Lucario and Greninja replaced Mewtwo, man!

Meh, I never really cared for Mewtwo. Still the roster isn't 100% confirmed so who knows maybe Mewtwo might return.

Silly rumors.

Indeed which is why it's going to be totally nightmare when the 3DS games releases in Japan with people trying to figure out the full roster.

I finally get to see my Mii naked... wait what? o_O;

Playable bosses via the Gamepad for 4v1 play would be very, very cool to see. Probably a more satisfying way of incorporating characters like Ridley too.

Master Hand, legitimately playable at last!

Looks like that Garfield guys leak from Gamfaqs only this guy acts like he doesn't know who Petey Piranha is where as I'm pretty sure Garfield named him outright. This is my worst case scenario.

If it came true it seems like something Sakurai would do to appease people who wanted characters like Ridley and K Rool. Lord knows there is a lot of them and maybe by the time Sakurai realized it there was only enough time to implement them as limited bosses.

Hope that mess is fake! I wan't a real playable Ridley I could use in tournaments on any stage with friends or not at all!/stubborn!

This is the one thing I would really enjoy if that boss mode leak was legit. I've always wanted to see a hackless Master Hand playable

What do you mean by hackless? You can definitely play as Master Hand in Melee without any kind of codes or cheat devices. It's a glitch though, so maybe I'm just jumping over the semantics here. And you can't really kill him anyway, plus it freezes when he wins... so meh. Still, it's fun to mess around with it if you haven't before.

Playable bosses sound awesome though. Mainly because of how cool Ridley and Rayqua

Poor Chrom

Gotta say, I've been seeing some Lucina-Captain Falcon shipping on the interwebs.

Ridley is going to try to believe.

Lucina knows what's up.

Captain Falcon reaction.

Finally....

I love this lol!

On a related note, I'll take this opportunity to post why Wolf is actually more "unique" than how people say it.

Wolf_O%27Donnell(Clear).png

Yeah sure people always say his A moves are unique but not his special moves... but they're actually unique by all accounts. Yeah, he's even less of a "clone" than Lucas! Only thing that pins him as a partial clone is his Final Smash (which is literally just stat changes) and miscellaneous animation (mushroom growth/shrink, sleep, ledge attack). Here's why.

Claw Blaster is actually a unique move, all things consider. For one, It has unique animation - not just a mere projectile swap like what you see with Lucas's PK Freeze or a mere animation swap like what yous ee with Falco's Blaster. The way Wolf attacks with it has its own properties and the shot itself has its own properties, and considering it "similar" to Blaster is just saying that Lucario's and Samus's charged shots are similar.

Wolf Flash is not just "Fox Illusion with an angle". It doesn't have "the same move but meteor smashes people rather than sending them upward". It has its own rules and properties, from having a "tip of the attack deal massive damage" to "the way the attack grabs on the ledge varies".

Wolf Shoot is very different from Fire Fox and Fire Bird. No charge up, deals plenty of hits with a "stinger" at the end, and seems to be longer too. Now one would say it is similar to Fire Fox/Bird, but then it is no different from other Up B moves with similar functions, from Pikachu's Quick Attack to Diddy's Barrel Rocket. All up B moves that require a directional input that throttles the character there. No more different than various characters having a variation of "uppercut" attacks or "spin" attacks.

Now, Reflector is the one that is definitely based from the other Reflectors, but then again we have many Counter moves yet no one bats an eye about them. And even then, Wolf's Reflector isn't merely just "reflect stuff". If anything, it's an amalgamation of Counter and Reflector. Rather than having a "spike", Wolf's Reflector has invulnerability frames plus a connecting damage. Think of it as a Counter but has a reflecting effect that persists. So if anything, it's sorta like a better Naryu's Love.

Yeah, I don't really get it when people kept pressing the fact wolf is a direct clone of Fox when he's really not.

LOL. I think recent trailer really bring a lot of hype to Smash Community.

You can? Huh, I thought it was only through emulation that you could play as Master Hand.

"56 named slots and 8 unknown ones"

They'd have to really scrape the bottom of the barrel to get 64 characters in this game.

I don't think you need to "scrape the bottom of the barrel" to add some hefty numbers to the cast.
Then again, I usually wholly disagree with what a lot of people consider bottom of the barrel entrants mostly because it's always ignorance that decides who's worth less/more than who.
The bigger thing is, would it be feasible especially if these are guys/gals who will be on the primary disc roster.

Preaching to the choir here. SmashGAF is generally much better about understanding/accepting subtle differences in Smash character gameplay/gameplay potential than other places I've been to. At least here I don't feel drowned out in a wave of "NO MORE SWORDS/FUCK SPACIES/KILL LUCAS/LUCARIO = MEWTWO" when talking about this stuff.

I'm still thinking one's for the Wii U version, the other's for the 3DS.

This is probably it, because looking at them side by side like that there's clearly more differences than simply the angle or some minor animation. Body and hood are different sizes, hair has different textures, and the face proportions are different. One looks like old school 3D, the other looks like the more modern 2D, but either way they seem too similar to be in the same game. If it's not Wii U/3DS, then it probably has one base frame and you can select the game somehow to show evolution. Like having one Mario pose but being able to select a 64/Sunshine/Galaxy/3D World level of detail and design on it.

The difference isn't even subtle tbqh

You'd think with unique, different animations (more than just a recolored falcon punch, etc) would tell them that this move is different.

Just give Wolf a new Final Smash and he can stay. I don't want to see three Landmasters again.

What about

GROUNDGOD?

I didn't meant to change the topic but it's big if we are getting dlc characters. Would Sakurai use the characters that already have their place in assist trophies, pokeball pokemon and final smash?

For me, I don't think so since it would be weird to see assist trophies model next to their playable model.
Alfonzo can take their place.

He's the Sakura to Fox's Ryu really. They share the same "attacks", yet have completely different animations and functions.
