Yes her! I gave her Astra and one of the swords that healed as you attacked and it was like if you weren't wearing blessed armor or a dragon, you would NEVER hit her and she would leave entire sections of the maps Tyrannosaurus Rekt. She was too pro at evasion then would just put you into MVC3 style TAC combos. At one point in one of the old replays, we essentially narrowed our personal metagame to sending in Ike, Titania, Nephenee, Mia and/or an assorted collection of the laguz we could use and watching the carnage unfold.
Well yes, which is why I didn't like it. It had that fighting game-esque battle system you were asking for, though.
More seriously, an SRPG that might be your bag is Devil Survivor, since you actually control the battle once a unit meets an enemy on the map. It's all still RPG-menu-driven, though, so if that puts you off, I'm out of ideas!
Apparently Lucina was supposed to be an alternate for Marth, but someone was cut during development (Chrom?). Lucina was promoted to her own character to fill the void.

But we've gone over this a few pages ago and it doesn't actually say that on the pages we've seen online. If it's from somewhere else in the magazine it hasn't been posted online.

It's just funny to think of in retrospect that everyone in my family probably played this game horribly wrong but it led to us developing fun little attachments/in-jokes about certain things. As soon as Mia got promoted she was one of the top 4 units in our playthroughs. "Throw Titania at it" was internalized code for "we don't know what to do but we'd really like to leave this map with no casualties now". Rolf was that character who always stuck it out at the back of the bus until we got better units.
When we found out that he got married to Ike's sister in Radiant Dawn a few months ago, everyone in the room just busted out laughing.
Haven't you people ever actually looked at the legs of Megaman characters? They have always been these enormous things with no actual articulation at the ankle. This can be pretty clearly seen in the Mega Man X4 cutscenes, for example.

Wow. I've been spending a lot of time with my family this week (since I'm rarely ever back in the US now), but SmashGAF is just as active as ever!
With pleasure! Here's the info on Robin.
Robin, the protagonist from Fire Emblem: Awakening
Select male or female the same way you rotate colors
Uses the Levin Sword for Smash attacks and various tomes for his special attacks
Both weapons disappear after a certain number of uses and will automatically recover after a set amount of time passes OR the player "makes a mistake" (note: not sure if this means "whiffs an attack" or "gets hit")
Side Smash: horizontal slice with electric shock damage, automatically switches to bronze sword after a set number of uses
Forward Aerial: can use the Levin Sword a set number of times by Smashing the aerial (note: this implies that tilting to use the aerial will simply summon the bronze sword)
Down Special - Nosferatu: summons out a snake-shaped purple curse in front of him/her, drains % from opponents hit by the curse, amount recovered increases when striking an opponent from behind
Neutral Special - Thunder: chargeable projectile, press once to charge and cycle through Thunder -> Elthunder -> Arcthunder ->Thoron, press again to unleash spell, can shield while charging to hold the charge (a la Charge Shot) and press again to resume charging
Side Special - Arcfire: projectile that launches diagonally downward (a la PK Fire), summons a pillar of flames whenever the spell hits the ground/a character/an item
Up Special - Elwind: fires two projectiles almost directly downward and leaps up when performed in the air, doesn't even jump when the tome has expired (note: no news about how it performs on the ground
Final Smash - Pair Up: Chrom performs a dashing slash, opponents caught in the attack are launched into the air and subjected to an onslaught of slashes from Chrom and spells from Robin
Will continue translating after I finish eating with my family.
This is fantastic! I got Robin on my first try. :3
Totally buying a copy of Awakening as soon as I get back to Tokyo.
The section of the article shown (from this week's Sakurai column) doesn't mention any cut characters, but it could have just been excluded from the scan. I'm in the US right now, but I can pick up a copy when I get back if we can't find a better scan before then.

lol this was what happened with me and my friends with awakening where we made our own pairings (which is actually kinda surprising in the long run since hes not really an anime fan or even into the idea of pairing characters) and we talked so much smack bout how our characters are more godlier than the other it was probably also what made awakening my favorite entry in the fe franchise

Didn't someone here claim that the story about Lucina's origins is told in a separate column by Sakurai that's not in that article but it's in the same issue? In which case, I guess we'd be waiting to see this alleged column.
I got a Metroid Prime Trilogy like that early last year. It still had that outer package and all of the inserts. Ran me 29,99, too, which seems to be the highest GameStop goes on old, used games. They never raise the price later on like they seem to do in the US.
Very cool! Man, Robin is for sure going to be one of my new mains. Between him, Greninja, Little Mac, and Mega Man, I'm going to have my hands full learning new characters!
Just looked it up, so cool! I love the StarFox characters.
I knew about this in Melee, but never got around to doing it in Brawl. These were much better too. I probably didn't get around to it since it was kind of overshadowed by Snake's easter eggs.
