Giant Bomb #8 | It's a Hit!

Starting with Metal Man is a chump move. You play the game that many times, it becomes an admission of weakness to go straight for the OP weapon like that.

Wood Man is the better first level.

MM >>>>>> MMX, not even a question.

Excited for this Bombastica!

Also, the Shadowgate EX was good. Shame that people choose to skip out on it.

I always end up doing Air Man first because I forget the order. But he's a chump and his stage is easy so it doesn't matter.

Air Man was always frustrating for me.
I used some crash shots (i think thats what they were called) to take him out in about 4-5 hits.

If i'm remembering correctly...probably has been a good 15 years since I've played Megaman 2.

It's probably cause I don't have the soul of an artist but the article about "Mountain" strikes me as completely unnecessary and giving too much attention to something that already gets too much attention. Might as well write an article about a Windows Screen Saver

Pretty much.

I wonder what the view count is for EXes vs. regular QL's. (Probably depends a lot on the game, I suppose.)

I guess.

but a quicklook to me is GB going all out on their own devices for better or worse.

my reaction pretty much 100 percent of the time

the only one i actually checked out was the Persona 4 Arena one mainly because of the rich history that game has with the site and luckily the dude manning the EX was alright.

I haven't been checking the site recently, but I just noticed, that there's a lack of new material with Jeff. Is he on vacation?

Ha, I love that Mega Man 9 Breaking Jeff video.

I can't defeat Air Man :(

I was ready to disagree with you, but then I read the interview in the article and now I want badly for that man to be hit in the face with a brick.

While I normally don't care for QL EX, I had no idea a new Shadowgate was coming out, and now I'm excited for it, so the video did its job.

Giant Bomb: When you think of a mountain, what comes to mind?

David O'Reilly: A mountain.

GB: The items that end up on your mountain are...random. Shovels. Bananas. Eggs. Were you just flipping through Flickr albums?

O'Reilly: No.
Oh geez, great interview, thanks guy.

I dunno, Patrick usually writes pretty good stuff but to put this shouldn't be put up on the site. It's just completly useless

Interview was worth it for Patrick to get shot down on this foolish question.

GB: When I first turned on Mountain, I was waiting for the moment of revelation, when it would click. The equivalent of a head shot. "Ah, yes." But it never comes. That point seems intentional, no?

Yeah, I don't get what "Did you ever climb a mountain" has to do with anything. I mean maybe Patrick tried to get the guy talking a bit but it obviously didn't work yet he decided that the question, and the one word answer, was worthy to go up on the site.
I don't want to be to harsh since usually Patrick can write rather interesting stuff but I feel like he has kinda fallen off a bit and this...this just strikes me as "Well, I hoped to get anything out of this but NOPE. Anyway the "interview" took me an hour or so, let's just put it up, why not?"

Alex is the worst at Quick Man, lol.

Good to see MM2's still kicking, though. It's definitely easy to get into this bubble where you think MM2 is too easy. :p

Here's what you do in Mountain: look at a mountain, then look at it some more. It's a little more complicated than that, but not by much. You can rotate around the mountain, zoom in and out, and interact with a simple piano at the bottom of the screen. Every once and a while, an object, such as a banana, will come flying towards the mountain. More objects show up, the world cycles through day and night, and the seasons change every once in a while. That's really it.
video games are dead

A friend of mine just upgraded to premium, and he'd like to catch up on the alt+f1 podcasts. There is a premium podcast filter, but that also gives the wrestling casts, the movie casts, and ad-free regular bombcasts. Is there a way to browse just alt+f1?
