two classes in the final game.

I know one reason I'm making tow characters is one is my main to level as much as I want and whenever I want, and my other is strictly my co-op character to level same time as my friend. Once both hit twenty or whatever the cap is, then I can play either whenever I want.

The decision I'm having to struggle with is do I want my Titan to be my day one play with my co-op buddy class or do I want my Warlock to be that ?

I don't know how level scaling works in this game even after Alpha so I don't want to be a level 5 and him a 15 so it's just him roflstomping things easy peesy. Takes the tension out of the game.

So I preordered the game from the PSN store and I still haven't recieved a key.

Not going to panic... Not going to panic...

You're not supposed to get a key, it's a straight download for you on the 17th or if you're on EU PSN you can pre-load it now.

OK guys, digital per-order on PSN, Europe, I can see the BETA, but I can´t download it.

It just gives me an error.

Is this normal or is something wrong?

You need to go somewhere and turn on auto download for it. Not sure how I did it though.

If the beta is already on your PS4 menu 'cause you have downloaded a small client, you're downloading it, press the options button and you can see that you're downloading 12Gb

The last time I wanted to immerse myself this completely into a game world was Guild Wars 2. Unfortunately that didn't turn out so well. Even now I still like the game, but it's not really pulling me in and almost never did even when I was playing it religiously.

Hopefully Destiny's world and lore are more interesting. The gameplay already is more fun than I had in Guild Wars 2, and this is just with the few number of toys I got to play with in the Alpha.

You can dive a little bit into the Lore already: Here, here, here, and here.

thinking back and it makes me feel dirty.

I had 10 level 85 SMH at myself really.

someone said this earlier, and he was right, that game $60 + DLC $40? = $100 + the $40 - $60 for the Comet 1 DLC you're actually paying $10 a month just pretty much all upfront.

The big difference is that after buying Destiny you don't have to pay to keep playing the game.

Nope, I can only see it in my notification center not in my menu.

I'm not following your math at all here.

WoW = $50 for the first game @ launch +$15 a month and $50 for every expansion upon release.

Destiny = $60 + $35 for the Season Pass and no subscription.

Now you can play with the numbers more and more when you start talking WoW Battle Chest or Destiny LE/Ghost etc.. etc.. but you really can't say Destiny's expansion prices are "subscriptions, just up front" because subscription MMO's charge you per month and still sell you the expansions. They're more costly no matter how you slice it.

And after Reach's combat mission I'm not sure I'd want to see it added; it was a huge development resource drain for what felt like a mini-game in the context of the campaign. I think Bungie would need to add a major space exploration component where they to enable controlling the ships, but that's out of the scope of Destiny.
Yeah, I think Bungie utilized Reach as a vehicle to prototype things for Destiny; it was still something worth trying, even if it didn't make the cut. Sometimes you never know unless you try.

I applied to join Destiny GAF and havent been accepted...Are there no Sith Allowed?
Only a Sith and Dax on OT thread title suggestions deal in absolutes.

You're both right but we kind of do indirectly due to the cost of PS+ and Live but yeah it is cheaper, I just was an absolute WoW fiend back in the day so hate thinking of the real amount of money + time i spent on it. All those sub months and CE editions...

So between hoping back and forth on mobile and PC I've missed the greater part of the beta-preload discussion. Anyone mind bringing me up to speed? Thought the US at least wouldn't be emailed their download codes until Thursday. Is there a way to preload without going through the EU account system, or is that what you guys are all doing?

Nice setup-and-cat-combo btw, Skele7on.

I'm EU anyway, so it really doesn't bother me.

But yeah I think pre loading may come to the states tomorrow....

Cheers bro!

BTW if you wish to add me on PSN my username is: Drubbed

Twilight_Gap has sent you a request.

Hope they got on with the preloading thing. Those up and ready for the Beta should be in there at 10:00 PDT and not a minute later!
