Going to be fun if PS4 still outsells it tomorrow.
The way I see it, it definitely did. Otherwise MS would have mentioned it being #1 in sales.

Ehm, no? That was a joke.Wait, for real? I didn't know that
*Internal data based on retail calendar and sold through numbers
Yes but MS can't give the exact results of sales in EU. There are a lot of NTSC-U consoles in my country and everybody is trying to get a PAL one. If I was an US customer, I would think that "Aha Xbone sold XXX K units in EU. If this was a bad console it couldn't sell that much. I'll buy Xbone"
I bet Destiny sells better on the bone.
Welp Pack it up sony.
Reggie did say he expects xbox in third place.
Anybody know what "retail calendar" means? I know sold through is sold to retailers, but what period of time does a retail calendar cover?
Nothing even remotely like that. All it means for now is people who wanted the system before the "price drop" were smart enough to wait until the "price drop" to get the system. Would mean exactly the same thing if PS4 were in this position.Sounds like ps4 probably outsold X1 then....but 160k+ is still good.
So I guess the take away from this is that price parity is almost enough to sell through even with ps4 (in US), but not quite enough....
If they can be the first to officially drop the price, I could see them taking the holiday crown, but that's a big IF.
Traditionally they have been very reluctant to straight out drop the price of their products. I think it took the 360 two years before it got an official price drop.
Thing is, if those markets were so important to them they'd have been scrambling their arses together to get the console out there soon than 10 months or so later.
They will get a boost (not a big one by any means) in those regions but I don't think it will do that much.
US and UK were the two biggest markets for them, that is what will hurt them more than other markets.
It's funny because he made this post on 5-29-2014.
I hope Xbox One does better & better. I have a PS4, my brother has the One. I don't want to see this new current gen becoming a cakewalk for Sony, and above all, I want a healthy console/games industry in general for all dedicated game platforms as much as possible.
I also certainly don't want this gen to be another 7 or 8 years long like last. I still say five to six years would be fine (that was the norm) and therefore I want next gen to start in 2018, or 2019 at the latest.
Wat? Usually we never get EU numbers.
Man you guys are delirious
June, for example, was a 5 week tracking period.
Reggie did say he expects xbox in third place.

Q: Will the Wii U ever outsell the Xbox One or PlayStation 4?
A: The dirty little secret is if you look at life-to-date numbers, between Sony and Nintendo theyd be pretty close in terms of PS4 vs. Wii U, with Xbox coming in third place. I think its going to be a three-horse race for the balance of this cycle.

This is a list of the new countries. MS doesn't ship Xbone nearly half of the EU
Well atleast this time, the similar architecture btwn PS4 and XBO ensures cross-platform dev for those two is the least expensive it's ever been between Sony and Microsoft systems of the same gen, relatively speaking.Developing for multiple platforms is expensive.
That's exactly when they did it, yes, but the circumstances were different. MS's been on the defense out of the gate this gen, so when they do a press release like this, people will look at it differently than if Sony did it.I know everyone is assuming they didn't win NPD for June because of this preemptive release, but didn't Sony do this several months back? They had a preemptive release and everyone made the assumption they had lost the month, but then still won. May have been back when Titanfall launched...

Destiny would be out by then? Massive advertising, PS4 bundles, it's going to be hard to stop that momentum. With the way things are going, I'm starting to doubt they can even beat PS4 during Halo MCC month.

Heh, "if".

But it's kind of moot when you got devs spending $500 million on a single game regardless. I still can't believe that budget.
Boom?
Boom.
And this is the spike month for them. Months up to November could be brutal as hell.
Especially with the Ps4 getting spikes in July, September, October and then the holiday rush.

Heh, "if".
Pretty bad numbers for MS, though not surprising. It needs to be cheaper than the PS4, not the same price. Though I doubt MS is willing to take that kind of a loss.
Well, technically the Xbox One is in third place right now isn't it?
Yikes. That is terrible. It was only so low last month because people were waiting for the price drop. If 160k is all they did with 5 weeks and those extra people waiting.....
Lol yep, the one and only. Thanks for the clarification tho, altho, knowing that, I'm still gonna play oblivious and milk it. The way they originally threw that number out there was insane.I'm assuming you're referring to Destiny?
Heh, yep...there is that. How of that is allocated to development vs. marketing, that's maybe a good question.
September is going to be a landslide.
Serious question - Do you guys think that the XB1 will ever out sell the PS4 this generation in NA? Or globally for that matter?

If it's this bad in America, what the hell are the figures for the ROTW for June I'd like to know.
I know everyone is assuming they didn't win NPD for June because of this preemptive release, but didn't Sony do this several months back? They had a preemptive release and everyone made the assumption they had lost the month, but then still won. May have been back when Titanfall launched...
For the record, I think PS4 wins June as well, but not because of this early release.
Considering there are no games worth buying a console for, that is ok.
I don't know why people are shocked that the PS4 would outsell the Xbox. It's a more popular brand world wide ATM.

Again MS probably won't talk about EU sales, and most sale-tracking agencies don't reveal the numbers. So US customers will never know how Xbone is doing in Europe.
So what would double May be? Does anyone remember/konw the May NPD numbers?
