I'm sure this has been talked about, but I'm very interested in this specific shot. It's clearly not taking place on Mars, but rather something orbiting Mars, most likely Phobos that you can see when you're on Mars, seems like it would fit in terms of distance.

And while this is clearly from a multiplayer map, I doubt Bungie would create a multiplayer map that isn't based on a zone from from the game, simply due to budgetary reasons.

It would certainly be exiciting if there was a zone on Phobos, as it would confirm locations other than directly on the confirmed areas like Earth, Moon, Mars and Venus.

You did notice that Mars was being bombarded, and the ships, so yes, I believe that Phobos might be zone we get to explore.

That's not a real game. Get your blasphemous ideas out of my head.

Actually, I haven't played ESO, but I feel like it would be missing some of the things I love the most about the series simply by nature. I always enjoyed feeling like a solitary force, exploring the world, finding journals and books and loot. No matter how simplistic the combat was, I'll always think of Elder Scrolls as one of the greatest gaming series ever.

This is part of the reason I love Destiny. Halo was my favorite FPS. Halo gameplay with ES Lore and exploration? Count me in. Of course, unlike ES, I'll need some backup. xD

I just came across this http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/14/destinyas-companion-app-is-actually-useful-a-ign-first?utm_campaign=fbposts&utm_source=facebook So im sorry if it has been posted on here already, i missed a few pages from that whole discussion lol. But ya the app looks pretty awesome, and im really excited to try it out on the beta too. I really wish there was more functionality like the app for The Division is going to have, where you can actually like control turrets and do something in game and play with your friends that would really really be fun especially in such a social open world game like this you can have a friend sit on the couch on app and play with you or something, so hopefully, especially if people suggest it enough they may eventually add something like that to it, but im still really really hyped for the beta now even more and to try it out ^__^

Also not sure if im just really excited and hoping to much, but in the video the guy said oh this character has been playing in the beta a bunch and shows like his recent actions and stuff in the campaign and it shows Mars and Venus locations, so maybe somewhat confirms those areas for the beta!?!? And i also think that the Grimoire stuff was pretty awesome, and i really had a huge feeling they will be pretty important and have some impact in the game possibly give you Light or some other points or something to upgrade your gears and weapons if you collect enough which is pretty awesome, and im sure is what those 13 unlockable cards were for also. Well again sorry if someone shared it already but if not hope it helps and maybe someone can dissect the video more and share anything else they find :D

What I would give to have MP map loosely based on Zanzibar. *closes eyes and dreams*

hahai know right, or Lockout, or honestly id give anything to have some maps that would be loosely based on older halo maps, it would be beyond amazing! and a huge nod and respect to the fans that supported them with halo through all the years lol ^_^

I'd rather think that they supported us with Halo all these years. :P

I'm in a bit of a gaming slump at the moment (not one game that I'm really focussing on), but Destiny will certainly change that!! Can't wait to play the beta this weekend.

This is where owning multiple consoles will come in handy. I'll be able to play in all of those classic halo maps in the Master Chief collection. Though that will gather dust as I play all the new games I have this fall.

Speculation follows but spoilered since it discusses some Lore and stuff from cutscenes shown in trailers.

Looking at some of the quotes from FutureWarCult's (the GAFfer) Reddit posts.. It would seem The Queen of The Reef has some dealings with The House of Wolves. Someone here in one of the previous threads pointed out that The Queen of the The Reef was shown with Fallen Guards. So with The Dark Below expansion seemingly dealing with whatever it is at the bottom of the Hellmouth on The Moon.. perhaps House of Wolves expansion will be The Queen's Fallen helpers (hired hands?) turning on her and us having to help her out?

Maybe. This is my theory:

The known Fallen Houses are: House of Devils (Red Fallen), House of Wolves (Blue Fallen), House of Kings (Yellow Fallen), House of Winter (Presumably the Green Fallen). House of Devils were seen in the Devils' Lair Strike. House of Winter is speculation of my part, but seeing as Devils' Lair was on the Cosmodrome Map, one can only assume that Winter's Lair on the Venus Map means we'll be dealing with House of Winter in some form (Cryptarch also mentions "House Winter"). House of Wolves could very well be the Queen of the Reef's bodyguards. As for House of Kings, they've been shown a couple of times in trailers. This is all speculation though.

Unlike Reach, the multiplayer maps are being built separately from the PvE spaces (although they do share the environmental artists), so it wouldn't be unusual for them to create entirely different environments. It's possible that there is a story mission on Phobos, but it looks more like a stand alone space in the Crucible that they haven't announced yet. There was some speculation earlier about it being the Exodus Blue map, but that was just revealed here, which throws that theory out.

Went through the last 20 or so pages since last night... Really? :P

Hey Gaffers,

anyone else intentionally not playing the beta? ( unless there is a bonus that we get in the retail from playing the beta?)

I played the alpha and realized I like the game- it has so much potential and I think playing the beta will kind of take away from that new game feeling. Am I the only one that is self inflicting this torment?

Have a few friends who are deliberately not playing the beta for this reason. I don't think they will last the week though and will fold and eventually play if i keep prattling on about how awesome it is.

"Guardians what do you think you're doing?"

"Sir, finishing the fight"

dududu DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA dududu DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA dududu DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Thats how Destiny 1 + 2 ends. Destiny 3 ends when it is revealed that your Ghost was the key to defeating the darkness all the time. All you need to do is add your light and space magic to the Ghost in order for it to dispense your essence across the galaxy. From here there are three choices to be made:

1) You can control the Darkness with your mastery of the travellor's light and stop the darkness from returning by sending them all into the sun, with the cost of losing your life in the process.

2) You can use your abundance of "Space Magic" (TM) in order to bring peace through combining both the darkness and light together by providing understanding and a neural link between the two. Everyone will be changed so that there is no longer just light and darkness. Everyone will have both light and darkness in them and everyone will be the same thus bringing peace.

*However this requires vast amounts of space magic and is only available to Warlocks (Master Class)

3) You can use your light to Destroy the darkness at the cost of your life by adding all your light to your ghost. However, in doing so, you will also kill all of your fellow guardians as you take away their light as well in order to destroy the darkness.

4. Secret ending - Flip off the ghost, walk away and then get stabbed in the heart by an exo who is dancing. This is the only ending available to titans due to lack of space magic.

Again i will reiterate that i enjoy all the classes :P

In one of the IGN Crucible Vids, the Bungie Dev (Lars?) said that the PvP maps were not based on any PvE zones. They're entirely unique aside from being thematically designed in line with the planets they're located on.

I'm expecting a more Halo 3-esque ending, where you're betrayed by your Ghost.

Motherfucking 343 Guilty Spark...

Could easily see that happening. Your ghost was actually the master of the darkness the entire time which is how they always knew where you were.

Killing ghost first opportunity i get in game to hopefully unlock special cutscene saying you defeated the true enemy.

I know that multiplayer maps a uniquely created areas, but so far all the revealed maps ( with the exception of the rusted lands, though that's in all likelyhood based on that flooded chicago zone that is very likely also in the game ), have been based on locations we know are gonna be in the game outside of just those multiplayer maps.

By basing multiplayer maps on the locations present in the game, they reduce the number of new assets they have to spend money creating.

In one of the IGN Crucible Vids, the Bungie Dev (Lars?) said that the PvP maps were not based on any PvE zones. They're entirely unique aside from being thematically designed in line with the planets they're located on.

They said that the multiplayer maps weren't just placed ripped straight from a zone. But they were based on locals in the game, yes. Hence we have a moon map because the moon is a place in the game, hence we have a mars map because mars is a place in the game, etc. Applying that logic to that gif, we have a phobos map because phobos is a place in the game as well. At least so I hope.

Don't you dare associate hunters with Sunbros, that's reserved for support warlocks. I mean they heal you and buff you for jolly co-operation. That's as sunbro as it gets.
I honestly don't know why, but when you said "Sunbro" the first thing I thought of was the Knights of the Blood from Sword Art Online. Once again, I have no idea why - probably the armour and shields and Paladin-esque traits maybe?

It's lunchtime, I'm hungry, and my brain doesn't seem to be working properly right now.

Hrm... That reflective visor is going straight on my warlock. Needs to reflect my space magic so i can create some awesome light effects (like a disco ball for when i dance)
